Prayers for you Amish and hubs, Mo, and LL & dad.

Urban, lab for blood work had a total of 2 folks in a room that'll seat 30 easy. Tech said they had already ran 45 thru before I got there. I hit a good time. Actual office everyone was spread out well and wasn't near full. Dr even fixed me up with samples for 3 months on 2 meds I take. HUGE cost savings there. Drug guy had just showed up so she did me good. This was just a check up and get refills going. I see her every 4-6 months.

Last night Mom had to take Dad to ER. His heart rate was 147. About 1:30-2AM they transported him back over to Kadlec where they will keep him a day or two to make sure heart rate stays under control. They said it's not uncommon with what he had done. Why do these things happen at 10PM rather than 10AM? I got about 1 1/2 hours sleep last night. Running on fumes. He called me this morning to let me know what room he is in. He doesn't like the food at all so complains about that but at least now he knows it's just to maintain and not major mystery.
Tomorrow I get to drive 9-10 hrs. making a big loop around the state - yay!:sarcasm: Actually, if I get some sleep tonight, should be fine.

Hope he gets better and have a safe tripLadyL. :huggs:

Thanks all. I’m heading to bed here soon but talked to him just before I showered. He sounded pretty good. They evidently have his heart rate leveled out because now he can just take a pill and they are done “poking him with that juice”😂. If it remains regular, he might get to come home tomorrow- it’s a might but that’s still okay news.
Jim Happy Birthday to Mrs. 🎈. I hope for her birthday she gets rid of a stone! Blessings to you both.
Mo you take it easy on yourself.
BP glad you’re okay.
Amish Good that you (2) found a reasonable doctor. That alone can be a challenge.
Meer thanks for the hug. We all need those.
I know I’m missing folks- sorry.

Goodnight and sweet dreams @Meerkat! :huggs:

Good evening everyone.
Made it to the city today and was able to find the parts I needed and have been unsuccessful at getting correctly online for our trailer. Scored from a very nice parts guy who had taken the “used” parts out of a new trailer someone upgraded to fancy stuff. He said it would have just sat on their shelf so it was a win win for us both. Gave me a screaming deal on it all. Very grateful and will be writing a review for them.
Been quite a while since I went to the city and it’s very sad. Homeless camps all over the place. Haven’t seen anything like it since I went to SoCal to visit family. Had no idea it had gotten so bad. Most stuff is trashed. Camps everywhere. Fences down with people just lying around. Really was sad to see what was nice areas just wrecked.
Currently looking at the fires and mapping a way to our tractor. I was wrong before. It’s about 3 hours (because of slow speeds for trucks with trailers) away vs 4 so that’s a plus. That will knock 2 hours off the trip. Thinking VERY hard about taking the trailer and hoping and praying I can make the tractor fit safely............. I don’t think hubby is happy about my plan mostly because it’s a new trailer and we haven’t attempted to haul the tractor on it yet because it’s so darn big. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Really need a bigger truck for it but I’ll make do. The dealer definitely isn’t in any hurry. I think it’s the tractor company not being willing to reimburse them for just having it hauled solo. Temps are heating back up again. Really need to get it out of the sun. Frustrated to the max at this point. So much to get done with it and it’s just sitting there. It’s wearing on me for some reason. Plus not knowing what is going to happen with the fires and all and if more start...... I just want it home safe.
Have to get to the vet soon and pick up supplies to work the calves in preparing for weaning. Haven’t wanted to do it with the extreme heat and now the smoke. Wasps are extra bad right now too and I seem to get very sick now when I get stung so best to avoid them as much as possible.
Think tomorrow I’ll get up early again and head up the hill to town and order new tires and wheels for my truck. Need to get them before hunting so have to give plenty of time for all the delays we may face. In the evening I’ll probably evaluate the other truck (my hauling truck) and the trailer for a run to pick up “mommas Ferrari” aka the tractor maybe Thursday. Thinking leave early morning to be there when they open then drive home and miss all the traffic and just get to bed later than normal. Hope y’all had a good day and have a great hump day!

Thanks Meerkat. The dentist called when I was at the store buying buckets and supplies for the storm. Tropical Storm Marco passed-- took internet out for awhile but not the power. I filled multiple 5 gallon buckets with water & got a few smaller buckets to use to scoop the water to flush the toilet when the power goes out from Laura. Dentist bumped my appointment up to 8am instead of noon so I have to leave a little before 7am. I may just have them pull the tooth & worry about the crown later so I can make it back home before the winds & rain get worse.
My best friend & his new baby & some friends who evacuated from near Lake Charles area are staying with my friend's grandfather in a brick house. My friend's mother is staying in his house- her boyfriend drove off & left her in their dog to go stay with his mother & left her stranded at the trailer so my friend picked her up. She's a drug addict so I need to go grab all of my tools from his house tomorrow so she can't steal them. I'm going to say it's so they won't get damaged in any flooding.
I set my alarm for 6:30am. Mom woke me up around 2am saying she had low blood sugar (she says that when she's hungry & wants an excuse to ask for food). My brother woke me up before that to ask if the storm had passed already. So, looks like I won't be getting much sleep (if any) before my dental appointment. Haven't been able to get back to sleep. I can be up and out the door in 5 min. My mom is a lot slower- can take her 45min. Not even sure why it takes that long, but it does. She doesn't wear makeup, but she does always insist on brushing her hair and putting it up. I run my fingers through my hair & consider it brushed. LOL.
I'm hoping the hurricane will downgrade before reaching my area or that it will divert away & not do as much damage. When Rita hit years ago we had no power for weeks. If that's the case, we may end up having to stay in a hotel & go back home to check the animals and feed them. I tried to get Mom to get a generator months ago but she wouldn't listen.

