This is the first whacko we've ever met, so after hearing your stories, I guess we've been lucky. There's a pulmonology group locally that we didn't try because they have only been doing business for a couple of years. Husband made an appt with them for next month. They are arabs. Arabs in Kansas? That's what I said. If he doesn't like them, there are more in Wichita. Don't mind the 45 min drive for a good doc. Actually, next Tuesday we see a spine doc for the first time in Wichita. Hope he's not a wacko ******.
Told off the cussing 7 yr old neighbor boy this afternoon. He was over with his nerf guns, holding them up to the heads of our little granddaughter and his sister and threatening them. I gave him a piece of my mind, and told him to bring the guns home and not bring them back. And to behave or he's not welcome here. So far we've had: no cussing, no cussing with fingers, no crashing your bike into someone else's bike or someone else, and now, no guns to the head or threats. I'm sure he'll be over tomorrow. His parents don't discipline him. They gave him a big old knife he calls a pocket knife, but it barely fits in his pocket.

Urban, prayer going out for you and your wife.
Lady, glad you got your pops home. Prayers answered
Amish, hopin you relation gets his hand fixed up and don't have any long term issues with it.
Jim,
Hope they can get mama fixed up, both the stone and the back pain. Take care of yourself through all this too.

Still working at home. Had to go get my brain swabbed this morning, make sure I don't have the CV. If not I can get back to work Monday.
Yesterday Decided to call up my vendor and explain out situation with people out and safety issues. When I asked about pushing his visit back 2 weeks, he jumped on it. With the second order I had put it Due in September as well He is pushing to get both finished on time. This is going to help us both out. Mowed the yard after work last night.
Work before and after the brain tickling. Boss called this afternoon, told him I had pushed the vendor back and why I decided to do that, he thought it was a great idea instead of everyone being stresed out trying to keep up. Told me I gotta clean up the stuff my tech had at work when I get back. That's not gonna be any fun. Also had to deal with getting his training stopped, talked with HR to close out badging, property (computers and suck), etc. Tomorrow I've got to close out his payroll timekeeping.

Looks like your doing ok considering the circumstances , and hope you and your hubby have a great aniverary.:thumbs:
Thank you 😊 Were ok. Lungs are hurting but we’re doing ok otherwise. Smoke is thick. Less ash today falling though at the moment. So far a friend of a friend had 1/2 his house burn up but they saved the other 1/2 surprisingly and another one is waiting for word as to if they lost it all.
We definitely won’t be sitting on the deck BBQ’ing as planned for our anniversary 😂
I’m waiting for all the people to start panicking about the smoke and Covid.

I was trying to find a good wok for my wife. She is Malaysian-Chinese and always loves to say "having a good wok is doing yourself a big favor" because we cook asian food most of the time. Her old wok became sticky, so I decided to surprise her and get her a new one. So I spent the whole day searching for a good wok but couldn't find any. Even found reviews with pros and cons of different woks, but it made even worse and messed up everything for me. Now I'm totally lost and have no idea what to choose better: carbon steel, stainless steel, iron, small, big, cheap, expensive (mindblowing!). Hope I will figure it out or just will buy the same wok as she already has 😁

We do metal fabrication so I asked hubby what he thought. He said his preference would be high carbon steel but to each his own. He said probably no right or wrong choice.

Alex maybe buy her a set of these and say 'welcome to America'.Are you from China too? Give her a cookbook she may find she likes variety., I cook asian food in my pots and pans with no problem.

Urban, that sounds awful about your wife's foot. They are supposed to put something on it to stop bleeding. I hope you get all the blood out of her shoes. My mom has to go to have her nails trimmed & filed down w/ a Dremel tool every several months. She's got some toenail fungus that won't go away completely. I had been washing her feet & applying nail fungus cream but I got out of the habit after I got sick for awhile. I need to start it up again.
The food being in your son's room instead of the pantry sounds like something my brother would do. Only the cans would be empty. He's really bad about eating other people's food. LOL.
The clearing out of the blood sounds like one of the few times it's ok to use leeches to clear stuff out. Some doctors use them for that purpose.

Sewing, the garlic chicken kiev sounds delicious.

Meerkat, could it have been Epsom salt? That is often recommended for infected toes and fingers. There's a free program called Spybot Search & Destroy that can get rid of known viruses. I use it from time to time.

Amish, either that doctor is rude or he's starting to get Dementia. Or maybe both. I had two cardiologists about like that. Both refused to run tests. Neither would listen. One actually stuck his hand in my face, held his hand up to interrupt me, and told me that unless I was having shortness of breath, chest pain, etc not to bother him. My father happened to be with me & said "She just told you she has those symptoms". Dude is a quack. Ordered an MRI on a patient who had a pacemaker. His notes were illegible to other doctors. Many of his patients died. I hope you can find another pulmonologist bc that one sounds awful. I actively steer people away from the quack. I overheard someone talking to the family doctor's clerks about going to see that guy & I said "Don't! He's a quack! Go to Freedman Memorial cardiology clinic instead!" Glad you told the cussing 7-yr-old to behave. I was taught to never even point toy guns at someone's head. I wouldn't have had that much patience with the kid. He would be banned from coming over if I heard him threatening other kids. But then, I'm not fond of children & don't like having them around me so it wouldn't take much to get them banned. LOL.

