I felt sort of lightheaded & like my body is heavy & hard to move today. General feeling of malaise & not sure why. Reheated leftovers for Mom, cleaned the litterbox, & napped most of the day. I think I stayed up too late watching videos but I don't usually feel like this from just being tired. I feel it in my head-- I think barometric pressure changes from the incoming storm. I hope my dental appointment doesn't get canceled due to a tropical storm.

Snappy, I've never had fresh grape juice. I bet it tastes great. I hope you get off prednisone soon.

Mo, I'd love to see pictures of the swiffer covers. I'm trying to envision them.

Urbanhunter, that food sounds delicious.

I think I'm going back to nap for a bit after I take my antibiotics again. I can't remember if I took my daily meds today though...
Got one of my cats sitting on me & purring for me so it helps. He was standing across the room yowling at me until I walked over and picked him up. He didn't feel like walking for some reason & wanted me to carry him. He does that a lot. He mostly likes to ride my shoulders.

Had a great visit with bro and SIL. Went up the mountain and picked blackberries, a couple plums, a few apples, and a few green beans. On the way back stopped and saw the folks. Dad is looking better and is getting his sense of humor back. Mom looks tired. It will be a couple long weeks before things settle down.
Did a couple batches of tomatoes using the tatler canning lids. Think I’ve got them figured out and like them. Also made a batch of pink plum jelly (did I type this yesterday?).
Not much sleep last night. Will head to bed earlier tonight.

@LadyLocust , glad your dad is getting better back to being himself , feeling better.
I sympathize with your mom , I been taking care of my wife for over 2 weeks. Plus everything else that has to be done....it takes it tool.

Jim
You’re a good man Charlie Brown! A couple more days. Praying for success on Thursday.

I hope your dad gets well soon, Lady L. Same with your wife, Jim. I'm a fulltime caregiver but my mother hasn't needed too much care lately. Since she lost weight she hasn't been falling as much & I don't have to help her put her shoes and socks on anymore. She can even make herself some sandwiches.

I'm planning to force myself to clean the pantry & start more cleanup in the kitchen, putting stuff away that has been sitting in boxes, finding places for stuff that has been in the drying rack, wiping out the cabinets, cleaning higher up on the cabinet doors, etc. I need to pick one area of focus at a time though. I'm bad about starting and not finishing an area-- I get distracted and move on to something else.

5 inches wide 10 inches long about the same size I do when I make "Lego" block blankets.
1 cover is semi smooth, the other has bobble(popcorn ) stitch it attracts more dust and dog hair for some reason.
I'll see if I can download several of them and put on knitting, crochet thread.
If not I'll see if Lady Locust or Jim will post.
By the way if you don't take your medicine properly and on time(like on schedule) it will mess up your body.
Just a word of advice.

Yesterday turned out to be a good day with a few exceptions:
The kitchen was operational for the first time since MAY, it not complete by any means but having a sink, fridge, and working stove are some of life's little pleasures.

Meals were great,

Lunch we had our home-canned Meat Barley soup with toast
For dinner we had everything on my list. We had peach cobbler(s), but the peaches were purchased the day after the recall :) Wife made 4 individual mini-cobblers so she could control the sugar in hers... they were awsome

I got calls from all the kids and grandkids :)

When I called my 90 year old step-dad, he was so happy when he answered the phone. He even remembered that it was my b-day, saying now you are almost old... ;) Like me.

On the exceptions side:
When I was giving the wife a bath (I have to rap her IV port and the openings to her medical devices to keep them dry) I hooked my little toe on her walker brake. Little toe point 90 degrees away from foot and toe nail pointed straight up (Kinda hinged at the back). It turned a blackish gray; I trimmed the nail, taped the toe to the one next to it and then wrapped the whole foot, but couldn't put on a sock. I made a pair of "bunny slippers" out of an old pair of tennis shoes (cut off the tongue and made a slit next to the little toe. Hey, I could walk. It is better today, still a little tender.

My right arm is still tender and that kept me from doing heavy work.... Time is not on our side.

I put my elbow through the wall of my old car tent that I have been using as a staging area :( , Now I need to decide if it is worth getting another one to finish up my projects (they only last about 2 years and the wife wantes it gone). This is one that I know I can't win...

Hope your toe heals quickly, Urbanhunter! Not fun when you can't get around like you want!

I hope you get off prednisone soon.

I have two days on a full dose after today, then I am breaking one pill in half and then breaking the last pill into 4 pieces so I can scale back gradually.

