Thanks, I probably shouldn't complain as much, sorry...I AM walking and doing farm work. I usually walk around 5 miles a day just around here doing the usual stuff ( my phone measures steps) . Even without the foot at some point I would have to admit I am getting too old to ski ( close to mid 50s now yikes)
I'm 63 years young, with broken left foot.
Training for 5 k in May.
You're mid 50's hmm......

Just chillin'. I gave up on fixing my truck. I got it all back together except for putting the bed, tool box and rear tires back on it,I'm waiting on my son to come over and help me with those. After the first of the year we're going to pull it over to my neighbor that owns a garage and let him figure out what's wrong with it. I told him I won't have the money to fix it until tax time but since I've known him his whole life he let's me pay him whenever I can. I just hope it isn't too high.
Sorry about the truck.
Glad you know the mechanic.
Glad to see you .
Merry Christmas.

Strawberry hasn't been walked yesterday and today.
Temps are 19* with wind advisory.
Not going out unless I absolutely have too.
Learning a new crochet stitch.
Will be crocheting a sampler blanket.
My inner ear infection is draining.
Beginning to hear better.
Sipping coffee, watching Tales of the Living Dead- Preserved corpses of 8 Thule Inuit women and children.
Watched Estelle today, while her daddy finished stuff up.
No dog walker tomorrow either.
Merry Christmas everybody.

Sorry about the truck.

Merry Christmas.
Yeah,he grew up close by and rode the bus when we were kids. Him and another garage that is owned by a guy in my school class are the only 2 garages around here I trust. 2 of the others are rip offs and the Ford Dealer I don't know anything about other than they're extremely high.
Glad to see you too and Merry Christmas.

second morning in a row I got woke up with a phone call. Yesterday, my buddies wife was put on a ventilator. Today found out they pulled it and she passed in minutes. I feel horrible for him and his family. But its actually a blessing for her. She had liver cancer that nothing could be done for. Just terrible timing.

Wife and I went out to run a couple errands this afternoon. It had started sleeting just before we left. Went to post office, stopped to fuel the truck. By then it was snowing really hard. Stopped by dollar general for a few things. Soon as I came out, less than 10 minutes, it was laying on the side walk. Within 3 miles it was laying on the roads too. We got in and wife started feeding her birds. Between 4 and 6 we got 3" of snow. Still flurrying a little now.
My niece set up a zoom meeting for us to visit with my mom, dad, sis, BIL, Niece, & her fiance for Christmas eve. Had a nice time. Sis called later said it took them 2 hours to make a 30 minute drive due to cars off the road everywhere.
Wife and I had some raosted taters and honey baked ham for supper. First time we've celebrated Christmas eve alone since we've been married.

In the midst of the most trying holiday season I've ever had...Merry Christmas, H&CL!

Covid has done a number my family. Mom will spend Christmas in the hospital. Dad's quarantine ends on Christmas day. I don't know if they'll let him see mom at the hospital or not. If they don't, it will be the first Christmas they've been apart since 1959. I can't even imagine that.

I have to travel in early January, by both car and air, so I can't afford an exposure. The docs have extended mom's quarantine time until New Year's day, so I probably won't be seeing them until the middle of January. It's going to be a strange holiday...

On the bright side, my daughter and I had a nice gift exchange for Christmas Eve followed by a wonderful service at church. My daughter made me a woven mat and coasters for my end tables, on a loom she built herself out of a box. I'm proud of her and it's one of my favorite presents I've ever gotten.😁

It was cold and I wasn't feeling well so I ended up sleeping in. Scam robo call woke me early in the morning and put me in a bad mood. I stayed home with the cats, made lunch and dinner for mom (she doesn't eat breakfast) and am currently under a pile of cats. Both dogs are on the foot of my bed and one is snuggled against my leg.
Friend said he was feeling a little bit better, but I am still worried about him. He offered to help me clean up some stuff over here but I want him to rest.
I'm about out of milk so I may have to go to the store in the morning.

I'm sorry to hear about the deaths among family and friends and those who can't see family due to Covid.

I wish people luck on the weight loss too. I could stand to lose about 50lbs at least. Probably 70lbs. My healthy weight is around 150lbs and I'm at 220lbs.

Been working on plans for my bathroom reno. I'm going to build my own recessed toilet paper holder I think. It will have to be on the side of the vanity and I don't want it sticking out. I'm thinking of either making it a rectangular box or trying to curve the top and carefully bend plywood around the top and back but having it flat on the bottom so there will be a little shelf. I got an 8' x 10' picture frame to use to cover the cuts in the side of the vanity. I saw some nice wood premade ones online but they were horribly expensive.

