Road trip yesterday to Tarleton State University to watch my oldest granddaughter graduate with her Bachelor degree. Her older brother is out of country on a ship headed back to San Diego and will be on leave soon. Haven't seen him since last summer. Other brother came and two littles stayed home with other sister. Left at 11:00am and home at 11:00 pm. She is 5th generation college graduate on my side, 3rd on my husbands side and 1 st ever on her daddy's side. Proud of her graduating in 3 years. Lots of dual credit in high school. One of her jobs there was to work in an axe throwing place. Going to Walmart to pick up husbands new RX for his blood pressure and TS for cat food this morning. Planning to mow if grass dry. Granddaughter has play performance at 6. Two grandsons have piano rectal tomorrow. Ready for beach in June!!!

Be thankful you aren't working on a 76 V-8 MONZA, had to remove the tire and jack up the engine to change the plugs. Your buzz box actually looks like it will be fun to work on.... Sorry, loose nut speaking. ;)
I bet that thing ran good. I always wanted to build one of those for a drag car.

I just read something that might not be good news for our west coast friends:
" The water crisis along the California-Oregon border went from dire to catastrophic this week as federal regulators shut off irrigation water to farmers from a critical reservoir and said they would not send extra water to dying salmon downstream or to a half-dozen wildlife refuges that harbor millions of migrating birds each year. "

Growing up a desert rat water always worries me. I know that this is a Northern California issue, but I think that it may just be the canary in the coal mine. When you have water or water quality issues you end up with water-born issues on crops and stuff, the domino effect of little changes that just keep stressing other parts of the system.

Guess I am just an alarmist....

Buddy of mine had the "Spider" version.. it was okay but very weak. Finally, we decided to do a tune up using an engine hoist and a strong 350, it ran much better, but it was still a pain to do a tune up... Car only lasted a year after that, he ran out of corner and totally redecorated the paint job on all 6 sides, (right, left, top, bottom, front and rear), yep it was all mangled beyond recovery. He walked (limped) away from it, but he got lots of practice.

If I ever get off my butt....
I gotta start bush hogging.

I'm not excited about it.

Gotta force myself . Got the grader blade on tractor , swapping to bush hog is a pia.

I'm gonna get started here in a few minutes.

Too bad it's not lunch time yet.

Wife is about to chase me out.
She says she is my motivation.

A 5 ft digging bar makes a superpurb lever for hooking up implements.

Oops!!!

Just killed a Black eastern hognose snake AKA puff adder. It kinda freaked me out since I never saw one flare it's head before. I got visions of a cobra before I shot. lol Scaredy cat! Internet research tells me they are somewhat poisonous so I guess that's a good snake now. Learned something else too, I won't be picking up anymore black snakes after this which I've done all my life.
AIR and OPPORTUNITY is all that stands between you and your dreams.

The boy and I got up early this morning thought we would work on the construction site for a couple of hours. We decided go grab some breakfast at Shoneys I hadn't been there in years and Jake had never been there. We ordered the buffet and a couple of drinks. I got an absolute shock when we got the bill, $37 for two buffets and 2 drinks.

Finished the spring weeding of the garden. While helping my buddy find a pop rivet gun he picked what looked like a length of wire off the floor and asked "what is this?". Remember last week me reporting I had screwed up the flex shaft for my Dremel tool? Wrong. The shaft had fallen out and was literally under foot the whole time. So now I have a spare on hand. "One is none and two gets it done"

We are relaxing on the front porch until the girls show up for a sleep over.

Behave

I'm beat.

Graded rental property driveway , and swapped the blade for mower.

Finished all the bush hogging in one day , normally takes 2 days.
Only had to replace one shear pin.

Unusual....not one rabbit or snake.

Pulled into shed just before dark, and it started raining.

Got my bushings in mail to overhaul the windshield wiper system on Lebaron. Maybe Monday.

Showered and relaxing.

Y'all sleep well, I will.

Perhaps they should consider not selling their water to LasVegas! I realized that's a little farther south, but they drain the Sierra and White mt. range for all the casinos. (Perhaps that part should go in the political threads). They've had good snow-fall but CA does it's own thing 🤪 . Rain fall has been nonexistent though. Goose Lake (CA/OR boarder) is dry and the ranchers down there have been hauling water to their cattle for a month now - and this is just spring. What happens come August?

Well, we went and played with the septic tank. Luckily the drain field looked good. I will call Monday to have it re-inspected. Got the yard mowed here yesterday and up the river today so that's done for another week.

When I was stupid and moved to Las Vegas in 1992 and say all the new construction going on it didn't take me long to begin asking what they would do if/when Lake Mead dries up. I presented that question hundreds of times over my 21 years there ( was only planning to stay 10 to 12 years). I still ask that question. The lake is on the downfall most every year and they still keep building more houses and businesses and hotels and casinos.
Everything else aside, how do you flush a toilet without water?

Moved the toy hauler out of the garage and set up the scaffolding in preparation for the drywall install. Reorganized the disorganized mess in the garage, and then called it a day. It's supposed to cool off about 10 degrees or more the next several days so it will be a good time to do the garage drywall. At least in the house I can turn on the A/C if it starts getting warm, that is not an option for the garage.

I would love to hear how you make your Canned Meat Loaf... We can stews and soups for quick meals but not meatloaf.... yet.

well, i tend to over simplify things other people might have better recipes

i got a big bowl and mixed up my ground elk and added some ground turkey for added moisture. you can use plain ground beef. ive done that also with very good results. a wide mouth quart will hold roughly 1 lb of meat loaf mix. tamp it down real good

i diced some onion and celery, added some salt and pepper nad tossed 2 envelopes of litptons onion beefy mix, a dash or worcheter sauce, crackers, eggs, spic3s, and garlic powder. its a flavor i like but the onion mushroom is also good. butr the thing is ---make a big batch of YOUR favorite meat loaf recipe

cold pack it in to wide mouth sterile jars and pressure can. some people like wide mouth pints but i did quarts . you need to add a bit at a time and tamp it down to make it firm with no air gaps. easy to do. i left a good one inch head space, did not need to add any liquid as the meat does that.

it is a meal in a jar. it comes out as this loaf shape, you can slice it or crumble it, but it works very well.

i like it cause with a jar i can use it with some taters and gravy and veg or chop it up with some spaghetti sauce and pasta or slice it cold for a sandwich, lots of things you can do. if you do some plesae let us know how it comes out and if you like it

Thanks, that is awesome. I like the idea of a meat loaf that I can store in the pantry, no freezer, no thawing. I never would have thought of that!

Oh, how long do you pressure can it? I am assuming 11 psi (plus adjustment for elevation) but how long?

I use my own recipe and when it is in the jar, I push the round handle of a spoon straight down through the middle and add BBQ sauce. The topping is already in the jar!

75 minutes for pints and 90 minutes for quarts. Meat times.

Thursday we got DH's jeep back. Fuel pump and filter was about $140 (we bought it), Installation was $200. It was a pain to do. We still need to get a fuel filter for my jeep. I went to Kroger and bought 5 half gallons of milk and pressure canned them. Tastes great!

Yesterday, I did a video, then cooked for a funeral at Church.
Served meal for family and cleaned up after.
I was tired.

Today, I've pulled the electric blanket off my bed for the year, set our eBay account for "time away" while I go on my trip. DH would have too much trouble printing labels, packing items.

Going to do video in a few minutes.
Go to Sunday School and Curch.
Walk dogs.
Prune roses and maybe plant a few plants I got for free.
