Grapes do well where I am, right outside of Albuquerque. I have two fence lines of them. They like crummy soil...sand and peat moss are fine. They do like water. Does she water them enough? Grasshoppers will go after them. There are a number of wineries where I live.
Didn't do much today, trying to figure out if we take the safe or leave it. The safe guys will put it on a pod, but don't know anyone on the other end who can take it off the pod. It's 700 lbs. We may have to leave it and get another. Took written inventory of all that's in the freezers, and scrubbed out one of them. 19 more days.
Thanks, Amish Heart! I passed the info on to my sister.
I hope you can find a solution for your safe. Would suck for you to have to leave it & get a new one, but 700lbs is a LOT. Wonder if you could rent a forklift strong enough for it. LOL.

I ended up sleeping most of the day as I felt horrible. It rained all day & I woke up after dark. Did a little cleaning in the kitchen. Condensation reservoir on the pressure cooker was absolutely disgusting. I shouldn't be having to clean up after a 40-yr old boy, but it has to get done. If my headache goes away tomorrow I might see about cutting the caulk around the shower & taking a peek to see what the walls look like behind the fiberglass unit. I also need to check the workshop to make sure my oldest cat didn't slip in there when we were unloading stuff. I haven't seen him since we unloaded the shower stuff & he didn't come when called. He usually comes in when it rains. I hope he's OK.

@Amish Heart Isn’t there a sportsman’s shop of some sort on the other end? They should be able to arrange the removal from the pod. Might take a little bit of coordination as far as timing but I would think it would still be far cheaper than purchasing a new one. Ours is still up the mountain for that reason but we’re not getting rid of it- a jewelers safe w/ 7 layers of titanium (I think?)

Maybe. Mentioned that possibility to husband. I think they quoted $300 here to stick it on the pod from the company we bought it from.
Yikes. How much does it cost for a new safe to be purchased & delivered?

Cat turned up fine. I couldn't sleep so I went down to the workshop with a flashlight. He wasn't in there, but he came over to me as I was leaving. Not sure where he was hiding, but it was somewhere outside. I carried his lard butt up to the house & set him by the food.

I'm tired but can't seem to get my mind to rest. I will have to go to the store today to get milk & other groceries.

Need to check to see when Mom is supposed to mail in her ballot for elections. There's a new rule that anyone 65+ is eligible for a mail-in-ballot so they don't have to be exposed to Covid going to the polls (and also because they tend to have mobility issues or be on limited budget & not have transportation). Mom got a form asking if she wanted to do mail-ins & she filled it out in the affirmative. She received her ballot in the mail a week later. I'll have to make sure she doesn't lose it. I have to take mail to the post office since we don't get pickup & delivery here.

It looks like it's going to be another rainy day. WTForecast says "It looks like Dagobah outside." LOL. I hate using my phone so I got Bluestacks on my computer that lets me play apps. Been having fun with word puzzles. I still hope to do something productive today. It's dry in the workshop so I might do some touch-up paint on the door after I clean it up. Friend helped me flip it and get it on a moving blanket to protect it.

Late yesterday I had called the Credit Union. I would like to set up a IRA. They ask me when it would suit me to come in to do so. I can be there in ten minutes. Well...Wednesday their calendar is totally open. We agree that today (Wednesday), when they open at 8:30, will be my appointment.

8:25 I'm pulling up in front of the Credit Union when I get a cell call. Credit Union has a Staff meeting first thing this morning, could I come in later? I suggest 9 AM, they say it would be better at 3 PM. So now instead of my 401k Admin having two days to transfer my money (my project that I wanted my money for is scheduled to start Friday) they will have one day...maybe...

Yesterday. 30 minutes at the Credit Union and my IRA account is setup and active. I love Credit Unions!

This morning I jump though the last hurdle the 401K Admin had. They don't do electronic transfers. I'm told to expect 1 to 10 days before I receive my check for my funds in the mail. Credit Union confirms that once the Money is deposited I will have instant access to my funds.

I have a 10 day grace period on my project that I'm committed to this Friday. After 10 days I lose my deposit if I don't make the next installment (the reason I want a withdrawal from my 401K). Project Company said they'd grant another 10 days for $$$$. Check for $$$$ in today's mail. Now I'm good till the middle of July. My slush fund is now a bit low.

If any of y'all see an old cowpoke on horse back riding towards Connecticut you know that the 401K Admin didn't deliver and is in a needing of a bit of adjustment from me.

Yesterday, I slowed down and never got to the pickles, so that is today along with the dusting.

I received new food processor from Walmart/ Fed Ex yesterday. Didn't even get it completely unwrapped. Repackaged and took it back to Walmart for a credit. Much smaller than I thought. Re-ordered largest one I could find and should have it in another week or so. I use mine 2 or 3 times a week and more in this season.

Also, picked up my recent lab work from doc, which stayed about the same so that is good.

I did do my long video and then walked around the block, but still not up to doing longer regular walk.

Off to the city,
Wife has to go back for TB test reading.

I'll be in the parking lot again , if anyone needs me. :)

She gonna buy me lunch today, cuz I did all the mowing yesterday , cuz she didn't feel good.

The mutt followed and watched...he hated that noise...so do I.

Got to finish tapeing other half of bathroom for painting.
We got 1/2 painted.

Gonna be hot here today.
We will be picking, snapping, canning green beans soon.

Took the day off from work to go to my youngest child's tennis match and take my younger two daughters to a birthday party held at a public park. The Mrs. usually covers such things but she is recovering from a recent surgery so I am stepping up to help out. My other built in helpers, my middle daughters and oldest son are all at the grandparents helping them get ready to move. So everyone seems to be busy. We might go to a local lake this afternoon for a little swimming and turtle chasing, we'll see.

