Man, I loathed Hughesnet. I still get enraged when I see their commercials or get spam from them in the mail.

They have some apps where you can say something into your phone and it will translate to whatever language you choose and a voice from the phone will say it out loud. Not sure if it would be heard over the bass though.

Fedex is still jerking us around. Now they are claiming the package will arrive by noon tomorrow-- but I've been through this before & it took 3 weeks to get my package. We can't even go pick up the package because you have to have an account with them. Tried to create an account but it requires physical address. Says our address is not valid so we can't create an account and thus we can't get it set up to pick it up from Lake Charles. But, I'm going to see if we can call them tomorrow and say if they can't find us and can't drop it off at our post office that maybe they can drop it at the Fedex place in Alexandria. Or even just pass it off to a driver that is familiar with the area. Alexandria might work out better because we planned to go there for my brother's birthday tomorrow.

I’d call the police EVERY time and stop wasting time asking the landowner and tenants.

Unfortunately these people have all the rights. They do nothing other than tell them there was a complaint. Been doing it for almost 4 years now with the same property just different creeps. Sometimes multiple times a day/night.

Normal chores, feed and water the critters. Not so cold today so I aired the tires on the garden cart. Got caught up with the kitchen inside. I can wreck a kitchen if I make chili or chinese.

My outer door has glass panels, they badly needed cleaning. The dogs push on the door from both sides. It was a pain but the worst is done. Now I can see clearly, the dog house...

I bought the pup a igloo dog house fall of 20. He wouldn’t sleep in it. He was 5 months old so he got to stay in the house on cold nights. When left outside in the spring of ‘21 he still wouldn’t sleep in his dog house despite it being right beside my door.

Instead he’d curl up right in front of my outer door, even if rain were blowing on the porch… This continued through all of ‘21. If I were moving around the house he’d watch through the glass.

I got him a new cushion this fall, still a no go. One day it occurred to me… What if I moved the dog house so he could see through the glass?

It worked! Now he sleeps in it every night. I put a red heat lamp pointed at the opening for cold nights (my old sheppard got one too).

Critters are funny sometimes, they usually tell ya what they need though. It just took me a while to figure out what he was sayin’.

Fun to watch your Funnyfarm, thanks!
Need to get Little granddaughter to school, and then get the animals done quickly and husband's breakfast, and then being driver for our neighbor Kathy. Her two month old son has his check up appt in the bigger town at 9, and then she needs to get groceries. First, we'll be dropping off her two girls at another friend's farm. The girls are two and five. That always surprises me that most of the ladies don't like to bring their little ones to town with them. I always had five in tow, but then we didn't have family nearby anyway, and most everybody worked during the day. So, I'll bring the old pickup and we'll have plenty of room to put kids, a baby, and groceries.

You are an awesome person my dear!!! You just set my day on the right track with your post!!💗😊

I drove through an active shooter incident. I'll go to the Army Navy surplus store another day.
Washington grocery store shooting leaves 1 dead, another injured, police say
That was unreal. My friend who I used to work with, her son got locked out of Richland HS right down the street. Evidently he went outside to get his lunch out of his car, and during that time the school went into lockdown and they wouldn’t let him back in the school.
Unbelievable. She went to raise hell yesterday, I’m still waiting to find out how that went.
Glad you’re safe.

I got home late last night after 6 days on shift.
Some days were busy and some not as much, but the ER always looked like a war zone with people bleeding in the hallways and coughing up lungs in the lobby (I’m exaggerating a bit but you get the idea).
So glad I didn’t go into emergency medicine.
My daughter finally got rid of this bad news kid from the neighboring town this week so I’m very happy about that. She is 19 and I try to let her be very independent but this guy was just not right and I put my foot down. My mom intuition was definitely correct.
Today I have an eye appointment, definitely need a new prescription. Other than that, will take it easy today. Maybe do some laundry and run later.
I joined a gym near the hospital so I can run after work and shower there (less emptying of the RV tank). Was able to keep off the weight I lost plus lose another 3 lbs with intermittent fasting and exercise. It was nice to just go exercise, shower there and go back to the RV and pass out, instead of go back to the RV, have a glass or two of wine and wake up feeling like crap.

