I bet that thing ran good. I always wanted to build one of those for a drag car.Be thankful you aren't working on a 76 V-8 MONZA, had to remove the tire and jack up the engine to change the plugs. Your buzz box actually looks like it will be fun to work on.... Sorry, loose nut speaking.

A 5 ft digging bar makes a superpurb lever for hooking up implements. If I ever get off my butt....
I gotta start bush hogging.
I'm not excited about it.
Gotta force myself . Got the grader blade on tractor , swapping to bush hog is a pia.
I'm gonna get started here in a few minutes.
Too bad it's not lunch time yet.
Wife is about to chase me out.
She says she is my motivation.

Just killed a Black eastern hognose snake AKA puff adder. It kinda freaked me out since I never saw one flare it's head before. I got visions of a cobra before I shot. lol Scaredy cat! Internet research tells me they are somewhat poisonous so I guess that's a good snake now. Learned something else too, I won't be picking up anymore black snakes after this which I've done all my life. |

I just read something that might not be good news for our west coast friends:
" The water crisis along the California-Oregon border went from dire to catastrophic this week as federal regulators shut off irrigation water to farmers from a critical reservoir and said they would not send extra water to dying salmon downstream or to a half-dozen wildlife refuges that harbor millions of migrating birds each year. "
Growing up a desert rat water always worries me. I know that this is a Northern California issue, but I think that it may just be the canary in the coal mine. When you have water or water quality issues you end up with water-born issues on crops and stuff, the domino effect of little changes that just keep stressing other parts of the system.
Guess I am just an alarmist....

I do as well because I know it isn't in our food budget.Hey @hashbrown I feel guilty if I stop at Mc Donalds
Perhaps they should consider not selling their water to LasVegas! I realized that's a little farther south, but they drain the Sierra and White mt. range for all the casinos. (Perhaps that part should go in the political threads). They've had good snow-fall but CA does it's own thing . Rain fall has been nonexistent though. Goose Lake (CA/OR boarder) is dry and the ranchers down there have been hauling water to their cattle for a month now - and this is just spring. What happens come August?I just read something that might not be good news for our west coast friends:

When I was stupid and moved to Las Vegas in 1992 and say all the new construction going on it didn't take me long to begin asking what they would do if/when Lake Mead dries up. I presented that question hundreds of times over my 21 years there ( was only planning to stay 10 to 12 years). I still ask that question. The lake is on the downfall most every year and they still keep building more houses and businesses and hotels and casinos.Perhaps they should consider not selling their water to LasVegas! Well, we went and played with the septic tank. Luckily the drain field looked good. I will call Monday to have it re-inspected. Got the yard mowed here yesterday and up the river today so that's done for another week.
I would love to hear how you make your Canned Meat Loaf... We can stews and soups for quick meals but not meatloaf.... yet.
well, i tend to over simplify things other people might have better recipes
i got a big bowl and mixed up my ground elk and added some ground turkey for added moisture. you can use plain ground beef. ive done that also with very good results.
i diced some onion and celery, added some salt and pepper nad tossed 2 envelopes of litptons onion beefy mix, a dash or worcheter sauce, crackers, eggs, spic3s, and garlic powder. its a flavor i like but the onion mushroom is also good. butr the thing is ---make a big batch of YOUR favorite meat loaf recipe
cold pack it in to wide mouth sterile jars and pressure can. some people like wide mouth pints but i did quarts . you need to add a bit at a time and tamp it down to make it firm with no air gaps. easy to do. i left a good one inch head space, did not need to add any liquid as the meat does that.
it is a meal in a jar. it comes out as this loaf shape, you can slice it or crumble it, but it works very well.
i like it cause with a jar i can use it with some taters and gravy and veg or chop it up with some spaghetti sauce and pasta or slice it cold for a sandwich, lots of things you can do. if you do some plesae let us know how it comes out and if you like it

Thanks, that is awesome. I like the idea of a meat loaf that I can store in the pantry, no freezer, no thawing. I never would have thought of that!
Oh, how long do you pressure can it? I am assuming 11 psi (plus adjustment for elevation) but how long?