Sheepdog, Gabapentin is what my father took for RLS and I know a diabetic woman who takes it too (her name happens to be Gabby), but I understand not everyone reacts well to it. Doctors should never make light of someone's pain.

Jim, I hope your wife gets relief soon. Kidney stones are awful. I had to stop drinking tea because I was getting them too often. I never had to get surgery at least.

Mo, when I first started reading I was thinking it sounded like he was getting kickbacks for pushing that med. I'm glad you got a new neurologist & that the seizures aren't as bad now. They stil suck of course, but I'm glad you lost weight too.

AlexCaro, does your wife speak Bahasa Malaya? She's right about the wok. I used to live in Singapore & we had some Malaysian cuisine there. It's delicious.

My toothache was acting up & giving me a nasty headache so I took meds & slept most of the day. Cleaned the litterbox, fed the kitties, got them more water, reheated leftovers for Mom. I got a call from my best friend. His fiance went into labor 10 days early & gave birth to a healthy boy. Now they will have to fight to get people to leave them alone. There are a few relatives who will want to drop by when they don't want visitors.

Hope y’all have a good day! Supposed to cool off a bit here today. Actually got cool last night. Made it much more enjoyable to work except the smoke/ash.
Got up a few minutes early and called the tractor dealer to check the status of sending our beast back. They say they are waiting on another truck load to come still that can pick it up. No eta what so ever. Really want to have it home and get the scraper on in case of fire. Doesn’t sound promising. I’m beat.
Good night all!

Zanne no its just plain ol table salt that is best.

DoubleR it has cooled off some here too. Nights and early mornings are nice now.

Yesterday was grandsons 1st day at military academy. They took his phone but he hid a burner phone and used it to complain to his mom. He will be in big trouble if ,when they catch him with it. He 15 and thinka he knows it all. He said he is not staying there and him and some other boys who just started yestetrday said they are leaving in 2 weeks.
Daughter now no longer has the 4 grandkids 3 permanrly since gradndaughter got back custody, the othe daughters wedding is fianlly over and now troubled son is in military school. Her first night at home without someone doing something or kids screaming ,son telling her he will do what he wants.

His parents will not get back one dime of the money they paid for any reason.

We are staing up later and ,getting night and day mixed up.
So tired of the news telling us how bad America is, if its so bad why do so many people want to be here?

A good Wok hast to be black iron. They become self lubricating and non-stick when they are used. Steel doesn't lubricate well and carbon has a hard time bonding so it never becomes non-stick. NEVER get a teflon coated Wok! The heat that is used to cook with a wok will burn the teflon off!

Wok's??

I just mostly baby set the wife today.
Went for a walk around the farm , nice cool temps here.
Cleaned the kitchen , put lunch on table , pot roast with potatoes and carrots.
Salad, all brought by friends.
Cleaned kitchen again.

Watched wife with PT lady, same one that was here for both of my new knees.

All in all , good day.

Jim

Worked for a while then took a trip to the area fun store. Discussed trading a Glock 17 for a Sig 320. They only offered $300, not good enough so I'll wait for now. Looked thru the store, ammo is almost all gone. .308 I had been getting in now bare. All they had was 6.5 Creedmore, .300, a little .38, and not much else other than a few shotgun shells. On my way out the door I took a look at used guns and right away found the twin to my wifes Beretta Model 21A. It's only a .22 caliber, but with her hand and arm problem it's about all she can handle. So I bought her a back up.
Got back home and was looking out the kitchen window down in the field and saw a decent Buck. Got the Bino's out and took a closer look, decent 6 pointer. While looking thru the lens another deer walked into the pick, 4 point buck. Dropped the binos and there was 2 more, 1 a 7 pointer, the second a very nice 8 pointer. We've saw 2 at a time out here, but never 4 at once. I've only saw 1 buck all year and it was the small one. Thinking I need to make sure my 30-30 is dead nuts on and get me a stamp this year. Might get me a little meat without leaving the place. My shot would have been less than 50 yards.

We lost a family member about six weeks ago… sister-in-law, no husband or kids. We’ve been spending most days of the past two weeks (today being no exception) getting the house and property ready for sale… sorting through things and trying to find new homes or people in need for it all. Needless to say, the days have had an odd feel to them and we’ll be glad to have it behind us.

Have you been talking to my husband? “Dead nuts” is a term I’d never heard until I met him (and I’d heard quite a few expressions 😂)
Jim what kind of deer to you have back there? We have mulies and white tail no such critter as a 16 point here.
I had to drive to Looneyville today (Portland Oregon). I wondered why there was so much traffic on the road I take that skirts the area to get to the south end. Then I heard about the riots. Maybe they will all destroy each other. I don’t call it Looneyville for nuttin.
Hey Patch. What’s up with your avatar?

I hope you don't mind me sticking my two cents in here. "Dead Nuts" is an old rifle factory term. When the bore machines were set up perfectly, they would apply locking nuts (called "dead nuts" or "dead sets") to keep it that way. So, when a rifle barrel was made on such a machine, it was made "to dead nuts". It became a reference to the quality of build and accuracy of the rifle.

We only have Whitetail.
That's the second 16 point buck taken by my pond . Right out my back door. I only let very close friends hunt.

I've heard that there are a few Elk around , just introduced, but I've not seen any.
But I have lots of whitetail .I've seen bigger than 16 point on my trailcam.
