Found out a girl I went to school with died suddenly at work from covid. Not someone I really knew well even though I went to school with here for eight years, but kind scary since she was my same age, lived in the same area etc and apparently just coded out while at work.
Sudden death from Covid-19? She had Covid, and we can assume she was asymptomatic since she was at work, and died suddenly? I'd like to see the report on that one.

Finally slept last night. My hip and back have been aching bad for a few weeks. I looked up hip stretched on the internet and after a hot shower did a bunch of stretches. Then the GF used the massage hammer thing on my back and hips. With the help of the massager and some bourbon I fell asleep at a respectable hour, without the need for ice packs, and finally got a good night sleep.
Took two trailers of trash, mostly trimmed tree branches the the dump. Helped clean the pool for spring start up. Had to deal with a fuel leak on the 4-wheeler, the fuel valve was leaking so bypassed it with a T-connector until I can get around to ordering a new fuel selector switch. (on/off/reserve)
Worked on a drain for the future temporary duck pond, may get that set up this weekend. It is a heavy duty, collapsible kid/pet pool that I cut a hole in the bottom for a drain to connect to a water pump/filter to hopefully keep the water clean for the ducks. Every day water changes are a waste of water. A filter will keep it cleaner longer and when I backflush the filter I will use the poop water to water trees and other stuff in the yard.
Getting ready to play some Euchre. Only one or two ways better to spend an evening than playing Euchre.
@INresponse We play a similar game to Euchre, called 500 in my family. I agree, it's a pleasant way to kill an evening...

That’s great to hear! Been thinking about you all day for days (don’t take that the wrong way 😂) The railroad guys have been down from our place (for a few days) replacing the road at the tracks or something fancy like that. I was telling my husband that it would have been cool if you’d been there so we could have you over for BBQ. But we know your to smart to be in CA 😉
Me… well I’m still alive. Time for bed here but not sleepy yet so forum’ing.

I most definitely will take that the wrong way!😉😂

If those workers are Union Pacific guys, I probably know some of them. It would have been wild if I was working right there in your backyard. But I very rarely work on crossing gangs, so it wouldn't have happened...

If your gunna take it the wrong way then I’ll tell ya I think of you every time I see the train men 😜. One of the lines runs parallel to the road to work for many miles.
I do believe it’s Union Pacific who was doing the work. I know your not here for sure because the crossings are never smooth when they finish 😉

I like to leave 'em a little bumpy. That way everyone thinks of me, every time they go over the crossing...😂

(Usually, they say my name, along with bad words...)

Actually, crossing gangs are a pretty good job. You get paid to sit in the truck a lot. But when it's go time, you bust your tail. I don't like it, but I did some crossing work when I was a new hire.

Work.....boo....
After work finished a quick sewing Machine base so I dint have to use the big View attachment 66445View attachment 66445ugly stand.
I love the way you set up your machine, we have a portable unit with a box lid type of arrangement and we picked up a new one last weekend. The one we just got looks just like yours (1921 model 66 ?) but with the treadle and 4 drawer cabinet, I have been looking it over trying to figure out all the parts I will need to fully restore it to good working order. So far it is a very short list about $25 worth of parts that I can see. Our has the add-on motor but they put a white cord on it, if I get everything working right I might replace the motor with a black corded/black foot switch to make it all look right (I can pick it up for about $45).

I have a diagnosis for that - I'm pretty sure you have a drywall allergy 😂 Causes the weirdest things.

Today, I went and got the first shot... Not bad they were well organized and the Nurse didn't let me see the needle so I didn't pass out...

Son is picking up some new furniture that he bought on auction and will bring part of it here. I am thinking about renting a storage unit to try to reduce our clutter.... tooo much junk!

Going to make a call on a pickup truck today. 2019 Nissan Frontier 4x4 with 16k miles. I don't think it's exactly what I'm looking for, but the dealer has it priced about 6k under book. I could buy it without a loan. If it's got a clean title it might be worth going to look at...
Truck has a salvage title. Gah! No thanks. I knew the price was too good to be true. Back to square one...

Buy it , spit shine it, turn around and sell it , make money.

I been playing that game for years.😊, But I like tinkering.

Resting today ,
tinkered too much yesterday. Pulled the entire windshield wiper assy out of Lebaron and ordered $10 worth of bushings. Muscles hurt I didn't know I had.

Will be going for big bluegill late lunch around 2pm.

If I'm able to move a little better , later, may go under car , and replace fuel filter.

Wife's working on another baby quilt.

Beautiful weather here,
Y'all have a beautiful day.

Don't forget🎅

Jim

I need to fix my ugly 1939 model 66-18, crinkle finish with back tack. The timing is off...

Not sure I have the finesse for a treadle but thinking about getting one.

You might be surprised. You actually have more control with the treadle.

At our house we might be sewing machine poor... the wife has always made garments (including my favorite fleece hunting shirt). For Modern Machines I think she has a set of Juki sewing machine and 5 thread surger. She also has a Husqvarna, Singer 4 thread surger. We have an old white what I am allowed to sew with.... ;)

We also have 3 treadles, 1 White and two Singers, the newest (to us) is the 1921 model 66, we also have an old singer portable (black leather covered case) I think it is a 221 but not sure.

I am normally not allowed to play with the wife's toys.

BTW the Husq is one of the computerized ones from around 1999 and she hates it, is always needs cleaning and adjusting.

The Juki machines have been machines reliable and she loves them.

I'll be on and offline for the next week or 10days, computer problems. I'll be switching back and forth between my laptop and desktop as work on both progresses.

Last night my desktop started freezing after windows updated itself, most notably my mouse would stop working and cursor would disappear. I had already started preparing for a major system backup. So, I fast tracked the backup.

Last night I got ISO disks created for 3 versions of Linux. This morning I printed out 3 pages of keyboard commands for use with windows (don't need a mouse). I also did a hard backup to a thumb drive of files that have changed since my last major backup (13GB). Now I'm doing a normal major backup to another thumb drive, that'll take a few hours.

2yrs ago I started a major project to switch to Linux. Frankly, because of cataracts I didn't trust myself to do the work necessary, it kept getting pushed back. I guess now is the time.

After the current backup is complete I'll start the switch. I have a new harddrive in a box. I'll install it and load a clean version of Linux Mint/Cinnamon. Next will be loading all my backup data to the new drive and go from there.

Recently someone posted links to a hardware switch available on amerzit that allows switching between drives (for a manual switch dual boot system). Please post those links again. I'd rather have a dual boot system that keeps windows physically separated from Linux. So, running a dual boot system from a single drive or the endless variations of the same do not interest me. Any help in locating a hardware drive switch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

We are out of brass cleaner what else an we use?

I use a Rebel Tumbler with stainless steel media, a squirt of Dawn dishwashing soap and a touch of citric acid. Believe we are thinking of two different types of brass. I'm thinking of brass as in the cartridge of ammunition that is used for reloading.