Good luck DoubleR. Hope hornets stay far away from you & that the tractor will fit on the trailer.

@zannej I’m sending prayers your out of the path and your dental stuff goes quickly and as painless as possible. That’s a lot going on. Being tired doesn’t help things either.

Thanks 😊 Working nights has helped dramatically with the hornets. They don’t tend to attack at night and I can spray their little buns and get rid of them. I try very hard to find all their little hides and either fill them for the future or continue to check early and get on top of the queens. They do outsmart me though from time to time. 😉 Especially in the handling equipment. They seem to take over in days.
I really hoping hauling the trailer up isn’t a wasted trip. I wish we had gotten the trailer a bit sooner and knew if it fit or not. It was only supposed to be for emergencies locally. Size wise it “should” but we all know how that goes. Especially adding the extra size with the loader plus the filled tires. Time will tell. Always an adventure.
@zannej take care of yourself and your family/friends and stay safe. Please keep us posted as you can on how your doing.

Good morning, Hey all I hope everyone has a good day,
Double R, I hope you get your tractor home safe, I was born and raised in very southern CA and every time I go back it makes me sad to see what has happened.
Zannej, I hope you can get you dental work done and the storm passes without much damage to you and yours. Sorry, to hear you have to deal with the addict stuff, had a brother-n-law who got hooked, you just couldn't tell him anything; he ended up spending most of his life in state housing.
Hey Bacpacker, glad to hear your doctors visit went well.
Amish and Phidaeux, I hope your spouses have good days, I know you spend much of you time looking out for them and I tip my hat to you.
Meercat, snappy1, MrMeer and LadyLocust, hope you have a great day.

I got word that the parts I ordered on the 1st got shipped, should be here by the end of the week! I'll take it! At the rate things are going I will have everything I need to finish the job a the house by Labor Day :) Some of the stuff is 3 months late and I may just have to do work arounds, but I can see an end.
Hope to finish up in time to do some canning, we usually do a little canning in the fall and winter.
Having everything in disarray has really taken a toll on the wife's nerves and she wants everything done yesterday. She can't understand why you have to wait for the parts to arrive before you can finish the job...

Been really busy here and catching up with work that needed doing around the home. DH has been confirmed to have another skin cancer on one of his hands and will have to get it cut out on the 9th of September. It will require they do a larger than normal incision to get it out as apparently he has very tight skin as I do and they battle to get the wounds back together and stitched without making a bigger cut. That will put him out of action for a few weeks again.

Yesterday we stacked some of the smaller firewood logs we cut previously in the lean-to shed and split 1 1/2 three metre long firewood piles and stacked them in the shed too.

Today we have weeded 3 garden beds and boy were they overgrown as the birds have been busy dropping weed seeds everywhere and we have had a lot of rain too. Still got a few more garden beds to finish yet but getting close thank goodness. In the afternoon we loaded the other half a row of firewood of smaller logs into the shed.

I also did a load of laundry and brought it back in and we have just finished washing the dishes, cleaning the benches and drying them and putting them away.

Strawberry tried to do battle with toad this morning.
For all her trouble she got sprayed, there for awhile it looked like she had foaming at the mouth.
We have walked, both of us.
I'm tired of this splint already.
Will have to take it off, so I can wash dishes.
Don't want nosey cousin coming in to help me.
Things have tendency to disappear when she helps out.
Guess this splint is doing what it's supposed to be doing.
My arm muscles are getting an workout because of it.
Just in different way.
It made getting dressed interesting.
By the way, the splint is on my left forearm, hand up to my elbow.
It's going to be pain in the rear, because I happen to be left handed too.
Not supposed to lift anything over 5 pounds without, no repetive motion without it.
I'm crocheting with it on-slowing me down a bit.
Also hand stitching quilt with it on.
Supposed to sleep with it on.
Everybody have a great day.
I'm going to go wash dishes, so I can take it off for a bit.
6 weeks is going to feel like forever.

Zanne glad your staying safe. Hope the storm isn't as bad as they predict.

Walked first this morning, fed dogs and took for walk outside fence (perimeter check). Used the leaf blower on the front porch and driveway and then ran to local grocery for hamburger to can tomorrow into taco meat.
Still have to go to post office with one item that DH had to get a box for today.
Still need to fertilize roses that were cut back and cut up cheese for dog treats. Then calling it a day except for regular chores!

