Mom went to her new heart dr yesterday. She's had a echo on her heart and wore a heart monitor for 30 days. He gave her the results. She's got Aortic Stenosis. Needs the valve replaced. She's 81 and not sure she wants to go thru it. Shes not in bad health in general and Dr told her this is the source of her breathing and vertigo problems. Please say a prayer for her if you don't mind

House sitting for a few days with a cute Aussie Shepherd/Corgi mix dog and two cats. One of the cats needs an insulin injection twice a day. Dog is about a year and a half and is adorable. She wants me to throw toys for her to fetch.

The challenge is the next door neighbor, a woman I have met only once, more than a year ago, and who was just shocking to me. She knew way too much about me and my daughter for meeting me the first time. Later, the woman whose dogs I was seeing told me what this neighbor said I said. It was a lie. Later, I talked to my client, and another client and they both tell me what a liar this woman is. She is controlling, nosy, hateful. Several of her neighbors have restraining orders against her. Her children don't talk to her. When I first met this current client, and realized she lived next door to this nasty narcissistic woman, I decided I wasn't going to say a word, but client brought up all the things to be careful about with her neighbor. This is my second time house sitting in this house, and I have yet to see the nasty neighbor. Client suggested that I park in the garage so nasty neighbor doesn't tune in to me being here. Nasty neighbor's windows are frosted on this side of her house, so she cannot see out, just gets light in. First time I met nasty neighbor I was driving a rental because my car was in the shop. She asked me if I got a new car? I just met her. I didn't park close to her house. She had to snoop me out to know who I was and what car I drive. We cannot turn on yard lights, ever. They bother her in her bedroom (lie) even though her bedroom is on the other side of the house! She just wants control!

Yes, Weedy, she sounds like a whacko, so be careful.
Got home from pre funeral gathering a little bit ago. I believe over 200 people there. We shook lots of hands, had a meal, the youth sang songs, and there was a sermon. We were in a big, cleared out workshop, which is common around here, since the Amish do not have churches. It has horribly hot, so about ready to get in the shower, and be ready for the actual funeral tomorrow. Tonight's event was four hours. Tomorrow will be all day. I'll get out my second all black outfit. Was good to see my favorite cousin's grown kids and families. They came in from all over. Husband was a trooper, and managed the whole time. I'll just be bringing the two older grandkids tomorrow.

Bacpacker That’s one of the surgeries my dad just had and he’s currently doing pretty good. They had to go in through his sternum due to a couple issues but it can also be done orthoscopically. I would inquire as to which method, risk factor, and prospect if she does nothing. I’m sure these are already things you’re (she’s) considering. Will certainly send up a prayer for you and your family.

Tomorrow at 0845 hours my youngest son was born.
And now his sweet baby girl is a month old.
My youngest son will be 36 years old tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to your son, Mo! I always like to tell our kids on their birthday about the day they were born.
A funny this evening: I was getting some ice cream after coming back from the pre funeral, and got some for little granddaughter, too. I said to her, "I wonder if your papa wants some, too", and then I yelled, "Phil, would you like some ice cream?" And she laughed and laughed. Evidently, I can't call him by his name. She said I should call him husband. Ha.
And Frodo...just got the mail, and thank you for the wallet. That was very kind of you. Can't find the guessing game thread.

Woke up this morning at 04:00 arm throbbing at the shoulder. Yesterday was a mixed bag. I got the window switch on son's car fixed, while testing it the motor/regulator on right rear failed dropping window halfway down... Ordered parts, but can't swap out cars this weekend like the wife wanted. I was able to put new cables and bag cover on the lawnmower - now I can mow the lawn.... Wife is trying to organize the new pantry as I clean out the old pantry (which is now the cupboard?) got all the shelves out and will try to clean and paint them today. Checked the pantry measurements today, there is room for 4 flats of quart canning jars at the very top next to the hinges, this will make room in my downstairs food storage area (once I have permission to move them ) I think I will go to the all night CVS around 05:30, pick up some ben-gay for my arm, then go to HD to get blue tape, paint, roller covers, small brush, wall corner guards, and butcher block/cutting board finish (wife has decided I need to refinish a couple of old cutting boards). Son is suppose to arrive today to grout the backsplash, let see... up at noon, 4 hour drive, I figure he'll show up at about 18:00 (Kids today spend the best part of their life sleeping n texting).

I think of spending summers with grandpa when I was 8 & 9, we were at the Ice-house by 05:00 and in the fields before sun up. I remember one morning being left with a breaker bar, some sockets, wd-40 and a set of chisel tips for a 5 row cultivator (It was in the shade and I had a jug of ice water ), work was fun and people would stop by just to say ,”Are you Gene’s Grandson? Heard you were back..” What kid gets to “play” with a grease gun and a D8 Cat?

