My favorite cousin called first thing this morning and wanted to go to Hobby Lobby and Walmart. So after husband got ready, off we went. Came home at lunchtime and I've been trying to catch up since. But did talk husband into ordering pizza tonight, so cooking is one less thing. Twins should be home anytime on the bus, last day of school for them. But one is off to work after chores, and the other is off to a Boy Scout weekend in about a half an hour. Because there will be chaos with all of that in about five minutes, I think I'll go out and water the garden.

Well, presently I'm sitting here just trying to keep warm, a few days ago it turned cold, presently at 5:15 PM it's 55 degrees out, as per Territory Seed Company info, I'm not planting anything until Memorial Day is over, the soil is just not warm enough, growth would be slow and what did grow, the bugs would get. There are things I'd like to do outside but I'm just an old wimp trying to stay warm, when I get off line, I'm going to my glider rocker, turn on the heating pad and wrap myself in a blanket.

Had to go to town this afternoon, again. Lite shopping, picked up a few treated posts so I can continue work around the corral. I went back and took more photos of a special plant I found yesterday. On the way home I got a surprise, water hemlock was blooming already, saw some beside the highway. I stopped and went back for photos. Stopped for a few more plant photos at another spot but was losing light fast. The sun had already gone down. Back home now, time to rest.

Spent the morning working of fencing at the new property. After lunch one of the neighbors called and asked if they could come see the greenhouse. They asked lots of questions and took lots of pictures. After they left we went back to the other place to finish hanging a gate and the kid called. We had cellphone reception, I was shocked! But.... She said the stuff in the refrigerator freezer was thawing out and the ice was melting. Ran back up the mtn and sure enough, the frig is dying. It's only 2 yrs old! 😡

One of those odds and ends days: got the trailer cleaned out and dusted etc. Put the new sticker on the license plate so if we actually roll with her, she's legal. Have been watering most of the day. We've had rain like weather, but no actual rain so it's still dry. Got 3 loads of laundry done. Made a batch of laundry soap different then how I usually do it so will see. Got a couple vintage hats listed in my Etsy shop. Always surprised how long that actually takes. I also finally hand washed my great grandmother's handkerchiefs and scarves that I inherited. They have been in a plastic bag because my gma had them and was a heavy smoker. They were actually pretty clean and didn't reek like I expected. That's okay, I'd still rather have them clean.

After not sleeping last night my morning nap took me to about 10:30 so I totaled a few hours of sleep time. Went to town to take a kid to piano lessons and ran some errands. Stopped at The Restore and the other kid found a selection of new wellies for $20. Found a pair that fit me and scored a big savings. I don't expect to wear them much but they will be better than slippers when I need to go on a quick venture outside, especially in the winter with snow on the ground when fetching firewood or watering a tree.
Stopped at a couple music stores and gathered information on piano teachers and a piano tuner. Asked about electronic, entry level drum sets and was amazed at the lack of effort from the sales person. She gave me a price on what they had, didn't offer to show me anything, didn't ask any questions, and told me the make and model and told me to look it up. She wouldn't even write it down for me. However after a quick bit of searching I realized what she suggested wasn't for me so unfortunately I will probably be ordering one off amazon. Last year I bought a full size entry level 6 string guitar but my fingers are too fat and I can't press just one string when trying to do the chords. Somehow I think that wont be a problem with a drum set. Plus my oldest son has been asking for drums for many years so this should give him some entertainment while he is visiting this summer. As for me, I have no rhythm so maybe toying with the drum set will help with that and give me a little exercise.
50* and windy this evening. Everyone is tired so as usual I am guessing we wont be playing a game. Hopefully I can find a good movie the GF will actually watch.

I'm tired from reading your list. I hope you have a good day.

Throw the dirty laundry and bed sheets down the stairway. Laundry day.
Finish writing a short story
Late morning high school graduation open house. Killed the morning's productivity.
Clear the brush from away a tree that we are dropping the first of June.
Weed wack more of the property.
Hopefully add today's work clothes to the last load of laundry.
Final proof read story to post later today?