Ran some errands.
Strawberry and I walked.
She did some snoozing in the sun.
Now she's snoozing on the love seat.
Got her new collar and tags on her this morning, so she's set for a year.
Got a dab of dishes to do up.
Wipe down counter tops, dust floors, clean bathroom left to do today.
Oh, yeah listening to the neighbors yell, scream and cuss at each other is always a highlight too.
Strawberry and I will be inside for awhile.
I go outside with her when it's time her to go take care of her business.

She said let the courts do what they have to do because her BP is real high, her exzema in broke out bad and driving her crazy itching, plus menapause hot flashes. She is not looking good ,you can se the stress in her face. She says its is all in The Lords hands now a very faithful Christian but still under stress.

Most of both sides of familiy have money yet none own a camper or travel trailer. They want to visit so we told them get a camper. plenty of fenced in yard for their kids and grandkids. We offered to set them up in one or even two large tents. BIL 'hubbys brother' said his wife doesn't do tents, well do a damn camper them mr. millionaire ' of ourde hubby did't tell him that he just said no company till we see. ' .Don't run all over the place then want to come here where we have been isiloated and infect us.I'm not sure whats going on or even if there is a such thing asCovid`9,but don't want to push my luck either just in case. I'm fighting anger and depression from it all and not patiant with spoiled kids much less grownups, neither is hubby he said no way any visits till we see whats up. .

Now gransdaughter found out her fiance had a stipper at his bachlor party, so she may call off the wedding her parents sunk all that non refundable money into. I said I'm not goign to say I told you but ' I told you so'.She said 'don't want to hear it'.So I didn't say it again.
Over $10,000 bucks down the drain if she calls it off or pandemic does it again. Already put off first date for June till late August because of pansemic.
Plus 15 yr old son thinks he is grown now giving them both problems.

Guess I'm selling my truck today!

Over a year ago I told a family friend that when I retire I might sell my truck. Friend says he's interested and let him know if I decide to sale. My truck registration expires the end of this month and I was depating with myself if I should renew it or sell the truck. This morning out of the blue the friend text, "Hey. Ready to sell your truck?" Text him back with pictures and the price. He has a three hour drive to get here and wants to see it this evening! OK. Guess he's really serious.

I washed, vacuum and fill the gas tank. He should be here in a few minutes.

Got lab results finally.
Iron count dropped again.
Here we go again.
By the way I have ever said I really really dislike liver, spinach right about now.
Have been eating it pretty regular since surgery in January.
Potassium was good.
Counts were pretty good.
Iron was low again.
Really don't want transfusions right now or at all if possible.

Bathroom is all painted..
Like a light gray.
:dunno:

She did great.
Now I gotta pull the old turlet.
Clean out the linen closet...boom...ready for new floor .

It's gray vinyl plank , laminate type...darker gray.
:dunno:

I personally don't care what color...that's her thang.

I gotta rehang the mirror and wall lights. Towel holder. Miniblind.

Thank y'all for the moral support that I know will be forthwith .

Went to the store to get groceries. Popped in to drop off a present for my friend's birthday. I'm going to take him to the hardware store in the morning to get supplies to work on his laundry room. He no longer has a truck. His fiance is having a rough 3rd trimester. I think she's something like 30 weeks along & they told her she's only the size of 22 weeks so the doctors have to keep an eye on her. She's at risk because she's so small due to fetal alcohol syndrome.

Found out another friend might have Covid. She had a fever and got sent home from work (at the casino) & it turned out one of her supervisors had Covid & still went to work while sick. I hope she doesn't have it & that it's just something mild. She's in her mid 20s but she's got major health issues. A mercury thermometer broke in her mouth when she was little & it damaged some of her organs.

HR never called my brother back to tell him if he still has a job. This weather hasn't been helping our sinuses & we've both been having headaches. Feeling exhausted now, but I could be worse.

Good luck Lazy L.

Thank you.

Easiest sell I've ever made, no negotiation and cash. He left with the truck, the Title, a full tank of gas and refunded money towards the engine oil change that is due in 50 miles.

Suddenly the wife is concerned on how I'm going to get around without the truck?!?! From over 40 years of marriage I interpret her concern as how inconvenience she might be if I use my car instead of her using whenever.

Going to walk in a few minutes! Yay, I've missed getting out!

Canned 10 pints of dill pickles yesterday using dill I grew, dried and forgot about before we moved into town.

Used my slow cooker as a smoker yesterday, for the first time. Worked great! Just cooked a long time.

After I feed the pups, I am going to pick up a case of mangoes at a local market for $3.40. What a sale! I know they are a bit of work to peel and cut and am trying to talk myself out of getting 2 cases for that reason. They are 3 for $1 and that is a great deal anyway!

Need to dust and clean baths today and then take it easy.

Marriage tip #3...

Do not ask your wife what we're having for supper , and when will it be ready.

While she's on a ladder painting the bathroom.

Looks like I'm gonna get hungry.

Jim
I would've told you: "Whatever YOU'RE making".
;) 🙃

We will never understand each other, you matirans don't get the minds of your Venus counterparts. No more than we understand your lack of ' feelings'.
Actually we'er a perfect match if you think about it,which I know you won'tt,lol.

Strawberry and I have walked several times already.
We have been getting up about daybreak, to walk while it's semi cool.
Or at least the humidity isn't up as much.
Well, if I wanted to leave this morning, I can't.
I'm blocked in by cement truck, a grey pickup, and a white Honda, mini bulldozer, several larger trucks hauling trailers, police car, ambulance. It's a Wonderful day in the neighborhood! Not!
