Years ago I had a '69 Bronco. I loved it. I modified the 302 engine, added a lift kit, larger tires, cut out the fenders to fit the tires and the hood to fit the high rise manifold and 4 barrel carb and put a custom paint job on it. I'd like to find another one and restore it. But for now I'll have to make do with my Jeep Rubicon.
Buying a first generation Bronco these days, is like buying a Ferrari. I've seen them go for as much as $120,000 in restored-to-factory stock condition. 40 to 60k seems to be more normal though...

We got about 18 inches of snow the last couple of days, then a little warm up yesterday to 33 degrees. That was enough to soften the road base to where I got my Jeep stuck while going to the pump house to get water. Our well is a quarter mile from the house and is on its own generator. I dont have the generator set up with an auto start yet so I need to run down usually once a day to recharge the lines and fill the pressure tank. We have a total of a half mile of buried water lines going to different places.
Today I'll work on clearing our road. We have about 3 miles of road that I have to keep open.

My daughter and I are visiting Pops. Last night we went out for dinner with him. There's a restaurant local to him called The Princess, which is historic and has great cheap food. It has the world's longest marble soda fountain in it. Pops and I got their Friday night special - all you can eat Walleye for $10.95. I have fryer grease and beer batter breading running through my veins now...after that we visited mom in the home and played "Pegs and Jokers" with her. Then we stayed at the farm with Pops last night. I forgot how cold this old farmhouse gets in the winter. Woke up at 0550 freezing my toes off and now I guess I'm up for the day...

Today we are having our family Christmas... The son should be here by 15:00, the wife is fixing a chocolate orange tart and the soup that he likes... I have so much work to do before he gets here... I have already fixed the wife and I breakfast, cleaned the stove, done 2 loads of laundry, and vacuumed the main floor.

The wife gave me her list of what she wanted done and all I could say was good luck with that, you need to trim it down to what's important.....

The indoor garden is doing well, we have been eating salads off it the last couple of weeks, the carrots outside are so sweet that the wife wants to save them for eating raw in the salads (I am just pulling them as we need them, right now they are covered with about 9" of snow). The covered raised beds outside still have spinach, oregano, green onions, lettuce, and parsley growing in them, but the plants grow very slowly with the cold, the snow on top of them acts as an insulator so I try not to disturb them.

Love those old Broncos. But id never part with that kinda money for one
We had a 3/4 ton long bed Chevy 4X4 with locking differentials and a small block in the late 70s, it was set up to handle sand, we found that when we moved to the mountains of CO in did just fine in snow up to the bumpers (but it didn't like black ice). I would love to have something like that between 1990 and 2000 vintage, but I would still want manual window regulators (I hate replacing those dang motors and switches)....

I had a really good day and made a deposit in the karma bank. A little back story, we have a 1 year old female rottie and an old chiwawa. Our other dogs died of old age a few years ago. We have been talking about getting an adult dog from the pound as an outside farm dog. An Aussie, border collie, great pyrenees or a mixture. Something to keep an eye on things 24/7. Last night when I got home my wife said the pound had a pair of adult rotties that where adoptable starting this morning. I thought great adoption fees for 2 plus vet visits and food. But I am a just roll with it kinda guy and pick my battles.

It was a 45 minute drive. It seems the owner was a single woman and said she was coming back to get them but likely couldn't afford the fees.
When we got to the pound they were really mellow and Lovable. So we tried to introduce our girl to the female and it was a no go. She was aggressive from the start. Our rottie didn't react at all. She could care less. In the kennel next to them was a pyrenees mix. We were told it was not available. When we got home my wife was sad that we couldn't rescue the pair. I said well maybe we can donate part of the money so the owner can get them back. I was thinking about $200. My wife called and they said that was really nice. They would lower it to $80, but they couldn't take payment over the phone. So we drove all the way back again and wrote a check. While we were talking we got the details on the pyrenees. It was held up on a case of neglect and the court hearing was next week. The dog had been there since September. So we are at the top of the list to adopt her in a week or 2.

