Busy 24 hours! Last night I up dated all the software on my laptop as well as encrypting a couple of dozen files. I also printed all necessary passwords and user id's on to an index card in tiny print. I trim up the printed portion with scissors and stash it in a convenient hidden place. I will be using public wifi on my trip, so better safe than sorry. I'll use my firewall to lock all unnecessary software anyway. It runs win10, more holes than swiss cheese but every little bit helps.

My vacuum sealer came last week so today I vacuum sealed 8 bone in ribeye's, 72 wings and 20 catfish fillets. Next time I catch burger, strip steak and chops on sale I'll finish topping off my freezer. I'll be good to go on meat until the holidays.

Got the chickens stocked with plenty of food and water until I get back from seeing the eye surgeon. The laundry is done for my trip, just have to throw a few items in a bag tonight. Tomorrow all I have left to do is get a shower and hit the road.

Tonight I'm going to rest. I never liked leaving preparations for a trip for the night before. I find the trip goes better if I rest the last 18 hours, take it easy, watch a little tv and get a good nights sleep.
Friday night I picked a row of kindeys beans, need to get them shelled but got a fan blowing on them to dry them out better.Saturday wife wasn't feeling good, so we held off going where we planned. Drove South a ways looking for some maters. Didn't find anything other than a watermelon. Got back to town and went to a small market we go to on occasion. They have several bushels of canning maters, so we got one. Yesterday I went to the funeral home for my buddy at work that passed away. Back to work today and was slammed which I was expecting. Got a bunch done. Ended the day going thru my guys desk and locker to round up all his personal stuff. Need to take that to his wife. After supper wife picked okra and green beans till dark. I got about 2/3 of the row of great northern beans picked.

Hope the wife is better today. Glad yall found some tomatoes and you have crops to pick.We are in a bad lull and no crops at all. Maybe I'll get up and going again soon .
I'm just burned out on all work and no play along with news.

After work today, I prepared 14 pints of tomatoes 🍅. I gave another bowl that I need to process for sauce but ran out of time and umph! Will get these pints in the canner tomorrow and maybe start on the saucers. And need to pick more.
@Peanut Praying for a successful surgery and a safe trip.
@MoBookworm1957 She’s beautiful! Good luck with the vamps. Take some food and water with you.

OMG! K and I just had to bathe the dogs! They came in from their after dinner run and they stunk to high heaven! Since they sleep in our bed at night I insisted we wash them. K washed Summer and I took Winter. While he did that I found what they rolled in- a dead skunk that was just the pelt and paws. It had been dead a long time but they found it and rolled on it! At least the smell was more like super strong musky ferret than skunk spray.

Damn country dogs!

Phideaux, Peanut, and Mo...hoping you all have a good day tomorrow. We'll be heading out to Wichita to have a consultation with a spine specialist. I hope she is not a jerk.
Got a call this evening from some old friends of ours. The guy used to work for husband. They're in Arizona, and their son in college has Covid, and parents got it. They are all at home trying to recover. On day eight. Husband was on high blood pressure meds and was told that covid is less severe when you are on it. They are doing ok, and hopefully will not have to be admitted.

The kid hasn't been feeling well. Palpitations, chest pain and another 4 day migraine. Had to take her up to the electrophysiologist for testing. On the way home I stopped at Albertsons and they had the family packs of hamburger (about 5lbs each) and the family packs of pork chops buy one get one free. I bought both. Now I have to divide it up for the freezer.

This fire thing has made us think about BOB just in case. We have gotten rain this year so not too dry and thats a good thing. But Floridacn get real dry real quick so we try to stay prepared. No way can we stay in smoke, too mny years smoking to handle that. :confused2:.
I've gained 5lb.s this past year and so has he not tha he will admit it,:). I use scale at least twice a week.
I keep exercising so that helps too. But eating more ice cream and made a cake last week.
He put some compost on new blueberry plants. Picked some more figs off tree but get fewer now everyday.

Our figs are slowing down too! I'm actually glad this year. We had so many!

Drive safely, Peanut! Hope the vampires get what they want from you, Mo!

I woke up at 3 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Darn steroids!

