Mowed last pasture yesterday and finished today. First thing this morning I gathered all feed sacks to take to dump and went to feed store for lay pellets and cat food . Just washed my truck. All I lack mowing is dog pen which is 9/10 of an acre, with a pond. Don’t know if I can get tractor through gate without letting the 3 labs out. May wait til tomorrow after church and make husband help as they are his dogs. His old dog Hank passed Monday.
Sorry about Hank!! Good to see you around here!!

I have to get my front yard / wasteland trimmed so I'm going to have to dose myself up on painkillers and get'er done!

I've had a bad knee for years that surgery only aggravated and up til now it's been pretty quiet, and now it has decided, on the eve of a global economic collapse to start screaming causing me to dip into my precious painkiller stocks.
This has ramifications in regards to the coming horror that is unfolding in being able to garden, hunt and fish, and forage effectively.
I still have my post op brace in storage that has locking dials that lock the knee joint into a set range of movement.
Also the padding and the velcro are high above and below the knee itself so the brace is supporting without touching or crushing the knee.

I'm pretty sure I racked it while wrangling Landshark when the crackhead next door was having their bad trip.
The knee was ok before that happened so that's the only conclusion I can come up with.
Everyone was tense and over adrenalized that night and it would have been easy to brush off an injury until the situation settled down.

I haven't seen hide nor hair of the crackhead since Friday morning.
There have been no paramedics or police attending the residence so I'm torn between two camps.
First is human concern he's ok.
And second hoping he's not ok and his cat is eating his face off....which is horrible and I have to ask the Lord Almighty to forgive me and to bless the crackhead Abundantly.
Enjoy the break!! Maybe the Good Lord has dealt with him!!

Let's put this situation this way. After a binge of crack or meth it is not uncommon for them to sleep it off for several days. On top of that, if he has made no effort to be friends or neighborly you have no obligation to be concerned. If for some reason you are concerned in a week or two you might contact the police for a welfare check, or if you start seeing a bunch of flies on the windows. He is not your responsibility.

I am trying my best to restrict purchases to things we need unless it can fit my short list. So I ended up buying a second desk for the school room just like the one I have for Roo. It is a folding desk so when it is not in use it can be folded and put in a closet. I have been wanting a second one so When we move and the girls go back to separate bedrooms (it saves money for them to share during the summer because we are only running one a/c rather than 2) they can have a desk in their rooms.

I also ended getting myself a garlic rocker. I use to have a garlic zoom but the darn thing was too hard to clean. So the rocker was a no-brainer! Stainless steel, all one piece and into the dishwasher it can go.

I have been drafting up how I am going to build the rabbit travel cages. I have all the materials but I don't want to mess up the wire by measuring wrong. That sh*t is expensive! I figure making 6 should give me an extra in case we end up with a 6th rabbit before the move. Knowing me I'll end up keeping one of our grow outs again. I have cage space I just don't have a hutch for a 6th. Looking to get a few wire cages for grow outs so they aren't crowded in the cages I have.

The plan for this weekend is to get back in the garage tomorrow and finish the cleaning/purging out there. I think K is planning on getting everything out of the loft so we can go through it all. I am sure we have a lot of junk up there we can get rid of.

Working in our garage this afternoon, too. About 1/3 of the way cleaned out. Had it cleaned out last year, and it houses most of our tools, but the twins have made a huge mess in there. Thinking of cleaning it out and padlocking it when I'm finished.
Do it!

We took a day off and took a road trip up I-81 to our favorite Amish Store. Picked up a few items for storage and a few things for my 2nd cousin's baby shower. It's her first and 1st great grand child for my aunt and uncle.
We also stopped by a TSC in that area and got a few items we needed. Then stopped at Bass Pro on our way home. I got me a new rod and reel with gift cards I've gotten at work over the last 2 years for being safe.. Also got a box of 30-30 ammo, which I have not seen over the last 2 + years.
Got back home and watching UT play florida (recorded on the DVR).
On the down side my shoulder is killing me still. I was hoping I had just irritated it. But now think I've messed something up. Gonna try and get an appointment with my wife shoulder doc Monday and see what I've done. This is not a good time to have something wrong. But If I have made a mess of something I want to fix it ASAP and try to get it rehabbed ASAP

Had a real lazy Saturday. Attended a 7 and 8 year old's soccer game, had A&W for lunch per my daughter's request, went up to visit mom at the nursing home and played a cut throat game of Jokers and Pegs with her and Pops. Then we took Pops to dinner and ran into my brother and his wife at the restaurant, along the elderly owners of a 200 acre farm he rents. After dinner, daughter and I hit the big Walmart in Ames and I bought my lunch food for the upcoming work week. Now we're home, getting settled in, playing on our phones and watching ridiculous conspiracy stuff on TV...

