Good you both are there. It's gotta be making you feel better. I always thought the farm was my happy place when we lived in New Mexico, and couldn't wait to get back here. Favorite cousin, her daughter, and I painted the kitchen and a small bathroom today. It was pouring rain and some hail outside, so no screen porch painting. Then we had lunch I made and watched a Wagon Train. Favorite cousin loved it. I took them home this afternoon and stopped in at the amish grocery. They had a good price on olive oil and coconut oil that came in, so I got a whole lot of both.Thank you everyone for your kind words, good thoughts and prayers. It all means so much to me and helps to soothe my soul. Guess you can say, you all are my Xanax.
We’re home at the cabin. Dad actually drove the whole way—he does real good on the highways even at his age and it helped to keep him feeling vital. Dog didn’t puke on the ride up so things are looking up.
Water is down a lot here already. Just past the pine tree is about 15 to the summer’s edge of the lake.

I cut the windings off with an angle grinder then pry out the coil from the armatures.... Anyway, betting there's 20lbs of copper in each generator, wondering the best method for stripping it out. Days away from that, just need to pull them out of the brush then moved to the new and growing scrap pile for now... Oh, found a peach tree i didn't know i had, can see it, just can't get to it yet, more brush to clear.
Trying some behavior modification with the pup. The new collar...the beep doesn't bother him, but he does not like the vibrate function. So this can be good. The guineas were out in the rain, like they normal do, gamebirds don't care at all about the rain. Pup was out and got one of them...too wet to fly, almost killed it. So this can come in handy.
My kind of girl!use to be this lady i use to see around from time to time...she always wore military pants and combat boots tucked in and some type frilly paisley shirt/blouse thing...she was a woodswoman and was always out digging up roots and messing with stuff outdoors....she was a hottie...hands always stained from black walnut stuff.
Blackberries?Just about done with the new roof over the porch on the chicken coop.

Could you share more info in the garden thread about that hedge. I have a dream of creating one of those on the South edge of my back field. @ThePrincess wants a hedge we can eat.Yep. Lots of blackberries, raspberries and grapes.
Our guineas are farm free range. They are working guineas....they are here to eat bugs, ticks, chiggers, chase off snakes. Pup is a farm dog.Why was Pup outside with those guineas...?!?
It's working! He was better behaved indoors this evening. Ignores the beep, stops and looks at the vibrate. The hotstick has done wonders for my calf’s behavior. Only took 3 times and saying the word ‘Baaack!’ with each. Now I just say the word and the calf backs off. He’ll even stand and wait until I allow him to eat from the trough he saw me pour feed into. No more running over me.
Today dad had to open and guard a gate to keep the calf from getting out while I moved scrap metal with the tractor. The calf was no problem, dad just pointed is walking stick at him and said Baaack! Calf went right back into the corral. This is exactly why I bought the hotstick, now the calf even respects dad. $60 for a teaching tool, now he’s learned what not to do.
Maybe your pup only needs a few lessons. Once he learns he’ll behave! Dogs learn quicker than cows and are more eager to please, just have to get his attention by some means.

More brush clearing this afternoon, fed the calf and called it a day. No plans but tv...

Wonder what Pups do for FUN...?!?Our guineas are farm free range. They are working guineas....they are here to eat bugs, ticks, chiggers, chase off snakes. Pup is a farm dog.
He likes the soccer ball the best. And he loves smelling everything on the farm. His favorite spot to hang out in the afternoon is on the big porch at the top of the ramp where he can look out at everything and he is learning not to eat the packages Amazon drops off. Right now he is exhausted after a long day. In his big cage on his new doggo blanket sleeping on his back with his legs up in the air.Wonder what Pups do for FUN...?!?
Adding sourdough bread to my Christmas list!!Baked maybe my best loaf of sourdough yet. Got the pumpkin on the dehydrator. Went and picked up our beef , came home (1hr trip each way) and got it in the freezer. Another load of laundry done- means I will have to do some ironing soon.
Just stop by after work tomorrowAdding sourdough bread to my Christmas list!!
Our pup just turned a year old. He’s eaten 3 beds. He plucks and eats our produce from the garden (including hot peppers). He loves dead critters to play with since they don’t get upset when he chews on them. He ate through a young tree and has remodeled multiple flower pots. I’m sure glad he’s not a puppy nowHe likes the soccer ball the best. And he loves smelling everything on the farm. But no guineas for him.