Thanks for the wel-wishes.
Mo, I hope you get the split off soon.
Mom was actually up & almost ready when I got up. The front door sticks so I had to open it for her. There didn't appear to be any other patients. The staff were slightly surprised to see me as they weren't sure if I got the message. They said my mother was very nice on the phone when she answered & talked to them. I brought all my medicines to show them & told them what each one was for. They had to use different type of anesthesia because I'm allergic to one of the types they use. I was mostly numb by the time they started poking needles in. Dentist was apologizing saying "I know it stings bad" and after she was done with the needles I told her it didn't sting. I said I've felt more pain from picking between my teeth with a toothpick. Extraction felt strange. They had to cut & break the tooth apart to get it out & one of the roots was curved. I told the dentist I wasn't worried about the procedure but I was worried about the hurricane. I mentioned the water well situation. She's such a sweetheart. She gave me 3 gallons of distilled water (I can use some to rinse my mouth). She wouldn't let me carry any of the gallons though. Said it was heavy lifting. I tried to explain that a little gallon is not heavy to me.
Went to Samsclub to grab dinner for tonight & some more bottled water for drinking. Mom managed to get it into the cart by herself. I put a 25lb bag of cat food in the cart because it's not heavy to me. I ended up having to put the water in the truck though. I also had to push mom's riding cart because it ran out of battery.
I went to the post office again & one of the workers who normally is pretty short with me was feeling chatty. She asked about my job so I told her I'm a caregiver. I talk weird with the gauze so I told her I'd just had a tooth pulled. She seemed surprised that I was walking around doing business as usual. I commented that the toohache before the pulling was much worse. She'd had a tooth pulled before so she knew. I mentioned it was worse than kidney stones & she said she'd had those too and agreed that tooth pain was worse. She told me to be careful not to get "dry socket" & to drink lots of water.
Popped in to see my friend- his mom was not there and has changed her mind about where she wants to stay. Some other friends who will likely lose their trailer (that they just finished paying off last week) are staying there. Haven't seen them in awhile so it was great to see them. My brother is over there visiting with them now. He had to carry in some of the heavy stuff for me.
I've changed the gauze on the tooth multiple times now.
Lack of sleep is starting to creep up on me so I'm probably going to change the gauze and take a nap.

Made me a set of Ranger Beads. Tomorrow I will figure out what my pace count is @100 meters and I will have a non technical way to approximate distance when walking. I plan to use the pace app on my phone just to see how close it is.

If nothing else it will make me take a walk lol.

Took the grandkids to town to open a savings acct for them. Encouraging them to save money for a car. Tomorrow is the first day of High School here for them and they are anxious and exciting. It's been since March since they had school, and this is a new state. At least here they can go in person, for the time being. Granddaughter had work. We went to the thrift store, the hardware store, and the Mennonite Salvage store. After lunch, loaded up the old truck with all the tires it could hold, and went to the dump. There's still a stack of them here, for the next load. Stopped by the Amish bulk store after the dump (husband wanted a deli sandwich there), and got a bunch of empty pails and lids, some ranch and italian bulk dry mix, more yeast, and odds and ends. They were cleaned out of canning lids. Was just there last week, and there must of been a dz sleeves of over 200 of them. So someone got smart. Grandkids are needing to make lunches for tomorrow, pack a backpack, and be on the bus early. Little granddaughter only has a meet the teacher tomorrow at the grade school. Then she starts on Friday. Then, wow! We won't have any children in the house from 7am to 3pm. How weird is that?

... wife's nerves and she wants everything done yesterday. She can't understand why you have to wait for the parts to arrive before you can finish the job...

I was remodeling our bathroom. Had four feet between the tub and the stairwell wall for the sink. Asked the wife to pick out the cabinet with the understanding it had to be four feet or less. She bought home a six foot cabinet and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t make it fit!

😆 😆😆 It's NOT funny, but it's the life we live.... I have put in a woodburning stove, 2 bathrooms, and now this and each one gets funnier (NOT) than the last. Wife can't do stairs so I put in a cordless door bell with the ringers downstairs and at my desk, so she can call me at the push of a button.... IF YOU ever get the urge to do something like that, quick run to your work bench, grab a hammer and hit you thumb as hard as you can.... Honestly, You'll be saving yourself a lot of pain in the future... ;) gotta go, I'm hearing bells

I bought a new tent that will fit the 4 of us and the dogs. The tent we currently have is from my single days and I used it for renn faires. It is a 4 person tent but I could just fit in it with one other person and all our faire gear. K and I used it once when we first got married and it was clear then it needed to be replaced but could be used if it didn't rain.

Next will be to replace our diamond steel belted cooler from the 50s. The steel is separating from the plastic inner parts of the cooler and I can't fix it. The plastic Coleman cooler we have was a dumpster treasure I found right after I joined PS. It needed a new drain plug which is a $5 replacement part. Our neighbors at the time thought it was no good and tossed it out. I saw it just needed the drain plug and grabbed it. $5 and 5 minutes later and we got a working cooler. Not my preferred color (our camp gear is red) but it is very useable! I use it every time we go to Costco to cart back our frozen or refrigerated goods. We do need a second one for camping or if we need to empty the freezer.