There are laws against disturbing the peace. Telling the responding officer you want to press charges. If the officer doesn’t cooperate demand his/her shift supervisor on scene and move up the chain of command as necessary. Give them your written log of every violation with date and time. Give the Prosecutor the same violation log with the addition of every responding Officer’s name, badge number, date and time of their arrival.

Be polite but firm.

”In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’

4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”

I wish that worked. They are not willing to enforce any such laws. Even when a man over there spent 5 months threatening to harm me, burn my place down (all recorded on camera), breaking windows out of cars on the property while screaming and cussing at me last year nothing would be done. When they looked into him they warned me he was not someone to cross and to be very careful. Comforting. They said he had to physically be on my property causing me harm before they could do anything. Helpful considering they are 2 hours out at the least. If he wasn’t harming me they could ask him to leave or fine him for trespassing. 5 months of calling the sheriff multiple times a night just on him alone. Dozens of officers. Multiple watch commanders. No help. Lucky to actually get them to come out and tell him to stop. That only happened because i demanded some sort of contact when it was getting really bad. They ALL absolutely refused to do anything. Most didn’t even want to come tell him to stop. Even when he was screaming and cussing at me in the middle of the night while they were sitting in our driveway AFTER they told him to knock it off they said there was nothing they could do. They advised against a restraining order because of handing over my information to him and getting him more spun up and putting me more in danger.
Good times. Can’t wait to see what that property holds for us next. (Sarcasm)

Back home from our in the big town trip. Went to the docs for the little baby, and he's growing just fine. Went to Aldi and shopped. Neighbor insisted on taking me to Chic fil a for lunch since I don't like to be paid as a driver, so we had a lunch there. Then to Walmart. Then to pick up her other little ones, one of them I take to school two days a week. She asked me what I had for lunch, and she wasn't impressed over a salad. Ha. She had macaroni and cheese with hotdogs in it, and apple. I told her that sounded soooo yummy. It's a typical kids meal here. Then she turned and looked at her mama and asked her what she had for lunch. Chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and coke. Little Andrea said, "Hmpf". Had to laugh. Poor Andrea and little sister do not like dogs, and where they were visiting while we were shopping had four of them. All friendly, but big and excited. Reminded me of the Bumpes's dogs on the Christmas Story movie.

After much complaining to Fedex they FINALLY delivered our Starlink equipment. We temporarily have it set in the back of our pickup truck to keep it away from cows but omg its super fast. I just connected to it and this page loaded faster than ever before! We still need to mount it more permanently, but I'm so happy! The Fedex driver was not. She was super pissed. Glared at me when I said "Thank you" and glared at my brother when he waved at her. I had been threatening to report Fedex to the BBB.

The wifi adapter we just got for my brother works! It reaches where we put the modem. I hope it works for Mom too. I can't wait to test out some games on it. But I'm exhausted.

In a bit of sad news, Nightmeow, the sweet little one eyed kitty died last night. My friend said he started seizing and foaming at the mouth. :-(

I also found out that my brother's girlfriend in Japan died of an aneurism 2 months after he visited her in Japan. Last he heard from her they were discussing his next visit and then she ghosted him. Last year he finally got in touch with one of her co-workers who sent him her obituary and said she had a massive aneurism.

Stralink may be laggy for games. May still be better than your old stuff.

My old connection was super laggy in games. Would get over 1,000ms latency at times. I did a speedtest on the old one and got the highest speeds I've ever gotten on it and then compared it to Starlink.

HUGE difference.

HUGE difference.
Fair enough but there some aggregation of packets/messages used by Starlink.

Wranglerstar reviewed it about a year ago.
