Drive to town to deal with a responsibility.
Big Box store for a fire extinguisher for my vehicle.
Sister's to resolve (hopefully) another Internet problem.
If my timing is good go off my diet by stopping in for a burger.
Waiting for electrician to call me back reference my living room ceiling light project.

Still working on the house. It’s amazing how covering the walls really starts defining the space.

Sorry, I’m not familiar with posting photos. It keeps showing two of the same image, and that was not my intention. Maybe because I’m posting from my phone?

Yesterday I did a little tour and found the closest Sam’s to our new place - it was packed! About 1.5 hours away, so not too bad for monthly/quarterly trips.

I did enough yesterday to cover today.

Going to Benton today for best ribs ever , for late lunch.

I may , (that's a big may) install baseboard in big bathroom today, so I can get started on flooring in living room. I hate loose ends.
My moto "do a job , do it very well, then move to next job ".

Might wait till weekend , as they're calling for another snow storm Saturday.

Making a BIG pot of collards. Biggest stock pot we have filled to the brim, and that's after they've been wilted in hot oil first. I mix a little bacon grease in with either olive oil or peanut oil to use for wiltin.
After wilting, I cook them in balsamic vinegar, just an inch or so and stir them good so get the vinegar on all of them. I had to do more than one batch this time because I could not stir that much collards in one pot.
Then add water until it just barely reaches the top of the collards, and slow cook at 190°F overnight.
Fry a pound of bacon on low heat until it is completely rendered and crispy, even the fat should be crispy.
Drain grease off bacon and pat dry with paper towel. Bacon grease in the collards comes from wilting, not directly from the bacon, the bacon is the source of salt.
Break up bacon into small chunks and add to the collards.
Slow cook at 200°F for two hours.

Seeing everyone being so busy makes me feel like a slacker.

Tankgirl, it makes me sad that people wanted you to have Landshark put down just because she's got energy to burn & doesn't seem to know what to do with herself. It will take time & patience for her to learn to be calm and find other outlets for all that energy. Hopefully the new crate will work. She sounds like the kind of dog that needs a large space to run around in and have some sort of task to do other than chewing stuff up.

Cats and dogs kept me warm last night (and vice versa) but I couldn't move too much. Woke up feeling nauseous and having a stomach ache. My brother apparently had a bad stomach last night and Mom said she had a bad stomach this morning too. Might be a bug or maybe something we all ate. Probably those donuts. LOL. I was shopping while hungry the other day and got some junkfood I shouldn't have gotten. Oatmeal cream pies, snickers minis, etc. I need to pace myself on eating things and only eat them as a reward for accomplishing some menial task just to keep myself motivated. I have a lot to do but my guts are not cooperating. I can't really bend or strain too much until this stomach issue clears up. Could be a lot worse. Not feeling as bad now but I can still feel my guts are out of sorts. Got post-nasal drip still.

At the very least I need to sweep the hallway, wipe muddy cat paw prints off the counters, and do some laundry today. I should throw in litterbox cleaning as well if my guts cooperate.

On the upside, the Windows 10 version that came with my laptop has a calendar feature so I can mark events. Mom's eye doctor called to reschedule her appointment for morning instead of afternoon (in a couple of weeks) so I marked it down.

BTW,. I installed this for the wife yesterday ,took 10 minutes. She (and I ) love it.
For your info ....this thing is very well built , very strong, smooth ball bearing action, nice looking, and very functional.

She ordered 2 more.

Does that hold weight well when in the furthest slide out position? We could certainly use something like this - we find the pots in the back of our lower cabinets don't get used because we can't easily reach them. We actually have to sit on the floor to get to the back of the lower cabinet (which has a shelf in the very back). I could potentially remove that shelf and use one of these instead.

Finally had a good night sleep. Took my supplements this morning and feeling a bit at ease, so that is good. Outlets in the kitchen today. It takes longer than expected just wiring in the plugs when you have to keep moving stuff out of the way.

Bacon is sizzling in the pan, tea steeping in the mug, "Gone Fishing" on TV. When the movie is over I will get at it.

Ain't that the truth!

I have been planning out my work so that I only have to move 5hings a minimum number of times.

We have been working on getting the ceiling lighting fixtures installed and wired and installing insulation. We also have all of the decking material piled up in the attic.

We had to improvise because Lowe's didn't have any faced 24" insulation in stock. Strapping will hold the insulation until the drywall is installed. The place is starting to warm up a bit. Average temps have been around 20*.

I did get a shipment of lighting to be used under the cabinets and over the sink. Puck lights for under the cabinets and a 24" fixture for over the sink. All LED.

Tomorrow I will be setting up mouse traps (tis the season) and fixing the faucet for the kitchen sink. Will also investigate what is up with the hot water on the second side of the house. Could be nothing since we seldom use water on that side of the house or maybe a bad water heater.

Keeping busy

Ben,
Get some heavy plastic for your moisture barrier under that insulation. Tape the seams too. Moisture will wet that insulation and cause water problems and mold.

If affordable, instead of a plastic vapor barrier use foil. It still serves as a vapor barrier and will reflect heat back into the room.

Foil is better but it is also expensive. You still need to tape the seams.

Survived the shopping and the trip into the bigger town. Finished the put away, and hung three loads of laundry in the basement. Brought out all my lettuces, onions, arugula, and Kale to the porch for some sunshine. It's a nice 50 degrees out. Getting ready to scrub the Berkey filters and then make some cole slaw.

@Haertig , it is very sturdy, great slides, on ball bearings. Yes , it will support a lot of weight.
Our new pantry cabinet is 24" deep. How you gonna get to anything that ain't in the front? This is the answer.
4 screws to hold slide rails to bottom or shelf , easy peasy.

I've been watching Forged in Fire in my hotel room. An ad came on TV for a medicine to take care of some kind of problem men can get with their private parts where apparently things get bent or crooked. The ad said this medicine works in conjunction with "penile stretching" to fix the problem.

OMG is penile stretching really a thing? Does it really exist? I don't even want to know how that gets accomplished. Holy cow. I now have PTSD from watching a TV ad...

Walking home....the road is polished ice with a half inch of running water on it...couldn't make it up one section and had to push my subaru off the road...by pushing on it sideways. Felt like it was on casters.
