I sat in my truck and stared at the two eighteen wheelers...one was loaded with huge square bales of hay....the other was loaded with round bales of hay....so beautiful....what a site....remembering I had just talked to our friend we buy hay from every year, to hear, "We just could not grow it without the rain.....no hay this year"......glad that steer loves his cubes...LOL

Picked some things from the garden. Made breakfast. Have some of my laundry to do today and I have to fold some from friday ( yikes I know lol). Have to figure out what to make for supper.

I have a large zucchini I picked and I plan on halving it and cleaning out the seeds and then stuffing it with broccoli tossed with garlic and olive oil and then melting cheese over top once they bake. Those I'll have for lunch this week. I know hubby won't eat them lol

It is just nasty hot and humid this morning. Heat index is calling for it to 100. ugh. well it IS july lol
It's definitely a hot summer. 108 yesterday with heat index. Only 107 today.

Yep it is. Today is my first day @ work for a living in a long time. Time to come out of retirement and get on with life!
Y'all have a great day.

@Double R , things haven't been the same around here without you!

Have a great first day back to work @gumpy!
Thank you Gumpy! Your way to sweet to me! That means a lot :huggs:

Good Morning!!!!
I have a house to clean, granddaughter to pick up from her no sleep slumber party, 5 gallon water jugs to fill up at the corner store, and dinner to make for 15, with grandkids showing up late afternoon. We had a huge rainstorm last night, so feeling the humidity this morning where we usually don't have any.

The rain is wonderful, the humidity... We are up to almost 6" for the year now. :woo hoo:

Started off the morning with DH washing the dishes and cleaning the benches and myself drying them and putting them away. Out into the garden where we weeded 3 x 9 mt garden beds and picked up bark from the side of the house and wood chips from around where we have the firewood stacked under the house. I put the bark in the bin and put the wood chips up on the veranda ready for the BBQ smoker next time we are using it.

Inside again where we separated the dried English lavender blossoms giving us 37 g more to sell.

Tonight's dinner was sausages, eggs and fried tomatoes from the gardens along with rehydrated onions also fried.

Fired is good now and then. Last week I had fried onion rings for breakfast, lunch and supper for 2 days plus snacked on them all day. Cruncey batter of 3 ingredient's 'butter, flour and water only' very good. Hubby had regular meals. Kneaded in the butter.

Oh my goodness lots of typos on this one. FIXED IT!

Strawberry was to go to YS(youngest son) while I was in hospital.
His Austrialian Herding shepard bit her, 4 stitches internal and 4 external stitches. She stayed with OS(oldest son) at my apartment.
I got home from hospital on Sunday about 1530 hours, wore slick.
Mom and dad brought home cooked meals for the first day or two.
Absolutely exhausted.
Pain medicine puts me out like a light.
Just starting PT tomorrow.
Too hot to eat.
It's all I can do to walk across LR with walker.
They take stitches and staples out internal and external ones out on 17th Of July.
Off to take nap for medicine 375 mg Aspririn for blood clots.
My luck PT will be pain and Torture.

Hope things are going better for you . Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Just got conformation for August 9th cardiologist appointment, last night the neighbor on our east side called to say that a heard of elk had come down to his orchard to feast on the leaves and apples of a fallen tree the wind blew down, five youngsters and about six cows, bulls were probably up in the woods. This herd of elk came over to this side of the creek after the 2013 forest fire. We were shipped a toilet that ended up the wrong color, new almond colored one is on the way and they don't want the white one back, they don't think it will survive the shipping and I agree, as it is the packing didn't hold the toilet we got and the water closet lid was floating around inside the box, it's lucky it didn't break, I told them that they needed to get better packing, I just hope the one coming will be okay. The quality of things done just isn't what it used to be and it seems that no one really cares anymore, sad.

It is a new world and your right, hard to find a good product today. Good luck on the dr. apt..

The car is still broken down.

I'm just disgusted with it so it can stay there until I get my head in the right place to deal with it
and commit the resources to getting it towed to the shop and get it fixed.

