My old connection was super laggy in games. Would get over 1,000ms latency at times. I did a speedtest on the old one and got the highest speeds I've ever gotten on it and then compared it to Starlink.

HUGE difference.
Holy cow! Your old signal is way better than ours. Hope your starlink numbers stay that good for you

Fun to see the homestead - I love your poultry coops/runs! I wish we had room for turkeys where we are.
Thank you. Making the video was fun. Transferring it from my iPhone to my old Windows 10 laptop was a slow pain. Piecing it together was not too difficult but then however the computer transfers is from the video editing program to the save it here file is VERY slow, and then after that long wait it takes almost as long to upload to Youtube. I know, I could buy all new stuff, but this will work for a while. One step at a time.

I got to drive like a cop in a cop car again today. It was kind of fun but the GMC Acadia doesn't handle or accelerate like a police package Chevy Tahoe. GF took her daughter to the new doctor office in the small town north of here, young lady issues and feeling run down and stuff for a while. Of course the daughter was nervous and the more the doctor and mom talked the more she began to stress and worry. She is 4'11 and barely 100 pounds at age 18. Add to that she was probably a couple pints low. Nurses couldn't get a vein to draw blood even after a few tries. Not feeling well, stress, worries, ..... then she passed out a couple times. GF's prior nursing and first responder training kicked in and she stepped in front of the nurses in the office to do way more than they were doing. Nothing against the nurses but it is probably very rare for them to experience such excitement from a young adult. Stabilized but she got an ambulance ride to the big hospital in the city. Ambulance crew couldn't even get an IV started. GF got out of the parking lot a few minutes ahead of the ambulance and made it 13 miles to our community a couple minutes ahead of the ambulance. I was at the corner waiting and jumped in the drivers seat to follow. I knew i wasn't gonna keep up the entire 30 mile drive but I did keep up until the first road construction area where they had the red light to limit traffic only one way or the other. The ambulance slowly went through the red light to continue but I waited until green, but I did walk up to the first couple cars in front of me and asked to go first to follow the ambulance and they let me by. Aside from one slow down in the one small town I had fun doing 80-ish on the wide open 2 lane highway, usually a 65mph zone. Drove careful through the city, just a bit over the speed limit but fortunately not much traffic. I obviously took a different route through the city because we had lost sight of the ambulance well before reaching town and we got to the ER only a few minutes after the ambulance and got back to the room the same time as the daughter did.
She is doing OK, they got a vein sticker specialist to establish an IV lock and gave her a couple pints and some IV's and a couple other meds and she is spending the night for observation. She should be released in the morning if all goes well and then she will go back to the original doctors office tomorrow when I go for my follow up appointment so he can see her again too. The doctor at the office is great but a tiny young adult being low on blood is something a family practitioner is not set up to handle.

Once they handed her off to the hospital staff I thanked all the paramedics on the ambulance. Told them I didn't break 1 law driving to town, said I broke about a dozen but did it carefully when no other traffic was around and that I enjoyed driving like a cop again. They laughed.

Spent the day at the hospital. Getting close to going home and checked my email and found out the gift card I ordered a week ago for my daughters birthday that was supposed to be delivered 2 days ago.... today they said they couldn't deliver and the order needed to be resubmitted or however it was worded. Great, my daughters birthday is tomorrow (Thursday) and she already barely wants anything to do with me and I have to come up with a solution NOW. Leave the hospital, go to the store, get a gift card and a birthday card and drive across town to hand her the card. Fortunately she goes to college here or I never would have been able to make that happen.

Aside from that, did pretty much nothing productive today. Gonna get a long hot shower and watch a few YouTube videos and get to sleep. Hopefully my favorite folk uploaded some new good videos, it's Wednesday so they should have.

I didn't get to the duck house I built and skipped the area and stuff I made for the horse. and the side yard and the garden areas and the trees and stuff. So, I have plenty more to cover outside of the house. I plan to make the big sign board next with a how to video on the process.
Until I get past final inspection on the house and get this big mess inside straitened out I wont show anything inside. But, I hope to entertain a bit while I share some of what I have learned along the way. I have a wide variety of projects to cover so hopefully I can interest everyone at least once in a while.

Been drained of my blood.
Just finished my IHOP sampler plate with my lovely bride.

Now we're off to do shopping , I'll be tagging along like a puppy on a leash🤭

Didn't sleep well last night, until about 5am or so, probably due to sitting around the hospital all day with the kiddo. Eventually fell asleep and was OUT until the alarm went off at 10am so I could go out and feed the horse. When I walked out Cinco wasn't calling for me so I think someone already fed him this morning but since I didn't know for sure I fed him again. He was happy. Tried to go back to bed but sleep wasn't happening. I am tired. My follow up doctor appointment is in 90 minutes. I suspect a slightly stronger dose of BP med, it has been helping and I have been feeling good but 150/90 or 100 is still a bit high.

