I like Friday the 13th. We were married on a "13th", so I consider it lucky. Next month will be 35 years.
Need to throw some clothes on and get in to work in about 45 minutes. Need to feed animals real quick. I guess lucky I live a mile from the school. Baby silkies are hatching. Two little peepers looking at me out the incubator window. Son is around, so he'll get them set up this afternoon...I have long hours today and Monday. Takeout tonight, as I'll be exhausted by the time I get home. Last round of granny Smith apples went into the dehydrator last night. I filled 3 #10 jars full of apple chips. They were on sale for 50 cents a lb. Next, Roma tomatoes. They were the same price. I need to go shopping to get littlest granddaughter some clothes tomorrow. She came to visit with very little, and what she has is on the small side. Her mom in California has money issues. Hopefully I can find some sales tomorrow, and get a few things that she can wear to school when she starts 2nd grade. She's a quiet little child, used to playing indoors on her own. Even turned down the tire swing!

Very little going on lately for me. Started eating healthier a few days ago and my body doesn't seem happy about it, but I'm ok. Going to town with dh today for thrift shop shopping and to mess around. It's so hot at this time that we just stay in the house and do eBay listings. I like Fall, Winter and Spring, but Summer is too much these days.

my dad passed away thus morning. i haven't seen hom in 25 years, his choice. he remarried and raised her 2 children as his own and forgot about us. i feel the man my dad was died 25 years ago because that man would have never have left any of us. he has 6 biological children. i am fighting an inner battle with my feelings toward him now. at least he is in no pain, yet he left a lot of it.

Sorry Timmie, my kids went through the same thing. But thank goodness they had their to make up for it but it is still painful to think your father doesn't care.
He never was a part of their lives. He just passed away this year. Not a one of my kids went to his funeral.

i didn't make it to the funeral as it was today and i just got hubby out of the hospital and home. doc says he fixed his heart. time will tell if that is what caused him not to be able to lift his arms above his head and other issues. for now he is glad to be home.

Timmie, The living are a more immediate concern than the dead. After all the dead have no need of our support. If the family doesn't understand that your husband is a more immediate concern then they need more help than you can offer. Get that man back to healthy and remind him that he can do anything he sets his mind to.

Today I am taking time to recover from all the physical work I have been doing for the last week. I want to be in top shape for my silhouette competition on Saturday morning. It can be grueling on my back so I need to be rested if I want to perform well. (well for me not necessarily competitively with the other shooters.)

yes i very much want his health restored but i think at least some of of it is the old age factor.believe me he hasn't lost the ability to be a smart a--. hubby is a very smart man but a bigger smarta--,but i wouldn't have it any other way. right now he is resting comfortably. lol

Good fortune to ya timmie..and i hope that things get better for both of you..

Today i got 2 aloe vera plants and 2 boxes of band aids at wal-mart..in which I've been needing both, since i touche 2 finger tips on a extremely hot muffler of a hand held leaf blower..i had gotten a aloe vera pad from someone. And had some band-aids .but thier getting used up.i also got 2 more reading glasses.car has a full tank of gas now..

hubby ,daughter, amd i just woke up from nap as none of us slept to well last night. hubby says he feels a lot better just being home. one of his sisters got in yesterday from texas and she and his brother want to get together as they are in their 80's and not in good health. so he told me to tell them if he felt like it tomorrow he would get me to drive him out there. i know i have to get out because i have got to check on my mother and stepdad, plus i have to pick up his medicine, and pay a couple of bills.

Found canning tomatoes for $1 a lb and bought 20 lbs. They are prepped and stewing. I'll put them in the freezer. Made fig preserves and they are sealing in their jars. Canning 25 lbs of peaches tomorrow $1 lb! I'm too tired to do peaches tonight.

That's a lot of peaches to can! I hate prepping them but love the results! I don't have a Big Lots anywhere near me so I think I will see if they sell lids online.

I've been playing the "war planet online" game and set my 2 minnow traps. I've already caught about 50 2-3" minnows and a dozen baby bluegill and spoiling my ducks ;)

I need those to use for bait! (Minnows and bluegills, not the spoiled ducks. Lol)

Went shopping for granddaughter's clothes this morning, and went without her. Happily she liked everything I bought. I stuck with jeans, purple and pink things. Rainbows, hearts, unicorns are a plus in her opinion. She'll be seven next month. She is doing pretty well, and she flies back home next Saturday. Two of her half brothers will be over tomorrow for supper so we'll have a houseful. We packed a picnic this afternoon and went to the park with her and the twins and our youngest daughter. The park also had a water area with sprayers, so they had a great time even in the heat. Then to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. So, not many chores done today, but am wiped out. 13 yr old granddaughter just went to a slumber party, so she'll be a "no sleep" mess tomorrow. Taking more apples out of the dehydrator, and I have 20 lbs of tomatoes to do. Baby silkie #8 just hatched...so tiny, so cute.

we got 3 gallons of maters ready to do in the morning. i just didn't have time for more prep work. we went to check on mother and step-dad and got a nice surprise, hank williams's great grandson was at mother's and he sang to us. he is also my cousin. his real name is ricky fitzgerald but he is hank's great grandson. although i am related to ricky i am no relation to hank. anyway we really enjoyed the visit and the music. then we went to see hubby's brother and sil. also enjoyed that visit , but it has put me behind on my canning. oh well i'll just work extra hard on it tomorrow.

Good Morning!!!!
I have a house to clean, granddaughter to pick up from her no sleep slumber party, 5 gallon water jugs to fill up at the corner store, and dinner to make for 15, with grandkids showing up late afternoon. We had a huge rainstorm last night, so feeling the humidity this morning where we usually don't have any.

Also GOOD MORNING TO ALL. It is a beautiful morning.:great::woo hoo:
Yep it is. Today is my first day @ work for a living in a long time. Time to come out of retirement and get on with life!
Y'all have a great day.

@Double R , things haven't been the same around here without you!

Picked some things from the garden. Made breakfast. Have some of my laundry to do today and I have to fold some from friday ( yikes I know lol). Have to figure out what to make for supper.

I have a large zucchini I picked and I plan on halving it and cleaning out the seeds and then stuffing it with broccoli tossed with garlic and olive oil and then melting cheese over top once they bake. Those I'll have for lunch this week. I know hubby won't eat them lol

It is just nasty hot and humid this morning. Heat index is calling for it to 100. ugh. well it IS july lol

West Virginia is the first and only place I ever saw " mountain oysters on a menu and that ain't no lie. We were somewhere in the mountains traveling thru.
In Georgia we had pickled pigs feet and pig ears, pork brains and eggs. Child abuse!!:ghostly: Soon as I learned to read that trick was over.
