Today is Hubby & my 9th anniversary so we will go out to supper - only 2nd (or 3rd?) time since March I think.
I make quite my own mixes too (taco etc. no packets), but not those that have been mentioned so would also be interested. Amish might laugh, I would come help clean the coop. I miss my chickens  I'm sure if I cleaned a coop or two I might not miss them quite as much 😂
Happy Anniversary!

Just a heads up..

This may surprise some of you, but I want you to all know, that yesterday I volunteered for the vaccine trials for Covid-19, held here at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. The vaccine is one that was created in Russia. I received my first shot yesterday at 4:00 pm, and I wanted to let you all know that it’s completely safe, with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι χoρoshό я чувствую себя немного странно и я думаю, что вытащил ослиные уши.

I do a yellow rice seasoning that is good. Order a small amount of saffron off of eBay.

I make mixes so there is no MSG or cornstarch which give me a reaction. I use tapioca starch instead. No reaction there.
Saffron is expensive stuff! I bought some a couple years ago, and that is one of the reasons I decided to try to grow the crocus that produce it.

Happy Anniversary, Lady L and Mr Lady L! Hope you have a nice time tonight going out!
Our coops are good sized, so I don't clean them as much as you'd think. They are so much fun to watch, though. Chicken TV. We packaged two big totes of cake mixes, rice mixes, pancake mix, all in mylar. Also made some rice mixes. I'll figure out how to start a new mix thread. Zatarrains was the popular one, but so was the Rice a Roni chicken flavor. So now they're pros! Also did some mixes in canning jars and used the food saver jar attachment to seal. Had a great time. Was gifted some elk and hamburger meat from cousin's daughter in law. Gifted back some jar lids. Local stores here being cleared out of napkins. May be taking a trip to Sams Club in the big city tomorrow.

That is some of the most exspensive spice there is. At least the real stuff is. Glad youcould find some.

I'm just preparing meals , cleaning house, getting out fall clothing, playing online and watching bio's and crime.
Need to go back to music and hide.:peace::eek:

Will try adding the mix thread Weedy mentioned. I found it just a few min. ago. (should be able to click on the words "mix thread.")

Long day today.
Wife is still very weak, last surgery was a week ago yesterday.
We left at 8am to go get her labs done at 9am.
Had to be at VA at 9:30am. Made both on time.

Left VA and went to Kioti Tractor dealer for a couple special bucket pins for tractor that had fell out somewhere. $25 each ....geeeeesh.

Stop by Drug store in town dropped off 2 scripts.
Went for a ride in countryside , looked at houses we would buy if they were for sale.
Picked up scripts , then went and picked up bbq ribs and, bbq pork for late lunch.

I think the ride did her good , but exhausted her.

Resting now.
I go to kidney specialist tomorrow.

Jim

I do not get a chance to sit in front of computer that often so I can only report when do so.

Last week The Princess, my brother and myself moved about12 tons of dirt out of the basement excavation. Today I completed the last of the clean-up around the edges ...

and then moved on to the LAST digging task putting in drainage trenches around the edges to catch nay water that may make it past the French drains outside into the crawl space.

Viewed from the first floor this is what it looks like.

If all goes well tomorrow I may complete the trenches and THEN I can surrender the "shovel Operator" title when The Princess helps me fill those trenches with gravel. Sure we still have a good bit of concrete to install but we will be putting it IN and not taking it OUT.

Oh and then the work place will smell of freshly cut pine as we start to remodel.

Behave!

Forgive me for saying a 4-letter word, but that looks like work! Wow - should be nice.

Cursing this damn computer out for the thousandth time, just seconds ago I had a message I was typing out about getting a new email account, leaned my wrists on the front of the computer a little too hard and everything I had written vanished. All I was going to say was that I finally got to order some things from Amazon that I'm not able to get at stores that used to supply them. One Plews battery water automatic filler, two large heating pads, a couple of DVD's and one water distiller for suppling distilled water for the 20 G2 batteries in our solar backup system.

Be careful what you say to a computer. They have a microphone and can hear everything you say and thy have a memory.

Talk nice to them.

Ben
I shut the microphone off and put tape over the camera, if these problems get any worse I'll go to paint and make a target on the screen and see how well I can do at 100 yards at blowing this piece of junk to pieces. I need to see how well my new glasses work anyway.

I order small amounts so it doesn't cost too much.

Happy Gettin Hitched Day Lady L
Jim sometimes a road trip does a body wonders.

Had another meeting this morning on the project that got dumped on me. Another in the morning, and a second Monday. But if we get a couple parts in, we will start with the install on Monday. Gotta have it running by Wed. Lots of eyes watching this one.....dead horse. But we've got to get it running because when we're done the facility can get started back up and get back to producing isotopes used to treat cancer patients. Can't even be upset with getting dumped on.

Also went to a vendor to pick out some sliders and caps for a couple trucks we have. Keep the tools and parts secure and dry.

Looks like things are starteing to look up a little, hope so.Hope apt. tomorrow has good report.

I'm not getting too excited.

But

Since this all started August 6th, I believe I am starting to see a bit of improvement.

She just ask me if I'd help her walk around the yard a little before I go to hospital .

Yep, I will.

62 degrees outside , fall is here.

I hope y'all are blessed as much as I am today.

Jim

I understand sometimes life is like looking a gift horse in the mouth. Lets just be glad for whatever little gift we can get ,;p;. I get all carried away with my grandkids go off intorants then my body and mind starts up on top of it.
I am really glad Brenda feels good enough to go out for a little walk.

Dishes are done.
Strawberry has been walked several times.
I have walked several times.
Counter tops, top of freezer, table has been emptied and scrubbed down.
Probably rain or snow tonight beings I got my junk collecting places cleaned off.
Refilled the cannister with coffee.
Went and picked up my CSA boxes.
What was in them is on thread"How I saved money" along with the cost of that yearly.
Resting now.
Will walk Strawberry again in few minutes.
Still have to make coffee for morning.
Crocheting on oldest grand daughter's Christmas blanket.
Should finish it this weekend.
Then I will start on Baby Reign's blanket.
All in all good day.
4 hours and 30 minutes sleep last night.
Getting tired now.

Jim continued prayers for you two.
Mo you got a lot of food! Hope your foot is feeling better with the new shoe.
Folks seem not to be posting on here quite so much. Maybe once Mother Nature chases us back inside. I do miss @Sentry and have been glad to see @Caribou hangin around. Spikedriver has been pretty quiet. So if you’re reading and just not pipin’ up, Howdy. Hope y’all are doing well.
We’re still slammed at work. Tomorrow will be day 20 in a row for hubby. We have at best a couple more weeks of this level of crazy.
I’m still canning in between work, laundry, yard and whatever else. Dad is finally on the road to recovery and went and got fitted for teeth today. We are all excited for him to be back to some resemblance of normal. He finished antibiotic injections so go to have the pick removed- all good things.
We are blessed.

Went to the bigger town today and ordered husband a recumbant eliptical exercise thing to use at home for rehab. It'll come in sometime, maybe a few weeks. Had lunch at our local lunch counter. Checked out a big store (Menards) in the big town, kind of a hardware and misc store. Bought paint there to do the outside of the old milkhouse. That'll be my morning project. Kids had marching band for the football game tonight and just got home.
