Thanks, Amish. She's doing OK but is sore from the fall. I'm going to try to schedule her an appointment with the doctor asap. I know someone mentioned before what code or something to say to Medicare to get it to cover something, but I don't remember what it was. I think since the G7 is newer and is covered by Medicare under the right circumstances I will see if she can get that one. The diabetes specialist at the office will have to show her how to use it I think.

I rested and then went to meet my friend to put gas in his car. He's *still* waiting to get paid by his now former employer. He did the data transfer from Mom's old phone to new phone. I just need to find her e-mail and password info from her to setup her google play thing and get her games working.

I moved the wall panels around in the bathroom so they aren't in the way and added a few more staples to the L-bead trim in spots that were loose.

This super bloom thing is going to be the death of me! I worked with Roo to get the rabbit chores done then helped K and the girls to wash the cars. All of them. Being outdoors for that long caused swelling, tearing, sneezing and runny nose. Now I need the pills to kick in. Yucky!

Got a new battery for the audi. I will get it registered then listed for sale. If I can get half of what I paid for it I would be fine with that. Lots of little things I could do to up the value and make it more sellable.

Pills kick in, darn it!!!

About to take the animals out, we finally combined the momma and baby goats and the 1 year olds. We only put the latest one with the 4 kids and the milk goat in their stall and left everything else open so they get used to each other again ( the 1 year olds are kids of the current moms mostly) . It's funny to watch. At first the 1 year olds want to hang out with their moms again, and try to headbutt the babies out of the way, but the mom's don't let them of course. But after a day or 2 you see all of them sit together and chew or sleep. Goats definitely have a family structure
Goats that are not related ( the milk goat is different) are on their own, or team up with other goats that don't have relatives

Not much else planned today. I think I need to go to the Amish store and buy flour

So, the very first thing I saw this morning when I hit the master bathroom was a glaring 'holiday' or two where the Behr topcoat missed the Kilz2, lol. Guess I didn't see 'em in the afternoon light yesterday. Meh, no worries, the rest of the bathroom looks great and I'll be taking a break from painting today... all the reaching, stooping & bending has caught up with me and my back is a bit sore. So it's light duty today, nothing but watering and routine household chores. I'll pick up those holidays on my next painting day, probably hit 'em first before I tackle the smaller bathroom. 😒

I only had one tall glass of that busthead cider last night, then I macked a burrito plate and promptly crashed... I was exhausted, and that cider helped me sleep so deeply, I was really catching some solid ZZZs. I woke in the early hours and noticed Black Diamond on her favorite nearby table, but now she is MIA... dunno if she went back out in the wee hours, but there's no sign of her. I sure hope she's okay, because she doesn't usually miss breakfast. I'll give her a little more time to appear, then I'll call the shelter just in case she somehow got picked up (seems unlikely in the early hours). 😕

Got my small job done, mowed and did a load of Hubby's work clothes. Nice bright sunny day to hang them on the line. Bright sunny humid day, not so nice while push mowing! Fast shower then I'm heading for the pool deck to unfasten the steps! Clean steps and vac the pool! Then a refreshing 🍺 break on the float!!

@Wingnut that is ridiculous that animal control picks up cats. Cats are free! Hopefully she's just out taking a long nap somewhere. Have you thought about locking kitty doors at night? Our cat is an inside cat. I never wanted to see her mangled on the road. This is a land of cat haters in big trucks and they would intentionally speed up to do it. I've seen it nearly happen too many times, if the cat hadn't been paying attention...
I also need to finish painting my bathroom, unfortunately it has been too long since I worked on it.

Let us know when you find her!

Yeah, I'm a bit worried, since it's not like her to miss breakfast...

I do try to lock down the cats at night, but it's not always possible... if one cat is still outside, I can't lock it out, as it may need the sanctuary of this home. And I fell asleep pronto last night, I was so tired, thus the cat doors were not secured. 😒

If anyone wants to come paint my kitchen please do!!

I finished all of the planting out just in time to start weeding. I take a break from that to finish off my efforts to prevent the mailbox from being hit AGAIN. In addition to the reflectors I mounted the custom sign that was delivered today.

Wingnut, I hope Black Diamond turns up safe and healthy.

Pearl, if I lived near you I'd come paint.

Amish, Yikes. Allergic reactions suck. I hope the new meds work and hubby will get feeling better.

Ben, nice mailbox and sign!

Patchouli, sometimes well-meaning people or even not-so-well-meaning people will pick up stray or pet cats and take them to a shelter. My uncle's wife used to pick up cats off the side of the road and not care if they were strays or pets and she'd take them to the vet and want them to be put down. Claimed she was saving them from suffering or something. Not sure what her major malfunction is. I think she just wanted the control-- plus she's dumb as a stump.

