I’m jealous! I’ve always wanted a corgi. Especially one to protect meGood morning! My corgi woke me up at 4 am because he heard rain. Apparently, he needed to come protect me. Sigh

Lead hand: A 3-card poker hand, which may just position as a high card, a couple, or three of a sort. Straights and flushes don't count. It should rank most reduced of the 3 hands. Center hand: A standard 5-card poker hand. It should rank higher than the lead hand. Base hand: A standard 5-card poker hand. It should rank the most noteworthy of the 3 hands. An OFC/P Progressive hand that disrupts these norms (by having a lead hand more grounded than the center hand, or a center hand more grounded than the base hand) is a fouled hand and naturally loses.Played poker with the guys till 1:30 am last night. Today raking some crypto poker until the Browns gam starts. Also makin a pork Turnkey ICO solutions in the crock pot and cooking a big batch of baked beans. going to can some of the beans.
Finished day 3/6 at work. We were pretty much full, so just maintenance stuff on most patients, nothing crazy and hardly any admits which was a nice break. Some nice patients family ordered us pizza so that was fantastic

@Double R you've made soap before? I haven't but it is still a hope.
@hashbrown I'm guessing you've been given the new diet guidelines. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
I'm glad you have a preacher you really like. My church has a new pastor and I can't warm up to him. There's nothing wrong with him, but...let's just say that if I was trying to build the perfect pastor from scratch, the finished product would be our old pastor. There was literally nothing I could find fault with in him. The new one might not be a worse pastor, he's just different...Washing a bunch of bedding from the closet that was blocked by the claw foot tub for almost 10 years. I found my electric blanket, but not the cord yet. I will not wash that due to my concern about damaging the cords. I've washed them before with no problems, but it is clean.
Church was great. While I have usually liked going to church, I really like our pastor. He is in his early 40's, has a lovely wife and 4 children. We are having discussion the hour before church about different aspects of Christianity. Our last topic was angels. Today's topic was miracles. We're going through the book of Luke for sermons. Coffee and rolls after church for fellowship. It is a small congregation and today's attendance was low, 24 adults, and 6 children.
This was part of the deal with my last pastor. Another member and I talked about how he never spoke to us, except from the pulpit. We never got a "Good Morning," or anything like that. My question, "How do you get to be an insider with him, or at last worthy of being greeted?" Friend told me he didn't think there were any insiders. I think there were, the people who had ministered with him in the streets with the homeless and addicted, long before a church was established and we came along. I always felt like an outsider. In my ten years there was no opportunity for bible study. Now I have two different sessions a week.I'm glad you have a preacher you really like. My church has a new pastor and I can't warm up to him. Here is another thing about the current pastor. A woman I know, from a completely different denomination, lost her husband and sought out several people for counseling. Evidently it is not easy for find someone who is good at counseling. She went to a couple services, and then did 3 counseling sessions with him. She said of all the people she sought out, he was absolutely the most helpful. His previous work was in church planting in Belize.I'm glad you have a preacher you really like. Yes, soap making forum. Been there, that's how I got here.I have not. It’s one of those to do things I’ve not tackled but it’s my 2022 must accomplish list. I’m making it top priority before we need to place a new order. Tired of buying it when I can make it. Another thing I’d like to be more self sufficient with.
I joined a soap making forum recently and wish I hadn’t. I know better than to stray from here. Once I get it worked out I’ll be happy to share details with you.
My old pastor was a fantastic counselor also. Even non church members sought him out. He was so vital to everything the church did...the new pastor is rarely in his office during the day. I don't think it's wrong for the pastor to not be as accessible or involved. It's just different. The old guy (Rick) had a way of getting you involved in everything with him and making it enjoyable to be involved. The new guy (Rob) doesn't say, we're smoking 500 pounds of pork out back and we need a hand wrapping it, come with me! And you'd drop everything and go do it and have fun doing it. I miss that...Here is another thing about the current pastor. A woman I know, from a completely different denomination, lost her husband and sought out several people for counseling. Yes. I don’t know that I’ll be back there.Yes, soap making forum. Been there, that's how I got here.
Some people have charisma and some do not. While I never thought I needed a charismatic pastor, I think there is something of a need for being able to speak to and welcome people in order to reach them. This church has many older members, in their 80's and even 90's. One of the guys, in his 60's said during the pastor search, that there was a need for a young person, with children. There are currently 8 children in the church. How do you grow a church with a bunch of older people who will all be gone in10 to 20 years? This pastor has been here for 1 1/2 years and the church membership has grown by 8%. I understand that it used to have a membership that was large enough for two Sunday services.My old pastor was a fantastic counselor also. Even non church members sought him out.
