How many hours is it to the state line? Just don't use it til you move, and sneak across the line at night. Have Hubby drive real close behind you so the CHP won't see your plates. And then once you cross the line, park it for a minute, take a deep breath, and tell California to kiss your ass...

lol I can haul it over the line on the bigger flat bed if I wanted. Unfortunately it’s not looking promising at all at this point for us escaping so the goal of telling Cali to kiss our bums is just a dream

Vet followed me to property, grabbed my boots and drove to stock pen. Cow refused to go into squeeze chute.

Vet called with results of elevated liver and blood work but nothing significant. I told her that husband saw her eating lots of yaupon. She said that causing liver issues. Watch her for week or until eating and drinking well. Bill $430.15. Ouch.

Livestock... they can be so gentle and easy to handle... Until you need them to be gentle and easy to handle. Then they turn into a royal PIA from the deepest pits of Hell!

Glad you can get a vet to come out. We went through a 10yr span when no vet was available for farm calls in the area. I heard we have one now, since I no longer have a herd.

That's interesting about Yaupon. I read some about effects on humans, history, medicinal value. It's really not a "cow" issue for me. Until last fall I'd never seen Yaupon this far north. Acorns can be an issue for some cattle, thankfully not every year. And not all cattle, for certain cows acorns are like a heroin addiction. Might as well send them to the sale barn.

Hope @Grizzleyette___Adams see's this. She knows a lot more about yaupon than me.

Slowly catching up on outside chores today, now I'm watching tv.

NO !!!

I am looking forward to having you as a neighbor.

Do not give up.

it can happen.

Unless we tank our credit, blow our savings, file for bankruptcy, smoke crack and steal a place OR win the lottery and pay outright with no one else involved I don’t see that happening anymore. This whole experience has been a very hard lesson. Trust no one for help and certainly don’t follow all the rules.

@Double R
Is there anything I could do for y'all in KY?
I know lots of people.

Jim

You’re the best. I wish there was something you could do. I just told my hubby to look around at places there again and see if there’s anything that speaks to him. Just having someone to walk us through everything would go a long ways. But seems we can only deal with people in the locations we are thinking about (near 2500 miles away) but not knowing where exactly we will end up seems to be a huge problem.

We try to up feed when heavy acorn fall and minerals and range meal to balance ingestion of too many acorns. Actually for a 5 year old she has been good. Rub her from neck to tail pin on one side. Nope if I stand on other side. Just wish she would eat better. Her fecal looks like black mud and very little produced.

I'm off today, slept in... Need to run a couple of errands for the wife and then plan to get a hair cut (they may need a saws-all to cut this brush), then I plan to spend the day outside working on the garden, mostly cleaning off the beds and putting in new irrigation lines. I would like to put bungs in the bottom of 3 of my rain barrels but I think that will be pushing it....

Good luck with the hair! Hope you have a great day!😊

Getting some beans planted under the glass windows. Planning a menu for favorite cousin's birthday dinner tomorrow night. Ordered an ice cream cake from granddaughter's work for dessert, so there's that. Thinking ham and scalloped potatoes, have a ham in the freezer. Talked to sis last night, and she'll be talking with financial and availability to move mom over from her apartment to the other wing. Discussed help with her "stuff" when that happens and thankfully she's game to help. Thinking a small storage place, since I don't want to store her stuff. Maybe move stuff out of our guest room to be ready to paint the floor on Sunday/Monday. We have company coming in a week and a half.

Went to bed way early last night. I was exhausted due to the kids all day adventure at the doctors office and ER visit. She is OK, spent the night and came home yesterday, just tired and week but feeling better already this morning. Anyways, I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep so here I am.

If life behaves today I will tape and mud some drywall. GF is signed up for family medical leave due to her daughters issues and will be home this weekend and occasionally probably one week a month (with pay) due to the need for doctors appointments to keep tabs on the daughter and get her body and meds stabilized. Hoping to get some help out of the GF while she has her extra time off work.

Yesterday I videoed the first step in painting up the signboard for the homestead. My beard is getting long, about an inch or so. For fun I think I will trim my beard a bit shorter for each step of the process of painting the sign and when it is done I will use the clippers and get it to a fresh, clean stubble. I don't use a razer anymore so stubble is my version of clean shaven. The effect will be as time goes on through each step of the process my beard will get a little shorter, the opposite of a step by step where it should be getting longer. What can I say, I have a simple mind and think it will be amusing.

Supposed to be close to 60* today and sunny. Should be a good day. Although I am almost certain something will screw that up. =-)

Woke up at 6:30 this morning, have already done a load of wash. Made some breakfast (eggs and coffee). I'll down a cold protein shake here in a bit and then run. Yesterday I was able to run for 19 minutes straight without stopping (this is better than I was at in HS). Figured all these preps - need to work on my physical fitness too.
I need to plant my garlic. I was supposed to do that back in November.
Also have a bunch of paperwork and bills to get through today. Then more laundry. Eventually will make a loaf of my beer bread.

Electrician is coming at noon to finish up fixing the wiring in our house. I also need to go talk with the neighbors about getting off the road agreement since a new road is being built to our place - they are developing this 130 acres around me - and building 8 huge homes on 1 acre lots each. Gross, can't wait to move to our secluded acreage.

This weekend my daughter has a volleyball tournament in Central WA, so we will be traveling there on Saturday. She plays all day Sunday. I'm thankful that they finally don't have to play in masks. Last year, her junior HS year they had to play with masks on (which was totally stupid). I can't even imagine how she did that as she never left the court - and ran around the most as the setter.
Anyway, hope everyone has a great day.

Dispatcher kicked us off the tracks early again today. I wired in a new 8 port electrical distribution box on my machine after we got done, but it didn't fix the problem...now it's something for the mechanics to handle. A new LVDT wire and a new distribution box is about as much as my limited mechanical abilities can handle. The only other thing I can think of is to replace the hydraulic cylinder, but if the sensors inside the cylinder are bad, the cylinder should still work. It just won't tell the brain if the cylinder is extended or not. It probably won't matter in a couple weeks. I put my name in on a job back in my home district today and my seniority should be good enough to get it. It's a thousand a month pay cut, but I'll be home almost every night. I've just about had enough of hotels, airports, and truck stop food. I want to live a normal life again, see my kid every weekend, and sleep in my own bed...
Hope you get the job Spikedriver.

Who are you and what did you do with the real DrJenner? You all and your changing avatars! Just doing it to confuse me - I know, you can say 😂

@DrJenner , is that Avatar really you?
If so , your pretty.😊

Remember , my wife ordered another one of those side tables. Well it came yesterday. Guess what I been doing for 2 hours . Uuugghh.
666 screws , cams , bolts rollers , and table parts

Oh , btw , this one was for my recliner side table.
Now I can sit and look out the window , with a white table instead of a brown table.🤔 It matches hers.🙄

Now we gotta rush over to next town to meet HER friends for lunch.
Then when I get back , I gotta change the outlet behind the fridge from a 2 to a 4, so she can plug up more stuff. Yeah it's #12 wire , 20 amp breaker.

It never ends , the projects she comes up with.
But I love doing things for her.

Laundry is done for this week.
Groceries is bought for Dad.
He wants Scallions(seafood) for next week, Mustard greens, zingers(Raspberry)cakes.
And something called Armageddon pie and I have no kind of clue what that is.
Probably something he saw on the Internet.
Rode the exercise bike already this morning couple of times.
Will make lunch in a bit.
Would like something utterly fanstatic but no clue what that will be.
So probably beef, pepper stir fry instead.