Will walk in a few minutes, feed dogs and take them for walk. Already started laundry.
Next is to label and put away jars of grape juice and pumpkin applesauce.
After that to cut back roses and throw down grass seed where front garden was.
No cooking today!

22 today. Hope we are as happy as you guys at 54 years of marriage. Big hugs sent to you both :huggs:

You will ...

If

You don't give up,

You keep working at it. It gets easier every day.

Always act like you just started dating.

See each other as you did when you met.

Respect each other.

Be a giver not a taker.

Made our mistakes but worked thru them.

That's experience talking right there.

Today , we will drive the 40 miles each way , to never get out of car at hospital , so wife can get another covid test.

May take the scenic route home just for mental relaxation. If she is comfortable , may drive around the lake .

May stop by Arby's, Wendy's , or whatever she would like for lunch. She is done with all the antibiotics, and her appetite is coming back.

But she is still having a lot of pain ,
We are hoping that will end Thursday , when they go after the stone again.

I went 20 miles yesterday to pick up ribs and bar-b-que for late lunch.

Did it by giving the Corvette some serious exercise on some curvy back roads.. really worked up an appetite.

I don't think the Vette will be leaving anytime soon.

It's already been one of those days. We had an officer involved incident Sunday morning that resulted in a suspect's arm being broken. A suspect who is now claiming to be the victim of systematic racism. And if that was not enough we also had an officer test positive for COVID-19 this morning. He worked Friday & Saturday and unknowingly exposed about 15-20 of us. So now along with some other employees, I am on "office and home quarantine" for 10 days. Good times.

In other news I don't live in Kenosha, WI. So that's good.

@phideaux Thank you for the wise words. That’s how we’ve made it this far. Glad we’re doing it right.
Had a good anniversary weekend. Nothing exciting. Gave him his quilt and his reaction was worth it all. Guess he’s ok I couldn’t “fix” his old one. Lol I sure do love that man. 22 year and counting!
Got a lot more done on the travel trailer. New fires up by camp but so far not in camp like last year so we’re still hopeful to get away and maybe even put some meat in the freezer.
Trying to go back to sleep. Just woke up to street racing in front of the house. Need to do a fire check anyways I guess. I smell smoke but obviously that’s nothing new at the moment. Had lightening again last night. Was an impressive show but some was right over us. Rarely see such big lightening. Wonder how many new fires started.
Was really hoping when I checked my phone there would be a message about the tractor coming home. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it I guess.

We had some of that serious lightning on Saturday ,
First time ever that it sounded like it struck the house, but I know it didn't.
Didn't think much about it till Sunday morning, it was too warm in the house. To he AC wasn't working, checked breaker, ok. Went outside to check wires in disconnect box. Opened disconnect box , it kicked on , been good since.
Also, the garage breaker in the garage was tripped,
Reset it, all is good.

Can't find anything it struck . But I know it was very close to house.

Wierd.

Jim

This fire thing has made us think about BOB just in case. We have gotten rain this year so not too dry and thats a good thing. But Floridacn get real dry real quick so we try to stay prepared. No way can we stay in smoke, too mny years smoking to handle that. :confused2:.
I've gained 5lb.s this past year and so has he not tha he will admit it,:). I use scale at least twice a week.
I keep exercising so that helps too. But eating more ice cream and made a cake last week.
He put some compost on new blueberry plants. Picked some more figs off tree but get fewer now everyday.

Did some unboxing, tons of laundry. More today since I shouldn't be doing it on Sunday and hanging it out. Husband and I went to the dump and unloaded a bunch of old junk left in one of the garages. Now we need to get all the old tires loaded that were left around and take them to the dump. Granddaughter just left for work, cussing neighbor boy needs to come back over and pickup all the toys of his he left in the yard....little drumset, a skateboard, and a scooter. Working on the upstairs guest bedroom. It's turning into a room with my closet, since there are no closets downstairs. Beautiful day out today

Barometric pressure is still messing with me. My sinuses do not like it.
Just made lunch for Mom.
Checked on all the kitties. I'm going to have to refill the dog waterer soon.
My brother got me a headset with cat ears so I can listen to my music without the speakers blasting through the wall- plus it has a microphone so I can use a voice chat thing on discord (if I can figure out how to use it).
I did a little bit of cleaning around the microwave but still need to do more.

Thanks for the advice, Mo. I've been trying to take my medicine the same time every day. I got a little confused because the labels wore off my weekly medicine holder so I couldn't tell which day of the week I'd last used. I will have to write new labels on it again.