Life goes on and it does high light a HUGE gaping hole in my preps.
Everything I do is centred around having a car at my immediate disposal.
I don't even have a bicycle.
I didn't know my bus routes or how much they cost or where they go.
It's immediately apparent I won't be able to get my gas bottles filled for my
stove.
Taxi's don't allow you to carry gas bottles.
Buses don't allow you to carry gas bottles.
Even if I had a bicycle it's outside the range of comfortable biking distance to the nearest filling location.
So....no gas bottle refills.
A tankless water heater would now be rendered useless and so is my gas stove when the
the last cylinder is empty.
I'm going to have to suck it up and buy a little butane cartridge stove and make my
peace with buying butane cartridges and the empty ones going into land fill.
There is only one grocery store that stocks them and will deliver them as part of a online delivery order.
They happen to be the most expensive grocery store to buy from on-line.
There's no point having angst about it because it changes nothing.

I discovered a feed store 35 mins drive away that will deliver
for a fee of $10 regardless of how big the load is.
They also sell a huge range of fencing, and fertilisers and poultry.
I made make an on-line account with the business and I pay for the goods and delivery on-line so the transactions are easily done.
Pretty good considering I have a feed store less than 4 kms away and they won't deliver
at all and I've been buying there for the last 6 years.
I think that makes the choice pretty clear.

Well, Tank Girl, you are making lemonade out of the lemons life is throwing at you. You are finding alternatives, even though they aren't great. I hope things get better.
Our oven malfunctioned as we were having dinner. I had the broiler on, turned it off. We sat down to eat. Flames going on in the oven, alarm going off. The whole thing blew. Fire extinguishers make a huge mess in the whole house when used. I'll have a lot of clean up work to do, and did get the general area cleaned up, but have another 10 hr shift starting at 6 tomorrow. Husband doesn't move very fast and is lung impaired, so I kicked him outside to breathe. Got the breaker switch turned off for the oven. When it rains, it pours. Septic pump failed, but a new one was put in today. I guess it's dutch oven cooking outside for awhile! Or solar oven, or portable burner, or barbeque. Thank goodness there's options.

Praise be for options and redundancy and being a good adaptor.
If you bend to a situation you don't break.

Started off the morning with relaxing in front of the fire. In the morning we washed and froze the cherry tomatoes on a tray we picked from the gardens and are about to put in freezer bags for advanced food stocks. Then we separated French lavender we had dried from the gardens making 24 g in total.

Out into the gardens where we harvested the rest of our French and English lavender and then I got a loaf of bread on in the bread making machine. Then out to visit a friend with another friend for visiting teaching and she is doing well. While I was away DH put on a load of washing in the washing machine and hung it on the clothes line.

Just about to hang up the lavender on curtain rails in the hallway to dry and package up the tomatoes in freezer bags for the freezer.

Serious house cleaning and laundry, day for me today.stripped my bed n pillow's. Comforter is in the wash 1st.seeing how it needs to hung out to dry.got tired of putting off reorganizing my 1st aid supplies. So that, and reorganizing my sewing kits will get redone as well.got a lil bit of sewing to do on 3 pairs of jeans as well.

We got rain yesterday evening which we really needed and should get more today! I am doing laundry now and will be making a salad later to take to our Sunday School get together tonight. It is supposed to be in the upper 80's today, so much better, although it is supposed to hit 97 on Saturday.

I had an AWESOME DAY!!!

Praise the Lord GOD Almighty!

I got a feeling in my Spirit to check a web-site that listed the LPG tank refill costs for various businesses and I saw a business listed I didn't know and their prices were good.
All the other places that do LPG refills I know don't deliver...so....
I rang them to ask if they'd pick up my bottle, refill it and bring it back and how much that service, if available would cost with a mind
to do something about next pension day because atm I'm stone motherless broke!

Well, They picked up my 9 kg bottle, refilled it and brought it back for me!
1- They didn't charge me a cent in pick up or drop off delivery charges.
2- I can pay them for the refill Friday next week when I get my pension!

I can't believe the generosity of these people who own the business!

Then I jumped in the car after another feeling in my Spirit and my car started first go!

With tears streaming down my face I went inside and got on my knees and gave praise to the Almighty
for having his hand on me.

I went out this morning and again the car started first go!

All Praise and Honour belongs to Him.

AMEN!!
