Ben and Urban and I lost a friend on Mainstream Preppers, and that was a sad thing. His girlfriend came on and let us know. He liked goats. Even sent me a book on goats that I still have. Rest in Peace, HiHoBaron.
I was telling the wife about HiHoBaron the other day. It was nice that she came on and told us what had happened... There are members here who disappear and it leaves me full of questions... did we offend them? did something happen to them? I got a test e-mail from Ben this morning and I sent him back my current information. I think that sharing that kind of information with just a few people can help answer questions if something happens.

Rant, I am a slob, I always loose the TV remote or my glasses.

I have been thinking of my grandfather and he had a thing next to his chair, it was sort of a magazine stand with a narrow table at the top (about 9"X 16") with a cup-holder hole at the front and a sort of pocket at both ends (below the table) big enough to hold the remotes, or reading glasses. Each side had a compartment about 4" deep from the center line, each side had one about 14"X11"X4 that held magazines and books. The whole thing was about 2' tall, 16" long, and about 9" wide.

I can visualize it, but trying to find something like that just seems impossible, very frustrating...

One of my 93yr old ladies has a table like that!! She said she got it when she got married in 1947! Sits by her lift chair now, calls it her catch all!!

I have 2 of these. They work well to keep stuff easy to locate.
$15 on Amazon.
My Dad made several stands like you are talking about.
I have mine and his both but I lack the room for them.
I would send you one but it would cost a fortune. It's heavy and made of oak.

I am also a slob and I am forever losing things. No idea where my glasses are. Remote I always try to put back in the same spot in the living room. Man, I can visualize the table thing you're describing but can't remember the term for it.

Sleeping sitting up sucks, but at least I could sleep. Had the runs this morning though and that was not fun.

Took Mom & Bro to the doctor and he confirmed we all have Covid. Waited over an hour past appointment time to get results. Mom was getting antsy. Need to quarantine for at least another week. Feeling like garbage. headache and started having muscle pain in my back-- like a charley horse. Cleaning up and disinfecting is going to be a royal pain.

very frustrating...

since my eye surgeries i only need readers. Bought a pair for every room in the house. Solved that problem... sort of, for some reason they all end up by my chair. 😅 I have to spread them out again... usually do it on 'pick day'.

Guitar picks have the opposite problem. I keep 5 or 6 by my chair, yet they end up in every room in the house!!! So, when i'm out of picks i drop glasses off while i search, two birds! 🤣

I fell asleep in my recliner this afternoon. When i woke up i discovered i'd strained my back somehow. Being over 60 s$%^ 🤬

Maybe I've become an old softie, but with "Tank Girl's" disappearance, I've become acutely aware, and hate to know someone has passed, and I can't even send proper condolences.
It isn't just Tank Girl who is MIA. There are several people over time who have gone missing. We cannot force people to exchange information, but we can encourage it. I had a PM conversation with Pearl earlier this week about this very thing.

I'll jest look fer the buzzards circling and gagging above Fort mountain.......
Shh! they're about to land! *cocks 45*

This is how we do it around here.

My job is to walk around daily and find where the wife left all the remotes, and put them back in the little plastic basket. Ready for the following day's dispersion.
<3! I use a 5 gallon tote. :)

So, the Paxlovid seems to have reduced the runny nose and other symptoms. Mostly feeling tired, but still have a lot of stuffy nose and such. Mostly been sleeping because my body is tired and I need to rest. Slept all night & most of the day. Did get up to feed and water the cats and cook for Mom a few times. Mostly just sleeping though.

Problem is, we're out of milk and if we order curbside they give us the oldest stuff possible-- and last time the stuff was already expired. I guess we can go another week without milk but I wish I could rely on them to give us milk that isn't bad. Don't want to risk infecting anyone by going in. I really want some milk right now. LOL.

At least most other stuff I can get via curbside pickup. Going to have to do curbside for Samsclub to get more water soon.

I am with @havasu on having trouble dealing with the loss of folks. I just can't deal with it well anymore, there was a time when we were losing family members almost monthly, now I am one of the oldest ones left... Today, we seem to be losing our school chums, friends, and people we work with, with more and more loss the circle becomes smaller and smaller; coping becomes more and more difficult; it's almost easier to not acknowledge their passing....

I can still see images of HiHoBaron with his goats (the troops) walking on the roof of his truck, some images you just can't un-see.

Fairlife milk has stuff with an expiry months in the future. I get mine at "family Dollar", it's 1.25 cheaper than the chain grocery.

I have tried the powdered milk and the milk that has really long shelf life and its disgusting. I absolutely hate it. We had that crap in Guam and it was nasty.

Amish Heart, I thought of doing that but I live out of town so it is way out of his way. His car is also not built to withstand this crappy road. He once blew out a tire, bent the rim, and had his whole front grille and a headlight fall off hitting a pot hole on my road. Although, I could sanitize my card and have him go in if I met him at Walmart after he gets off work. Wish I could buy it online for in-store pickup and send him in for it, but my store doesn't have that option. I'll see if my friend is able to help out tomorrow. I could have him run in and grab stuff and put it in the cooler for me if we both meet at Walmart. I gave him some gloves he can wear to handle the card if need be. I trust him with it.

I'll work something out. Got a curbside order for Walmart this morning. Stocking up on soup and frozen food.
