Thats a BIG bucket HB. Good to see Jake is doing the brake job. Save him a ton of money in the future

Thats so true! Hubby has kept these old vehicles going for years now, last mechnic we took it to rung off spak plug in the head.Hubby drilled it out put plug in it,Most mechnic are good though. But like hubby when he worked not cheap,we don't mind paying just don't have the money.

@hashbrown Send that handsome young man my way! I got a bunch of truck stuff for him to do for me 😉
Seriously though it’s nice to see the younger generations being taught to do this stuff for themselves.

I can put him out on loan! The kid has learned a lot while schools have been closed. I put him out on my construction crews and it's amazing how much stronger he's got. He's 12 but can work better than most men I know these days.

Sounds like a good plan to me! I could teach him some ranchin stuff while he‘s here 😉

I have worked with a lot of corgis in my day. Stubborn dogs to be sure. Try working with him to lay down and stay. Winter and Summer are corgi mixes and Summer has issues with her nails being trimmed with a grinder/sander. She prefers the clippers but only when I get her to lay on her side and calm down. Winter only allows us to use the grinder on her nails. She doesn't like the clippers.

Back when we had pure Pembroke Corgis one of them had to be rolled in a towel like a burrito and held by K just to trim his nails. He started hating the towel and biting it when we got it out for dog baths or nail trimming.

DH and I both have hand tremors, so doing it ourselves is out. His leash training is going fairly well but he pulls a lot. I will give it another week or so and maybe get a halti, which fixed the problem when we had a schnauzer that pulled a lot. Pretty sure we will get through this, one way or another!

Been a busy couple of days. I know I walked or did video each day. Video today.

Friday, I hard boiled eggs, washed dogs and spent a good part of the day in the gardens attempting to tame the weeds.
Yesterday, I helped a friend most of the day and picked up the tomatoes that were in my BIL's freezer.
Today will be Church, then Walmart produce for bell peppers and ACV for making Rotel tomatoes.
Also sweet potatoes as we have company coming next weekend bringing 3 dogs. That makes 6 dogs here for the weekend! Should be interesting. Will make extra sweet potato treats, cut up extra cheese bits, buy more baby carrots and have apples ready to cut.
Thawing all tomatoes today as tomorrow will be Rotel day and doing basic chores so I don't have to be too distracted or overwhelmed.

Until then try putting lease under one front leg, instant slow down.

America has " gone to the dogs " :).

Mo, the swelling sounds like something my mother was getting for awhile. It's why she has to sleep with her feet elevated. She used to take "water pills" until she got it under control. Not sure what the name of the medicine was. She has to drink a lot of water as well. She takes a whole bunch of vitamins & supplements as well as her regular medicines. Her heart is in better shape than mine.

Looks cloudy outside today but I'm staying inside because it's supposed to be hot.

I need to go to the grocery store probably on Monday or Tuesday. Taking a friend to look at a vehicle for parts on Monday. He got scammed by someone on FB selling a car & he found one that is being sold for parts that has all the parts his car is missing (or that are broken).

Wife met a friend of hers this morning for friends birthday. I stayed here and worked for a while. I had 2, maybe 3 new projects dumped on me Friday morning that have to have all the funds spent by mid September. So I'm jumping thru hoops trying to get parts located and quotes on the way so I know how much to ask for. I'm not even sure at this point the primary manufacture can meet that deadline. I'm working with him this week to figure that out.
After that we just read some, took a nice long nap and had fajitas for supper.

Winter use to pull a lot. I use vocal cues and a sudden tug of the leash to redirect her attention to me and where I am. She understands I want her with me and for the most part she is pretty good staying next to me with a relaxed leash. Summer follows Winter's lead so she is always just behind her even when we use a "Y" to tether them together.

I tried a halti back before we got Summer and Winter would do everything to get it off. I think a high collar (high on the neck- also called an Illusion collar) would have been next if she didn't start learning the cues. I started training her the way I have always trained hunting dogs and that made the difference because she is a mix (Pembroke Corgi and Springer Spaniel).

One thing I did learn when we had pure corgis before the girls were born is they are a working breed and need to be worked daily or they are going to take it out on you, your family or your home. People forget that corgis are herding dogs because they are smaller. A lot of stupid young people get them because they are cute and small and don't realize they need to work to be happy. A lot of corgis end up at rescues because people think they are "apartment" dogs.

We went to Church, then went to our local Mexican restaurant .
I had Monterey chicken...lots of bacon on it.
Sooo good.

Went home rested , reading forum.

Got an appointment with cardiologist tomorrow at 11 am, leave home at about 9:45.

Then lunch, maybe shop for an Air fryer. She wants to shop for bathroom decorations.

K fixed the fence and I put in a work order for the rest of the fence to get replaced. This is the second time we told the landlord about the fence falling apart (weathered not our dogs doing). I wanted to make sure the gate that Winter broke was fixed before asking the whole fence be replaced. I didn't want to be charged or accused of letting my dogs damage the whole fence line.