Will do my video shortly as it is raining this morning. Have to take Peanut Butter to the beauty parlor, stop at Walmart for a pick up, day old bread store and Dollar Tree.
Might cook liver, bacon and onions when I get home. Cooked and mashed some turnips yesterday to use as potatoes.
At some point I need to get outside and fertilize rose garden that I cut back yesterday, and spread grass seed where front garden was.
That should be enough for today!

Yesterday, I “got” to sit in a 2 hour meeting on diversity and encouraging diversity through financial persuasion. Now, I think everyone should be treated fairly and equally, but that being said I also feel that anytime you push one group in front of another, you are in fact being unfair. I must be getting old and grumpy.

While working in the garden last night I noticed caterpillars are back... I think am going to actually spray them and then thin the garden.... I hate having to go to the nuclear option.....

I also noticed that the Squirrels are having a field day in the garden, who knew they like to dig up carrots? Anyway, I pulled the trigger on a new Air Rifle, it should be here by next week, and the week after that it is actually Squirrel season here. Then they can make the transition from pest to "buffalo wings" :)

I did notice that since I put a line of electrical fense 4" above my flower bed border at the front and side of the house, there are much fewer holes and the
dogs & cats have quit crapping in the beds.....

I hope the whales weren't hurt when they collided with the boat. That must have been a terrible experience for all involved. Poor boaters had no idea there were whales there and poor whales had no idea about the boat.

Hiwall, I'm supposed to be getting a crown tomorrow as well as a tooth pulled. Although, I'm not sure there's enough tooth left for the crown bc the endodontist really hollowed it out trying to get at that last root. I'm more concerned with getting the last tooth pulled though. I hope it will come out in one piece. I also hope they don't cancel because of the storm. There's a tropical storm watch (expected high winds) for my Parish. The dentist's office is clear of the storm I think. I just hope it's safe to drive there tomorrow. I'll need to leave a little before 11am. I'm half-tempted to call & see if they can do the tooth-pulling today.

Teri, I hope your kid gets feeling better soon.

Thank you Jim and hope the wifes surgery Thursday helps with the pain.

Just ordered grocery for delivery today, some to take to beach for lunch ,snacks.
Also yesterday a shark attacked a surfer a the beach we go to, but its nothing unusual this time of year. Will make me think more while in the water if I get in.
This is not promising

Shark attack numbers have been as out of place as a fish out of water this year, where the number of suspected attacks are low, but the total number of shark-related fatalities is already more than double 2019′s totals.

Well the vampires got their 4 tubes of blood.
My new glasses were adjusted.
Saw my Neurologist for migraines, numbness with whole left arm going numb.
Am trying new migraine pill to see if it works better than the other treatment.
My left forearm is now residing in a splint.
Makes it hard to eat, write, crochet, beings I'm left handed.
Hopefully the splint will help, because we ain't going fishing for that pinched nerve.
Have appointment with Podirist(foot doctor) coming up for problems with feet swelling.
Have an appointment at local hospital to see Cardiologist(heart is out of rhythm.).
That's all I know.
Oh, yeah!
My test that I did couple weeks ago came back neg.
Which was a relief to know.
Walked about 2 miles inside the VA today.
Will be cutting out some popisicles and sweets not that I make anything like that very often.

Last night Mom had to take Dad to ER. His heart rate was 147. About 1:30-2AM they transported him back over to Kadlec where they will keep him a day or two to make sure heart rate stays under control. They said it's not uncommon with what he had done. Why do these things happen at 10PM rather than 10AM? I got about 1 1/2 hours sleep last night. Running on fumes. He called me this morning to let me know what room he is in. He doesn't like the food at all so complains about that but at least now he knows it's just to maintain and not major mystery.
Tomorrow I get to drive 9-10 hrs. making a big loop around the state - yay!:sarcasm: Actually, if I get some sleep tonight, should be fine.

That stinks, LL. Hope your dad heals quickly and that you get some sleep.
Went with husband to a new spine surgeon. He is super high risk, so they want to try an epidueral on his back. Then if he wants the cyst in his spine removed, he needs special permission from the pulmonary doc. At least the spine surgeon wasn't a jerk. She wasn't optimistic, and didn't sugar coat anything, but she was ok.
Yardwork today. Couldn't see our front porch, not that we ever use it. We use the side entry and porch. But the front is visible from the road, so I cut out everything, bushes, weeds, small trees blocking the porch. Now it needs sanding and some paint. Put a rocking chair out there and a big pot of flowers.