Might be part of why I love watching the sun come up...

People miss out when they sleep till noon. Around here, half a day is gone by 10 am. And in this heat, it makes sense. Most don't have air conditioning, and working outside after lunch is very hot. Forgot to turn my phone off last night, and mom called me at 1:30 am and got us out of bed. No reason. Wanted to know if I just called her. She is unhappy that I will not take her to the funeral today, but she is unpredictable with what she says, and that would not be appropriate. Told her we'd take her to the lake nearby for a picnic tomorrow.

No muss No fuss morning. The puppy went off to sleep without a lot of whining at my door last night when I blocked it off with a couple of boxes. During the night he found a couple of sheets of TP somewhere. That’s it, the only thing he tore up.

He impressed me this morning. Working dogs are bred for intelligence. With all the working dogs I’ve had here only one was smart enough to let herself out when I unlocked the security door. She knew how to reach up and pull the handle down.

This morning I unlocked the door then stated to put my shoes on. My head was turned just a moment then I heard the door close. The puppy pushed it open and went out. He also waited to poop until he was outside. A smart dog right out of the gate!!! Smart dogs are so much fun to train.

I’m unusually tired, same yesterday, so I’m just going to rest. I got the eggs and turned the chickens out first thing. I didn’t get my peppers into the dehydrator, have to do that before lunch. That’s the plan anyway.

I wish I could take a picture of my hiney, and show y'all what my right buttock looks like. Butt....I better not..nudity aint allowed.

I scoured every listing in our 3 county area , and there ain't much for sale except lake houses at over a million.

So our prospects of downsizing. Is gonna be a while. In the meantime, I'll be getting things ready to sell. So that when the time comes ,we will be ready.

Wife is about the same today, getting around, and not much pain .
I figure in a couple weeks she will be able to get out and go .

Lazy day today.

To get rid of fleas fast I highly recommend getting a bottle of De Flea by Natural Chemistry from Petco or Amazon if you have Prime. We had a flea problem years ago and I use to use that shampoo in our carpet shampooer to get the pests out of the rugs! It WORKS! Kills on contact! They offer this as a standard shampoo or as a concentrate in a gallon jug.

Did exercise video this morning, fed dogs walked dogs. Have sweet potato treats in oven for dogs and first two pressure canners going with 14 quarts of dog food. Still have another 7 quarts to go when this is done. I'm sensing a theme here. LOL
Garden was tilled up yesterday, so if I have energy left, I might go out and work on it. But it is supposed to be 94 today, so maybe not.
Will par boil chicken leg quarters to grill later and cut corn off cob to make corn cob jelly tomorrow. Think I'll forget about the garden today!

On a side note, I used this on myself once after I found a tick crawling on me. . Ticks were an issue when we lived in the cabin.

Made an apron pattern for myself this morning so washed some fabric to use to make a “real” one. When I make a pattern, I use scrap/rag bag sorta fabric. Will hopefully get it made in the morning.
The rest of the day I’ve spent canning! Last batch of tomatoes has 10 more minutes. All the dishes are done. I’m tired. I’ll post the list over in the canning thread.

Was wiped out after the funeral, and the heat. Got the laundry done and hung when I got home, since tomorrow is Sunday. Made some cookies and mac salad for the picnic at the lake tomorrow afternoon. I'll fry the chicken in the morning. Called mom to tell her when we'd be picking her up for the picnic, but she said her nose is stuffy. I doubt that, she's just irritated with me that I wouldn't take her to the funeral. That's also why she called and woke us up in the middle of the night. Am turning off my phone tonight.

Today is Sunday, so we will be doing church and bible study, everything else will need to be worked in around that.

Yesterday I pulled 3 bags of weeds (a lot of that poke weed ), got all the shelves from the pantry washed, some will need replacing. I got the final pieces of drywall up including the end of the wall, put the corner guards on and got the first coat of mud on. Son put grout on the backsplash, he will need to clean it up a little today; if he ever gets home from his friends house... Today, I hope to do wiring in the attic, hang about 5 lights, and get the lawn mowed... The wife is focused on organizing the new pantry and she wants my work table removed so we can get the kitchen table out of the living room....
Isn't "tomorrow" the BEST day of the week
Well, the kitchen is nearing completion and bow season starts on Friday . Not that I'm looking forward to going out and sitting in a tree or anything . BUT, I am a man of my word, I said that I would finish by hunting season. The kitchen will either be done on Thursday or I will be done with the kitchen on thursday, either way work is gona stop...