Sorry to hear your back is hurting again, Magus. I found Robot or human? helps. I'm using one right now. Found it adjacent to the pharmacy area.

Pearl, I hope you enjoyed your pool time and got a good nap. I miss having a pool. I practically lived in our pool during summers in California.

Magpie, sounds like you were productive. I'm sure fresh pastures were welcomed. Ooh, what kind of windows did you put in the barn?

Wingnut, I imagine bike riding on uneven terrain is pretty rough. I never fully mastered the art of bike-riding. Always lost my balance and the pedals would chew up my legs.

Hooch, sorry they didn't tell you the info right away. At least you got a lot done. I hope you had a restful evening afterwrd.

txcatlady, sorry to hear about Hank passing. I need to figure out how to get my yard mowed. Push-mower won't cut it (pun intended). Not sure if a riding mower would even work at this point. I need to find one of those battery powered trimmers with metal cutters instead of the wire. I know I mentioned that before. Heard the heads can change out so I might buy a wire one and then get the metal part.

UrbanHunter, sucks when you run out of materials. I've been there. Hopefully you can get the missing pieces and finish it up without incident. I'm hoping to see pictures.

Tank-Girl, is glucosomine with controiden and MSM available in your area? It helped with Mom's knees. I've had feelings like that about my neighbors.

INresponse, I agree. If the crackhead ODed then it's up to any family or the authorities to determine. Hopefully the bloke will get clean and start acting decently though.

Grimm, I'm not familiar with garlic rockers and garlic zooms. I'm guessing it has to do with crushing garlic? If you have specific dimensions and layout in mind for the rabbit hutch, let me know. I can plug stuff in to Sketchup and do mockups. I wish I had pictures of the hutches my dad built. I might have his sketches of it somewhere but not sure where.

Amish Heart, padlocking after cleaning sounds like a good idea.

Magus, I hope you wake up with your back feeling better. I think I sent you the link to the massage/heating pad I found that is working nicely for me.

Backpacker, I hope there is nothing majorly wrong with your shoulder and that it will heal quickly. I borked mine awhile back and it took months to heal. Had my rotator cuff and deltoid all messed up and it sucked so I feel you on this one. Alternating heat and cold might help.

Spikedriver, sounds like you had a fun day! I'm glad to hear it.

I slept in, got up and did some mild cleaning, picked up a backup drive for Mom's laptop from the store and popped in to see my friend so he could transfer the data and remove anything she wouldn't want the techs to see (like financial stuff) when the laptop is sent in for repair. Still feeling tired. I cooked pork chops but couldn't eat all of them so I gave one to my brother. Not sure if he ate it before he left so I'm about to go check.

Just had total brainfreeze.

Thanks Zanni. I've been doing ice and heat since Thursday and taking it easy on it. Plus a couple of painkillers and too many ibuprofen since then. Hope int improves by Monday. But nothing yet. I'm worried about it going on too long if there is something wrong. I'd rather get it repaired and start therapy it there is something more than a muscle strain. I'm worried about a Rotator cuff tear. Wife has been thru that and it takes a while to get over it. I'm afraid time is something in short supply in todays world.

Magus, that sounds like something I would do. I get stuff and then misplace it immediately. Can't find it until I no longer need it.

Backpacker, be careful with Ibuprofen. I took it for years but it was detrimental to my health. Got switched to 500mg of Naproxyn (requires prescription to get that strength though). But everyone reacts differently to painkillers. A 250mg naproxyn takes care of my friend's pain. Mom takes 400Mg when she has pain. My friend can take a low dose narco and be flying. I can take Vicoden and nothing happens. I get more relief from a chocolate bar because it at least tastes good. LOL. My father was the same way. Family has a high resistance to anything for numbing and pain. They have to give me extra numbing stuff and wait longer at the dentist. They also have to use a different numbing agent bc I'm allergic to their standard stuff. I truly hope its not a rotator cuff tear you have. My uncle had one and got surgery. Was recovering and fell and re-injured it and had to get surgery again. He's still having pain months afterward.

