Do you make your own curry? I know it is tasty, but have no idea how they make it so tasty. Do you have a recipe, or do you buy it at the store?
I make my own curry ( Indian, Thai and even Japanese )
I don't buy anything premade at the store and we almost never go out to eat....

I have recipes typed up but they are on a different computer, will post for you when I get a chance

ok here is my Thai recipe I use:

and I guess I do buy premade red curry paste ( Thai kitchen brand, they sell it pretty much any grocery store)

1 can coconut milk
3 tbps ( half a jar of this) red curry paste
3 tbsp fish sauce
some hot sauce ( the curry paste is not hot enough)
a little salt
basil ( dry or fresh) , about a tbsp dry

put this in a large pan and heat up on low heat

add thinly sliced chicken breast
cook until chicken is not pink
add one chopped red pepper
add one can of bamboo shoots
add one can of pineapple

What do you stuff in your grape leaves??
rice, ground goat ( or lamb but daughter doesn't like lamb) onion, garlic, a few tomatoes chopped, that's it , fresh leaves from the grapevine outside
I cook the rice and meat and stuff them, then put them in a casserole dish with some white cooking wine and some lemon slices on top , they go in the oven with something heavy on top, usually use a heavy skillet on top of some parchment paper

Thank you, that sounds really good!!

week 3 day 6

sweet and sour red cabbage, schnitzel and potatoes , daughter loves German food, so that is what she is getting
Funny thing, granddaughter loves ALL food. My daughter hated all food when she was a baby and kid growing up. She lived on chocolate milk and pancakes practically. She is still picky and allergic to chicken protein from all things but she eats way more food now. I think the Navy cured her of being completely picky.

week 3 day 7
of course with visitors and desserts every day I am sure I did not lose any weight, so I will weight until next week to weight myself again....

Today I am making Phad Thai. Hope daughter will like it. She is generally not that fond of Asian food or spicy food, but I will make it not spicy and the rest of us can add hot sauce
It's a little difficult for me to cook for her. She mostly eats beef and I don't eat that much at all, and don't have any here right now ( we do not have cattle) . So we will see how she likes today's vegetarian meal ....
Will also make banana pudding, everyone likes that

week 4 day 2

I hope I have time for this after shopping but planning on stuffed zuccine and smashed potatoes

going to make 1 dessert a week this month, asked husband and son for 4 each and picked the top ones I want to make: better than *** cake ( yes that is what it is called, basically walnut pie crust in bottom, layer of cream cheese and cool whip, layer of chocolate pudding and then more cool whip) , homemade snickers bars, chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon roll bread ( never bring any home from the market)

11 months of dieting & I have kelp the weight off, that includes cheating with Hashbrowns & pizza from time to time.
I am very happy this low carb thing works.

week 4 day 3

today I am going to make kimchi stew with rice

had some watermelon and a piece of bread ( good bread left from market) yesterday evening

Warned son I am going to make zuccini pizza at least once this summer. It has them in the crust and son does not particularly like it, but husband did so son will have to live with it. If both hated it, I would probably not make it

week 4 day 5

I think I am going to make Mexican today, the corn tortilla enchiladas with green chilies and veggies, plus cheese of course.

I want to make the stuffed grapeleaves again soon too, photo attached stuffed leaves.jpg

no you eat the whole thing, mine are sort of large so you can cut them in half first. You put greek yogurt and cucumber sauce on them. They are not hard to make if you have grape vines and the leaves look good. Fall the leaves get tough so I need to make them again soon. You can buy them in stores sometimes but I haven't seen any around here

week 5 day 2

I am glad I am keeping track of my diet on this thread, now I know what works and what doesn't....
what worked: having food only between 10 and 6, not making many desserts and having soup with the main meal.

What doesn't work is now: I actually gained a pound , back to 11

I am not making soup, I am eating late ( because we take care of the animals around 6 and I have been eating a lot of desserts and bread

You would think in this heat I would lose weight, but not. I need to do my 3 day crash diet
(need to go shopping first)

today Thai chicken curry and rice

week 5 day 2

putting Korean beef ribs in the crockpot so they are done when we get back, plus rice and some sort of veg

ended up making some Korean pork belly also, since the ribs didn't look like enough and this was really good. I got the pork belly slices at our meat processor, can't find that in a regular store. Fried it, and added Korean sauce ( gojujang pepper paste, a little rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic , pepper flakes, sugar, salt). I generally don't like eating large amounts of meat, but this I could have eaten the entire pan full...it was like bacon but much better LOL, wonderful for the diet .......

week 5 day 3

well at least I am back to the 10 lbs.....

today I don't want any meat after eating all that yesterday , so I am making cream of zuccini soup ( this is actually good, made some last year) and Austrian pancakes ( Kaiserschmarren )
Plus more watermelon. These are probably the best watermelons I have had in a long time, I guess some years they turn out better than others ( grown in Georgia, seedless , sold at stupid Walmart around here)

I myself have added another mile to my daily walk, and still eat conservative (watching bread especially) and in the last week, I've kept the same exact weight, plus or minus just a few ounces. I think the big guy upstairs is demanding that I just keep this weight?

After a year of watching my weight, exercising, and being generally a good boy... I was making great progress losing 25 pounds and several inches in my waist... Then between travel and other events I fell off the wagon for 4 weeks and I am back to square 1..... Exactly where I started...

Now, I need to motivate myself to being more focused and avoiding things like the foods I really like and TV.... Maybe I should wait until after Labor Day to start :)

wow so sorry, I am having a little problem in summer also. Can't get rid of those last 10 lbs

If you eat out while traveling I am not surprised. Restaurant food has lots of calories mostly I am sure

week 5 day 4

if you have extra zuccini here is a great recipe for soup, real easy too: cut up the zucchini and boil with some salt, chicken broth, a chopped onion and a small potato cut up. When soft put the chunks in blender and add just enough liquid to make a thick soup. Add some cream, some shredded cheddar and a little nutmeg and pepper.

today lamb burgers , potatoes from garden, salad