It's Christmas morning, the Wife and I spent Christmas Eve Skyping with the East Coast Kids, will Skype with the West Coast Kids today, like so many others we are having our first Christmas in isolation. It's sad, but we also got calls from old friends from all over the country, we may be isolated but we are never truly alone.

This morning we have a mix of freezing rain, but yesterday it warmed up to 50 and had a steady rain, I opened up all my raised bed tops and let the plants get a good drink before closing them to keep them safe from frost.

We started making Christmas Dinner yesterday, I cut the roast like pealing an orange and then we put down a layer of cooked spinach, pine nuts, and herbs (the spinach and herbs came out of the garden) and rolled it back up like a bed roll. On the outside we made a layer of Pancetta like dragons armor and tied it every 2 inches, it looks kind of like an armadillo. We also made a carrot cake; the carrots came out of the garden. We are truly blessed.

I shared my New Year’s Eve plan with the DIL and she thought it was a good idea and will follow suite, she plans to share the idea with her parents today.

One fun thing about having part of the garden in containers inside the house, when the wife asks for something I can carry the container up to the kitchen, put it on the island and she can pick it herself, it is so much fun to be able to share the little things.

Here is wishing you all a very Merry Christmas (or what ever holiday you have) and a safe, healthy, and happy New Year.

All the kids have called to wish us a Merry Christmas.

Sad they can't be here...2 more days in covid jail.

I think we got it going on Monday.

We will be cooking 2 giant ribeyes on the grill, baked potatoes, salad.

Ribeye has been our tradition forever.

In years past , wife and I supplied 14 ribeyes for the family , with a couple extra.

We are very blessed even in all that this past year has held for us.
Y'all have the best and Merriy Christmas 🎄 ever.

Sorry for your friend BacP. So much sadness now but this is the big one, poor man.

You and yours too and hope the two days fly by.

We were without power since yesterday but did ok with kerosene lamp ,candles and covers. Never got cold. All the grnds and great grands had a nice Christmas. So all are happy.

Brother in law hubby brother called this morning saying they got a motor hiome ' not for xmas' but to get out of house.
Don't know what took them so long since they like to travel and visit. He said " can we visit now"haha. We never said they couldn't visit our tent are always ready and able to acommadate. I told them whoopee and of course. Its almost as big as our house,,well half the size at least. I didn't mention bring your skill saw to pull it in 😁 without ripping off the sides and roof. But hubby said they can pull it through the back gate.

We had an ok 43 anniversary yesterday except it rained all day, then storm knocked out power for almost till 6am this morn.

Happy 43rd anniversary @Meerkat .

What a Christmas present.

Jim

Thank you and yes finally found a good one hard working man allowed me to stay home and raise my kids or work at times and help out.
I told him I don't play house I have kids and he left came back 3 months later on his bike with frozen hands stuck to handle bars, his beard full of ice rode it 400 miles in sleet and snow woke me up said we're getting married. Found a JP on Christmas Eve.

To everyone a Merry Christmas regardless of what is going on outside, I hope your hearts are full ♥️
I had a very special blessing. It’s a bit personal but I’d like to share ~
My ex is not a good person. He was awful not only to me, but my children too. He is extremely manipulative. He left us without a house, living in a shop to go be with one of his girlfriends. He somehow convinced the our divorce was all my fault and I’m evil. (He’s on his 3rd or 4th marriage now). My kids haven’t spent a holiday with me in eleven years. (They were 10 & 13). There was a two year period that my daughter wouldn’t even talk to me. I’ve always tried “to leave the door open.” I invited my son to dinner and candle-lighting last night(Christmas eve) and he said sure. So he came and we all ate make your own pizza and lit the candles on the tree and chatted until a little after 9pm. It was probably the most amazing Christmas gift I’ve ever received. It doesn’t fix all the issues but it’s a step in the right direction and I’m so very grateful.

I did have some free time so I raised the soil level around the tomatoes and transplanted some peas. I have been having trouble getting bell peppers to sprout, and the wife says you know that's a warm weather crop and the seeds need warmer soil to sprout.(talk about making me feel stupid) So move the starter cups to a new location and applied more heat around them, hope they like it.

I have been trying to find good (comprehensive) books on what I am trying to do but there are very few that go beyond what we have already done. The trouble with being a pioneer is you are always ahead of the accepted limits.