In the end I got to make 2 mom's happy saved 2 dogs and 60% of what adoption would have cost plus our donation is tax deductible. 😁

Still laying in a hospital bed, they tried to stent my blockage this morning by going through my wrist and couldn’t get where they needed to be. They will try again in the morning by going through my groin. I’m getting tired laying here ready to go home.
I did the double/ both side of the groin at once & the laying still & not moving for five hours was H*%L on my other muscles. My body hurt until they let me roll over on my side. The wait was so the tissue could heal enough that I would not bleed out. You are in our prayers.

Do you have studded tires for your truck? They do make a difference on the ice. I've got a 1997 F250, 460 engine, four wheel drive with an aluminum flat bed. Bought it new. We've got 2 Jeeps too, all have studded tires for winter.

Pops had a Stent put in around 2000 or so. The docs actually lost the first Stent. It went through his system and stopped in one of his kidneys, and it's still there today. So he had to wait a day and not move at all, then have a second procedure and not move after that. He got bedsores and that was hard on him. When you're used to moving, not moving sucks...

Still sickness at my favorite cousin's place, this time is her 15 yr old grandson. 102 fever for 5 days now. I stopped in, stayed away from everyone and brought her the finger thingy to measure his oxygen. Picked up a gallon of raw milk. Husband talked to her son in law about a cow he's bringing in to his friend for butchering. We'll pay for half the processing and half the meat will be ours, no charge for the cow. Very nice. I'll have to see what other things are taking up space in our freezers, and focus on that this week. Grandson's 02 was 98, so that was good, was worried about pneumonia. His mom will bring him in Monday if the fever persists. Lots of verified Influenza A in the community, and a hospitaled case of the flu with pneumonia...11 yr old girl. Little granddaughter still has a cough, but no fever. We have her on albuterol neb three times a day. She is a bit bored. She just made a two layered cake, waiting for it to cool. Mixed a bowl of blue frosting, and a bowl of purple frosting, and she's got something in mind to decorate it.

Power out for 1.5 hours and back on this morning and went out 45 minutes later. Off for 5 hours and back on. Husband freaks out as noTV, no way to heat food, no hobbies and has to crank truck for breathing treatment. We do have a gas stove installed and old propane tank that leaks when turn it on. Tank appears to be late 50, early 60 tank and propane company not sure if they can find valves for it. We may have to come up with another plan. Thankfully not cold. Just raining

Finished day 3/6 at work. We were pretty much full, so just maintenance stuff on most patients, nothing crazy and hardly any admits which was a nice break. Some nice patients family ordered us pizza so that was fantastic as I'm having to buy lunch at the hospital since the fridge is out in my RV.
Thankfully the roads were better driving back to the RV park since it was sunny today.

Mostly sat around the house today after dropping the wife off at the airport. Long flight for her ... 7 hours 25 minutes gate-to-gate ... but she's out of the snow now and enjoying paradise! I stayed behind this time. But I had my turn on the island a few months ago, so I'm glad she's getting some sunshine time with our daughter now. Next trip, we'll go together (our elderly pets will be gone by then, so we won't need one of us to stay behind to take care of them).

@hashbrown keep us updated on your progress. We're rooting for you!

I've been fighting various colds for around a month. Seems like as soon as it starts to clear up, it comes back with a vengeance. Coupled with working in the desert, which my Midwestern self is not accustomed to and is apparently very allergic to, I've been fighting a stuffy, runny nose for over a month. Today it turned into a phlegmmy cough also. No fever, no aches, no other symptoms until tonight. After supper my body suddenly told me it was time to get rid of all the fluids in my guts, right now! Hopefully it was just a reaction to the burgers I made for supper. I feel really good at the moment, but as a type 1 diabetic I have to stay on top of intestinal issues...