Still going through our stuff and adding more to the donate boxes. Still waiting for Goodwill to open up for donations. I will have enough to stock an entire store in donations before they open up again!

Working to get ready for school in a few weeks. Not sure what the public school is doing but I really don't care since we homeschool. The neighborhood kids are going to hate having to go back but again not my concern.

Spent some time today sweeping up cat fur and cleaning their favorite perches in the house. The oldest likes to sit on the ledge that sits above the kitchen counter and demand to be pet. Her dish is there since she refuses to eat with the other four. She is a spoiled cat to be sure.

We didn't know what he was when we got him from the shelter. They said he was not a puppy, wouldn't get bigger and was housebroken. They were wrong on all counts. He is more than we bargained for, but we will work through it!

Reason for the harness is that he was about choked to death around neck, one leg and tail. Don't want to use a collar as he still has no hair and scars where he was tied by neck.

Said goodbye to two grandkids. They have a 600 mile car ride home.

Tried to watch Sunday's service online live. Equipment or thier Internet speed cause a buffering pause every ten seconds. We gave up. Wife had missed the previous recorded service so we watch it instead with no buffering problems.

Took the wife out to eat at her choice of resturant. Then we went to her mom's house to get a car load of "clutter" the wife "needs".

Hunting Lego pieces and other toys the g-kids didn't find when they picked up. Putting the house back in order.

Collect eggs.

Had the grand daughter today.
Her dad's day to work.
All in all pretty good day.
Only one small melt down instead of three or four.
My feet are elevated, slightly swollen.
Grand daughter and I exercised several times today, trying to burn off her extra energy.
We went shopping.
Her dad's house needed a coffee pot for Granny(me).
So got inexpensive version of Keruig.
Wal*Mart's brand Mainstay $20.
Also got coffee, hot chocolate, she got two new books for being such a good girl in Wal*Mart.
Still reading Introductions.

Cleaned out the garage with the grandkids. Have about 3 truckloads that needs to go to the dump. The last owner left piles of stuff here, but I saved the 100 yr old doors and original windows, light fixtures, door latches and knobs. They are pretty cool looking. One more pod coming tomorrow, and another getting picked up. Worked in the basement on sorting food storage for a few hours. It's a good afternoon work project because it's not hot in there. Food storage boxes are stacked all over the place, so it's a challenge. Got the tp shelved, soups, beans, and coffee. I've got hours more work to do in there. Granddaughter joined me and cranked up the music. Then went to cousins house for dinner.

Good you could drop in on someone else for dinner, Amish! Having to clean out the garage from someone else's mess is the pits but probably a lot easier than doing your own! It's fun to find treasures.

I really need help doing mine.
Hoping on my days off to get the big fan in there in the a.m. and work a couple few hours at a time.
There is a tool drawer thing on the floor with socket wrench etc things in it and it is too heavy and bowing in the middle.
Finally got a couple guys and teens to come and take a few things away, made $19 on the metal and donated it to the teen's church group.

We were the only ones there.

Then lunch at Texas Roadhouse

After lunch I tagged along with wife to Home Depot, Hobby lobby, Kirkland's, Michael's, Bed And Bath.

Then home
We got some heavy rain.

Decided to order a Air fryer online after looking at a few.

I can tell you that every body , yes everybody is wearing mask , because no store will let anybody in without one.

Jim

We drove about 1100 miles this weekend. It was a lot of sitting but we’re glad we went. We went and checked out an area neither of us had been to in a state where masks are not required. It was wonderful. We made a big loop among sane people.
100* here today. Tomorrow is supposed to be 103*. Dug my carrots and onions. More carrots up the mountain.

I was sitting around in my chair licking my wounds from the day kinda of looking at Facebook and watching the news and saw one of my friends post about Basil Jelly. My wife was cooking dinner and I showed the post to her I saw her head out to the garden and an hour later I had 12 pints of Basil Jelly! I can't wait for it to cool to give it a try.

Pretty jelly! Bet it would be good on a cream cheese, bit of tomato on a cracker.
Husband going in for a covid test today before his appt in Denver next week. The cases are light here, so you either have to have symptoms or a doctor's request. Had to get a request sent from Denver. Some moving of boxes and housework today. The unmarried Amish lady coming to stay with the kids while we're gone for 3 nights will be coming by to meet them this afternoon, and get a tour around here where everything is. I think they'll enjoy her, she's a sweetie. I know her mom well. She's in between jobs, so lucky to get her here. Possibly pick up mom today, possibly not...depends on her mood and if she wants to go out. She's in a mega fight with my sis in Florida, for no good reason at all, so maybe not. Have more food storage to unbox in the basement, and the pod that didn't arrive yesterday is to be here today.