Busy 24 hours! Last night I up dated all the software on my laptop as well as encrypting a couple of dozen files. I also printed all necessary passwords and user id's on to an index card in tiny print. I trim up the printed portion with scissors and stash it in a convenient hidden place. I will be using public wifi on my trip, so better safe than sorry. I'll use my firewall to lock all unnecessary software anyway. It runs win10, more holes than swiss cheese but every little bit helps.

My vacuum sealer came last week so today I vacuum sealed 8 bone in ribeye's, 72 wings and 20 catfish fillets. Next time I catch burger, strip steak and chops on sale I'll finish topping off my freezer. I'll be good to go on meat until the holidays.

Got the chickens stocked with plenty of food and water until I get back from seeing the eye surgeon. The laundry is done for my trip, just have to throw a few items in a bag tonight. Tomorrow all I have left to do is get a shower and hit the road.

Tonight I'm going to rest. I never liked leaving preparations for a trip for the night before. I find the trip goes better if I rest the last 18 hours, take it easy, watch a little tv and get a good nights sleep.

Peanut, I hope you have a safe trip. I think resting before the trip is a good idea. I wish I could do that. Whenever I have a long trip I can't sleep the night before. I keep thinking about how I need to get up to go on the trip & worry that I forgot something. My brain will not let me relax. LOL.

I went out in the heat to measure my shed. Got overheated & nearly keeled over. Cows came up and wanted attention. I had to rub my older cow's head and sing her favorite lullaby before she'd let me leave.

Not really what I was doing but...A couple of our customers had just left the marina, got their boat up on step, just backed off on the power, when a pod of whales, that were bubble feeding, came up under their boat. They were doing about 24 knots when they hit all three whales. It rather messed up the boat. One went to the ER and was treated and released. He'll be sore tomorrow. They called the Coast Guard and reported the incident.

What did they do to the whales? Is it normal for them to come up to dock like that?

So our lease ends mid November and we got our renewal papers from the property management to sign and turn in before then. We are planning on renewing with a 2 year lease but after that we will be looking to move again. They are raising the rent and after 2 years it may be too expensive for us to keep renewing. So I laid out a plan to enjoy the rest of this year and next then buckle down to pack and declutter hardcore for the last year before moving. I want to strip it all down to the minimum if we can for the move. On that note I have to keep reminding myself that I can make do with what we have. Meaning no frou frou cat beds when I go to the pet store or no more fabric unless I need it!

I ordered some fun stuff for our sensory bins for Juju. She enjoyed the water beads bin I put together today. I added some plastic fish and sea animals and she played in there for an hour+. I have another bin for next week that will have white cloud dough and arctic animals. I ordered a bag of clean sanitized sand for the desert bin and kinetic sand for the beach bin.

They weren't at the dock. The boat was traveling at about 24 knots, (30 miles an hour give or take). Bubble feeding is where the whales find a school of fish and the pod swims in a circle around the school of fish forming a column of fish. They release air, which keeps the fish in the centre of the column and disorients them. Typically 3 whales come together, jaw to jaw to jaw, all the way to the surface, with their mouths open and each whale gets their share of the catch. In this case, when the whales breached the surface there was a boat there. There is no way for the boater to even have a clue what was going to happen. It would be like you going down the freeway and a plane crashing right on top of you from behind. The odds are astronomical.

Oh now I understand. I misread it. Also thanks for info on whale bubble fishing.. I read it again.

Friday night I picked a row of kindeys beans, need to get them shelled but got a fan blowing on them to dry them out better.Saturday wife wasn't feeling good, so we held off going where we planned. Drove South a ways looking for some maters. Didn't find anything other than a watermelon. Got back to town and went to a small market we go to on occasion. They have several bushels of canning maters, so we got one. Yesterday I went to the funeral home for my buddy at work that passed away. Back to work today and was slammed which I was expecting. Got a bunch done. Ended the day going thru my guys desk and locker to round up all his personal stuff. Need to take that to his wife. After supper wife picked okra and green beans till dark. I got about 2/3 of the row of great northern beans picked.

It is a wonderful afternoon in the neighborhood today.
Absolutely wonderful.
I had several visitors today.
They paid Granny a surprise visit.
I held her for about 3 hours.
At one time I had all three of my girls on my lap.
Estelle, Baby Reign and Strawberry.
Strawberry was giving kisses to both little girls.
Got feed Baby Reign, change her little stinky butt.
Estelle is slightly jealous, Strawberry likes everybody.