Smoking a turkey for dinner, or at this point a late night snack. Chilly weather today to the smoker is having a tough time staying hot. Added more charcoal and wood chips so hopefully that will help. Odds are it will be finished in the oven this evening. About to start on drywall install again. Yippee. I guess my R&R is over for today.

Urban you need to quit slacking off and get busy.

Been digging in the garden all day and put about 20 more tomatoes, 6 more cukes, and 8 more button squash in the ground. Husband took off on the property on the mower, and I need to remember to either turn on my handitalkie or have my cell phone. He got the mower stuck in barbed wire and had to make his way back, without the walker or the cane. We do have a bench near the milkhouse he could sit and rest. Ordering more benches. The kids are usually running around, but granddaughter was at work, little one was in the house with Barbies and a neighbor friend, and grandson out of town till tomorrow. So no one to yell for that was out and about.

The Princess is feeling the weather so I am letting her sleep but not before she fell while trying to mow the grass. She put ice on her ankle and I finished the mowing.

I watered the garden because I noticed the strawberries looked like they needed water. I rarely water the garden because God takes care of that most years. But this year has been dry for us.

I did see the dentist and doctor this week and I am cleared by both for another 4 months.

Tomorrow we entertain the granddaughters. Monday I expect a delivery of fence material that we will have to install. I did purchase a post hole digger to make that part of the work easier.

Re internal combustion engines

I had reported a fews weeks ago my brother pulled his shoulder trying to start the chain saw. Word came back from the Stihl authorized dealer that the cylinder and piston are scored and not worth repairing. My brother priced replacment costs and my tool budget is blown for the next month or 2 depending if we a direct replacement or the next bigger model.

I had to do some math and hiking today. I didn't think our new pasture looked ”right”. Hubby and the neighbor were thinking that it may just be the elevation changes because of the mountain and a giant arroyo that runs along one fence. Since I'm stubborn, I went out this morning with a map of our new place and a gps. I found all of our survey markers except along the arroyo. I compared all the measurements to the county map and I was right. The fenced land on the other side is ours too, about 6 acres. The father of the last owner had horses and I guess he didn't want them going down into the arroyo.

We worked today trying to finish up a 4 plex we are closing in a few days. Doing punch work and cleaning. Alexandra and Jake helped and we got a lot of work done. 3 of the new home owners showed up and were excited about their new homes. We went out after we finished up for a Chicago style pie and I had a few beers kinda celebrating competition of another building. We came home and got things ready to float Bull Creek in the morning.

We managed to get almost everything in a really old frig. Pretty sure it's older than me, I got 5 years ago it in trade for 7 turkey poults.
I have an old Hotpoint refrigerator that was given to us when we lived in Colorado, I'd say it was built in the late 40's or in the 50's, the door seals are shot but it still runs great, we've used it for aging venison and elk meat. It needs a new thermostat switch and a door seal, with those replaced it would run like new.

After going to town 2 days in a row I needed rest, continued computer organization. I’ve accomplished a great deal in that area this week. I finished flashing iso’s to thumb drives. It’s about time to make a decision on which way to go… rebuilding my desktop or buy one, leaning toward buying one. Either way I’m making the whole sale switch to Linux. I’ll be ready for that by Monday.

Moments ago the pup kept barking at something. I found my horse and donkey were out. I could see sign a cow had knocked a gate open earlier, must have went back in. The horse and donkey had just walked out of the pasture. They were kind, I opened the gate the rest of the way and gave them a call, that didn’t work. I then walked to where they could see me and called again, they followed me then. I just walked back through the gate into the pasture with the donkey nipping at my fingers. Then I had to fix the gate, took about 5min.

Nothing going on but the tv now.

Hash ... He looks like he can handle his beers well...
Try to get some maters and peppers in the ground
Need to build some raised beds
Need to build a green house but when you work out a town every day there ain't enuf time on the ten minute break we call the "weekend" to get much extra done.
Maybe I need to retire again so I can get catched up!