I'm glad I didn't misplace my heating pad thingy because I've got it running right now and have been moving it up and down my back. It's just above my lumbar right now.

Woke up way too early today- 3:15 am. I think that's last night.
Will set up my vitamins for the month first.
Church next.
Walk dogs.
Inventory dried beans and put anything needed on list for Thursday.
Harvest eggplants and pull up plants.
Water garden.
Quiet day.

Quiet morning, nice & cool with some cloud cover and a slight chance of rain later, so no hurry to get out and water... I'm still gonna water in case it doesn't rain, but there's no rush to beat the blazing sun. Sippin' herbal tea and watching 'The Three Amigos' run around like crazy fools... easy day ahead, I've done enough lately to take a break & chill out for a day, I'm sure the blasted goatheads will still be around tomorrow, lol. ;)

About that crackhead Tank-Girl mentioned, my only concern would be for any animals which might be stuck in the dwelling if the crackhead actually OD'd. Otherwise, it sounds like good riddance... I couldn't live near some jackhole like that, not without conflict or an actual beatdown, and I don't need any cops knocking on my door. That's why I live in the boondocks, it's so much more peaceful here. Gotta love the country!

Edit: Here's a shot of my tea mug (or one of 'em, anyway, I have a collection), this mug was a gift from my brother who served over two decades in the USA Combat Engineers. I like the castle! Best of all, not a crackhead in sight, lol. :)

@Pearl If you can easily get the door open, why not? I'd open it to save the trouble of rescheduling and making time to come back.

Quiet day, still catching up on some badly needed rest. It rained early this morning so the woods will be a mess. Might do some plant scouting later if the sky clears. I'm 2 months behind in scouting my new hunting area. There are a couple of churches I want to check.

100+ years ago medicine plants were sometimes sown around chuches so everyone had access. All these years later I still find these unnatural concentrations of medicinal plants.

Well, I fell on the road while walking Oreo. I'm short so didn't have far to go. Scraped one knee pretty good and might have bruised ribs on my left side. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. Been walking most every day for about 4 and a half years and the roads and sidewalks are in bad shape
Picked okra, peppers and figs. Eggplants will wait a couple of days as will bean inventory--too hot until Tuesday or after.
A mini break today!

Picking the last of my kidney and great northern beans. They are very dry, just about to the point of shattering. Should finish drying out quickly once shelled. I got 6 half gallon wide mouth mason jars yesterday, gonna start storing dry beans in them and vacuum sealing them.
Swapped batteries in my varmint repellents I have on car and truck. Squirrels like to eat on my fuel lines.
Gotta pick peppers and okra tonight. And will mow part of the yard.

Glad you didn't get hurt worse!! You'll feel it more in a day or two!☹️♥️ Take care of yourself!!

Falls are bad news, Snappy. I hope it won't feel too bad tomorrow.
Morning chores, started back in on the garage. Trying to light a fire under little granddaughter...to clean her room. Wasn't happening, so no tv for her this evening. Back to the garage work. Favorite cousin broke out in shingles, poor lady. She's miserable and taking it easy.

I didn't do anything yesterday but rest and take a nap. My body was just tired so I listened. I did run a couple errands in the neighborhood first, dropping off eggs to folks who wanted to buy so the day wasn't a total waste. Today I have a 90 minute massage appointment at 2pm. Nothing hurts, just need some attention to loosen things up again. Afterwards I will sort out the 300 Tshirts I got from a guy in the neighborhood and then figure out a couple good prints to go on the big supply of black shirts. At least winter is coming so black shirts wont be too hot to wear in the sun around here. Being black shirts they should look good with a distressed print. I created a distress look that is twigs from a willow tree scattered through the print. I think it should look good.

Hit the mountains this am. I was hoping to find bullets or chicken of the woods after a good rain we had last weekend but it's still super dry up there..me n the dog had a good hike though.
I'm Back home now n the rest if the day will be chores n relaxing.

We had a great day at the festival, sold most of our meat we took. Didn't drive my truck, it now runs bad as soon as I start it. So I will just wait until l can drive it to the repair shop in a week

Raining this afternoon so I am not doing much. We worked all day yesterday from 6 AM until about 7 last night. We had so many customers at the festival we didn't have time for a break and had to take turns to eat something.
The couple next to us sold sausages and burgers and the line never ended. They were just as busy. Overall the festival was a great success

I just kept going for a while today. Hope to feel less stove up tomorrow.

Watching "Lou" on Netflix.
