I haven't spoken directly to him recently, but I have seen posts from him on another platform. I'll shoot him a message.
Just heard back from @phideaux He is doing well after some recent health issues. He's staying busy with his house. He says hello to his friends here and appreciates those who are thinking of him.

Give us an update Caribou, how are you???
I'm fine. I went on a 3 week trip to include some doctor visits and it turned into w 3 month trip to include a hospital stay. I had a little bit of a stroke. Not a bad one but I'm on yet more pills, for vertigo. I got back yesterday. Sorry, no wifi at my other house.

Sorry for your ordeal! You were missed! Hope you are feeling good!

hmmm... I wonder if that might be part of my issue.
They gave me a drug called Meclazine, aka Antivert. It is used for vertigo and motion sickness. It works for me, without it I can neither walk nor drive.

without it I can neither walk nor drive.

I can walk most days and other days it's like I wobble all over the place. I have fallen about 8 times since being home. I haven't attempted driving, no desire to do so any time soon, lol.

This drug got me out of the hospital. They told me to take less if I could so I worked myself off the drug completely. About two weeks later I was driving into Anchorage to take my dog to the vet. When we got there I got out of the car, used the car to support myself till I could reach the passenger seat, and let the wife deal with the vet and drive home. The next three weeks I spent balancing my drug. It appears that I need more sometimes and less others.

P.S. I've fallen a couple of times myself. I have a narrow hallway and adequate tall furniture between my chair and the bathroom so there is plenty to hold onto, helping me. I have a walker, should I want it, and two canes.

Don't get the walker with the wheels, those damn things will kill you!
LOL, that's what they gave me, I don't use it at all, just a cane now.

I'm told, that if you lay a spoon flat against your throat, just under your ear, and tap it a few minutes with another spoon it helps a lot! seems to help tinnitus as well.

I have used that in the past also and it worked for me too.
Count me among the ranks of those who are glad to see you back. 😊

I had vertigo and I couldn't even stand up.
I crawled across the floor to the bathroom so I could throw up.
I watched a video on doing the Epley maneuver and it really helped.
My wife had the same results.
It's safe and easy to do.

I've never heard of this - awesome!
