Today I got off by 5PM, mowed the lawn (the drive belt for power assist came off so it was a push mower). The did the recycling, and trash (threw out 5 of those Styrofoam coolers the wife's meds come in...) and carried a queen size mattress to the curb. Had to take a shower cause mowing the grass makes me breakout and become a big puffy red snufalufagus....

Chores around here, and then a stock up at our Krogers. They were fully stocked, but prices are up. I did buy Johnsonville Brats 5 pks for $2.99, that was the deal of the day. Took awhile to put stuff away. Watered, fertilized the stuff in the greenhouse, and the new apple trees I planted yesterday didn't blow over. Watching baby chicks hatch. Lots of laundry

Well got word my primary health care provider now has the vaccine in, can't put it off any longer... have appointment for Friday morning (hope I don't see the needle and pass out - most embarrassing). Looking at my day, this morning is light, but this afternoon is triple booked. Next week just looks bad, every day is over booked.

Last night the wife cooked meat loaf (we made 6 of them 2 months ago and then froze for later eating), scalloped potatoes, and asparagus while I was out side mowing the lawn. When I came in to eat dinner I over looked the asparagus and the wife was not pleased that I skipped my greens......

Split up the baby turkeys today in two tubs, because they are getting big. So, they've been talking about it all morning with each other. The chicken baby tub is now full...18 total have hatched. Not bad out of 24 eggs. The dirt mover guy showed up at 7:30 am and has been moving our basement dirt mountain to the back of the property for a shooting range berm. He is 6 hours in, and almost done. Then he is supposed to pack it down, but leave it about 10 feet high. Went out to lunch with husband to the amish restaurant in town. Booked the back room of the travel agency place in town to hold our "Shem Yoder Family Reunion" in August. Need to go dig some holes for some blackberry and blueberry bushes I bought.

I'm buying a new freezer. I walked into the shop and the floor was wet. My old freezer has died. All the food was thawed out but still really cold. I transferred everything to the freezers in my refrigerators but that is a short-term solution.
At least freezers are available, now unlike a few months ago.

I am assuming that you have upright freezer, be thankful, if it were a chest freezer you would not have known until you smelled the problem.....

Ran back & forth to store with my friend getting supplies for plumbing. Temporarily misplaced pex cinch tool & thought I had to buy a new one (it was in my truck but when I was looking my cow decided to stick her nose up my backside trying to get attention. In town at the store I could look w/o distraction & found it. Wasted a lot of time. Found out the pvc glue at the house was dried up but ran out of time to work on stuff so nothing really got done.

Grabbed lunch for mom & then cleaned up in the kitchen until my arm and back noped out on me. Resting now. Need to pick a good day for my friend to come back- most likely next Tuesday.

As I worked the garden boxes today I weed whacked around the edges of the boxes. I about 4 feet left to go when the guard for the string head fell off! The 2 screws that held it in place hade come out somewhere along the 30 or so feet of border. They are gone forever.

Ben quote

The very first screw I tried fit exactly. I know I ain't that good.

So I finished the whacking and put up some fencing to protect the elder, persimmons, and service berries.

Moved on to the box with the grape vines and after weeding found 6 grape vines. Three of those are going to get cloned this year.

More weeding tomorrow then I will be digging ditches again.

Yes, it was an upright. We had a chest freezer go out and you are right, the smell alerted us to the problem.
I found a new upright and it will be delivered tomorrow morning. We should be OK because the food is all in the refrigerator-freezers.

My wife and I are going to Missouri tomorrow for our Grandson's graduation so our daughter will be here when it's delivered.

Have multiple projects going at work. Hopefully will have 3 of them done in the next couple weeks. One is the nasty job, found out today the levels of Lead and Beryllium are below the rated levels, so other than the rad waste, everything else goes to the landfill as mixed waste. Rad stuff is another story. The rad work should finish next week,, then its just a matter of moving stuff to the dumpsters and relocating what we are keeping.
Second and third jobs require climbing a 100' tower. Not a bad job, just a lots of prep and planning to meet all safety needs. 3rd job will also include pulling a lot of coax, installing splitter, coupler, and internal antennas. But that is a new building and clean, should go well. Couple other projects are over the next couple months. On the down side my lead air tech is having surgery again next week. Prayers needed for him. My new guy will get a chance to show what he's learned now.
Got home, ate supper and just finished weed eating........Have I ever mentioned how bad I HATE weedeating?

Working my old job, filling in for the gal who took my place. Weird! I’ve forgotten so much. Didn’t work at all there last year with all the hoopla.
Will probably end up working tomorrow instead of staying home- will see how it rolls. This weekend we’ll have to head up the mountain to replace the septic tank. Prayers it all goes smoothly and no issues with drain field.

Have had Stink Bug two days in row.
Estelle has decided she needs a new name.
Stella, until her real name comes back.
Her new name to me is Stink Bug.
Watched a class on how to change Sponge Bar on knitting machine.
Took the knitting machine completely apart to clean it.
Got it all cleaned up, now to put it back together.

That was close! About 5pm windows 10 gave me a message that it was waiting to update. It was time to start dinner so I let it update. During dinner prep I checked my desktop a few times, it was rebooting, doing its thing, when windows finished I restarted my system a couple of times manually.

After dinner everything seemed normal. I started an internet search and my system froze. Nothing worked, not my mouse or keyboard. I finally had to do a power off reset.

When I rebooted for the 4th time the keyboard finally started working but I had no mouse. Not only didn’t the mouse work but there was no cursor. It took a couple minutes to remember the necessary keyboard commands to restart my system. (I used to keep a list of keyboard commands printed out in my office desk drawer, no idea what happened to it).

Several restarts later the cursor finally reappeared but I still had no mouse control. I tried a new mouse, happened to have a new Kensington expert mouse in a box unopened.

That did the trick! At least I didn’t have to open the box with my new keyboard.

I’d spent the last couple of days prepping for a major system backup… I know what I’ll be doing tonight! I just hope I finish before...

Finally slept last night. My hip and back have been aching bad for a few weeks. I looked up hip stretched on the internet and after a hot shower did a bunch of stretches. Then the GF used the massage hammer thing on my back and hips. With the help of the massager and some bourbon I fell asleep at a respectable hour, without the need for ice packs, and finally got a good night sleep.
Took two trailers of trash, mostly trimmed tree branches the the dump. Helped clean the pool for spring start up. Had to deal with a fuel leak on the 4-wheeler, the fuel valve was leaking so bypassed it with a T-connector until I can get around to ordering a new fuel selector switch. (on/off/reserve)
Worked on a drain for the future temporary duck pond, may get that set up this weekend. It is a heavy duty, collapsible kid/pet pool that I cut a hole in the bottom for a drain to connect to a water pump/filter to hopefully keep the water clean for the ducks. Every day water changes are a waste of water. A filter will keep it cleaner longer and when I backflush the filter I will use the poop water to water trees and other stuff in the yard.
Getting ready to play some Euchre. Only one or two ways better to spend an evening than playing Euchre.