One of the 3 kittens my friends rescued didn't make it. I'm worried the other two will be next. I wanted to feed them while I was visiting but friend was in a bad mood and wouldn't tell me where their food was and said they get fed enough. I think they don't and he doesn't realize it. He's never taken care of kittens that young that didn't have their mother. I'm going to see about finding some canned kitten food to bring over at some point.

Made an appointment for Mom but she had a full on toddler type tantrum about how I'm not in charge of her, I don't tell her what to do, I didn't consult her about it (which is a lie-- I *did* discuss it with her and she had no objections) and then canceled the appointment. She said she was in too much pain to go to the doctor. I told her that the fact that she's in pain is a reason to go. She still refused. Ugh. So, now I will have to try to get her to reschedule an appointment.

Been raining off and on all day which makes me sleepy so I've been napping with the cats piled on me. I'm not normally a back sleeper but cats got me pinned before I could roll on my side so I slept on my back for awhile.

It's been a long weekend. Have been on the go. Saturday was the memorial service of a family member - down in central OR. We drove down and back in one day because my nutty folks were going to do that and they shouldn't be doing that so we drove them. It was a very difficult service: a great gal and only just turned 41 a couple weeks before she passed. When big strong men are crying, it's rough!
Sunday I got to stay home and get a few things planted. I hear ya @Amish Heart on getting things in the ground late. I have put off getting the tomatoes and peppers out since it's been crazy weather. Yesterday a high about 60 and it's supposed to be in the 90's Friday
Today, I drove over 300 miles, headed up near @DrJenner and back.
Seems like there's been more but I can't remember it all. Next week we have to go to Portland for a birthday party - hoping after that to be home more. Difficult to get things done when I'm not here.

Over slept by 2hrs this morning, so I tossed out my list and started over. I have a puzzle to solve, equipment electrical issue. Several ways to address this problem. So I went to town just to wander through a few stores, hit wally’s, tsc and 2 auto parts and the farm/lumber store. Just trying to get ideas. Didn’t see what I needed to buy for plan A to work, but bought a small item that will allow plan B to work. Don’t want to go with plan B but might have to. (its complicated)

Needed a few groceries while in town, a local store had old fashioned wire handle fly swats. Seemed sturdy, bought 6. Has anyone else noticed odd items disappearing from shelves and not being replaced, for months? Not all of an item but brands. Where once there were 5 or 6 choices of a product type, now there are fewer choices. I noticed empty spots on shelves... across a wide range products. Something doesn’t seem quite right. Normal supply chain issues doesn’t seem an adequate explanation. Bought tinfoil today, maybe it’s time for a new hat?

Dropped the wife and camper off yesterday with her friends. Go pick them back up in the morning.
Was airing the tires up on the boat trailer Saturday getting ready to go fishin Wednesday and snapped a valve stem. It was from 1993, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Went to 3 shops before I found someone that would touch it since it was so old. Tire is in great shape and likely don't have a lot more than 1000 miles on it. One guy even commented how good it looked. Told him the only time the tires saw the sun was when we went fishing. Finally found a shop to put a new one in and wouldn't take a penny for it. Said it would be more trouble to do the paperwork. I will be going back to him when I need more tires.

Yep - I've been saying that also. Just saw (a tin hat theory) this morning a video stating that if you need something from China, better get it now.
2:43 min.

What I've noticed is that all amish women have gardens even if they don't like gardening. They put tomatoes, peppers out way too early (3 weeks ago) and then cover them with a milk or vinegar jug that they've cut the bottom out of . They still do freeze, like last week. Two of my neighbors lost all of their plants. Most do cabbage and peas as their only early grow, and the rest is the warm weather stuff like tomatoes, peppers, corn, zucchini...which they all pull out and dig their garden up to look like nice dirt usually the first of August.
I find this so strange. We are supposed to be able to plant after Mother's Day, but we can still lose our plants after that. I wait more until Memorial Day.

I replaced the tires on my small trailer in 2020. There was good tread, but the rubber was rotten. I bought a spare tire and wheel because I would never want to be stuck by the side of the road without a spare, knowing how long it could take to find the right size.

I have wondered how long tires last on something like a trailer, even with very little wear on them?

Mom is currently napping but I'm about to go check on her again. I've enlisted my sister's help in trying to convince her to go to the doctor. She's going to call tomorrow when Mom is awake to encourage her. She won't listen to me but she might listen to my sister.

I'm about to take my meds and then wait 30min to eat something.

Depends on conditions like weather and if they get direct sunlight.

At the auto shop getting the A/C looked at on the truck. After I'm back home I need to write a letter to my SO that will be buried with him. Definitely will be melting down. Need to throw some clean shavings in with the chicks and fill their waterer.

That will certainly be difficult but probably a very healing act💕