It is supposed to be a nice sunny day here, about 60-ish. If I get some energy I will try to start working on painting up the Funny Farm Sign. I will video that progress and explain it step by step.

Been doing interviews today. We talked to 2, gonna hire both. One of them for me. YEEHAW.

Got 2 new projects in the past week I've got to figure out what we need and put together estimates for them. Pretty sure both will happen, just gotta show quotes to get the money to start purchasing.

Brought mom to the lab to do her pre appt bloodwork, and the doc never called it in. So we left and took her to lunch. Then home. She just called me and asked if I saw her today. Worried about her, it's pretty much time to get her moved to the medical side, and I'm not sure how that'll go over.

Sitting at DMV trying to get a replacement trailer plate for one of our trailers. Trying to avoid a “fix it” ticket because it’s worn looking 🙄
That reminds me. I have one trailer tag that hasn't been renewed for 25 years. And my gooseneck trailer has never been licensed. I'll have to get around to doing it some day.

Dispatcher kicked us off the tracks early again today. I wired in a new 8 port electrical distribution box on my machine after we got done, but it didn't fix the problem...now it's something for the mechanics to handle. A new LVDT wire and a new distribution box is about as much as my limited mechanical abilities can handle. The only other thing I can think of is to replace the hydraulic cylinder, but if the sensors inside the cylinder are bad, the cylinder should still work. It just won't tell the brain if the cylinder is extended or not. It probably won't matter in a couple weeks. I put my name in on a job back in my home district today and my seniority should be good enough to get it. It's a thousand a month pay cut, but I'll be home almost every night. I've just about had enough of hotels, airports, and truck stop food. I want to live a normal life again, see my kid every weekend, and sleep in my own bed...

Funny that you should mention this, here in Oregon I've been seeing many license plates that the sun is eating the plastic coloring off, leaving a flaking clear plastic coat that's gradually falling away and we're supposed to pay for replacing plates due to state made crap, jerks.

I understand what you're saying about being home most nights. I worked overseas for many years. Some of my hitches were up to 15 months long @ 7/12 hour days.

My schedule isn't quite that bad. It's 8, ten hour days on, and six days off. But with travel time it's really only 4 days off. I've been doing this for most of the past ten years. The last time I worked a regular M-F sched was for four months in 2014. I just need to recharge and be away from the road for a while.

Yep. $7 for a replacement plate and they won’t send a new pink to match it.
It’s ridiculous. Numbers/letters can still be read but my hubby got pulled over because one was “weathered”. Basically an excuse to pull him over but he was told to have it replaced. So this trailer I’m avoiding the issue down the line and just changing it out before it hits the road.

How many hours is it to the state line? Just don't use it til you move, and sneak across the line at night. Have Hubby drive real close behind you so the CHP won't see your plates. And then once you cross the line, park it for a minute, take a deep breath, and tell California to kiss your ass...

I traveled for20 years , motel every night, home on some weekends.
I burnt out.

So I know what you mean.
Good luck.

Tired today. Yesterday I went to work early to take trash to dump as husband decided to cover our pit. Ran to pay property taxes, worked 7:30 to 11:30 and ran to meet Vet at Exxon. She followed me to property, grabbed my boots and drove to stock pen. Cow refused to go into squeeze chute. Pipes behind her to block going backwards and haltered to chute. Exam, palapation, fecal sample, blood sample, breathing. Nothing outstanding. Due to snot in one side of nose, gave her antibiotic and will call me. Ran back to work 1:10- 4:30, home to feed all animals. Awake from 1:30-4:30. Work at 7:30 today and did motion and order to vacate a protective order. Efiled and copy to applicant by email. Vet called with results of elevated liver and blood work but nothing significant. I told her that husband saw her eating lots of yaupon. She said that causing liver issues. Watch her for week or until eating and drinking well. Bill $430.15. Ouch. Bank of America card. Prepared Agreed Protective Order for 2 years to go to District Judge at 1:30. Efiled and file, stamped copy to applicant. Left at 3:30 to come home to feed and go back to town to pick up grands from piano lessons. Played trivia while cooking bacon and eggs, ate and mom picked up, dishes are done, clothes in dryer and my big rear is in recliner. Clean lady’s house tomorrow and her daughter borrowing truck to get hay which I am fine with. How do people live without a truck? Sorry for long rant. That’s my past 2 days
