Chickens are out and fed. Errands in town today. Gotta go to the post office to pick up an oversized envelope, bank to make a deposit, first feed store for dog food, western store to try to find a REAL leather belt, Home depot for gate hooks, grocery store for a few things, may swing thru Aldi and see what they have, second feed store for hay, and put fuel in the truck. Then home to do chores and feed critters.

One of the things I have already done this morning. And shovel out the gutter across the street that the City doesn't seem to do.

@sonya123 , I know I saw something about a German fermenter for salt rising bread. I didn't save it. Can you link that again, please. Hope springs eternal to make that bread!
Link for the recipe or the fermenter? DId you ever try the heating pad?
I am buying the fermenter mostly for yogurt because my old one doesn't work, it's not warm enough. The bread will be an experiment but will sell it at the market if it works.

It is supposed to get here in a few days, we'll see

Spent Friday and today waiting on a FedEx delivery.

I placed an order with a delivery date of middle of May.

End of May I received notice that my order was shipped with delivery the first week of June with signature required. Bummer, I’m not going to home the first week of June. I go on FedEx’s web site and have them put all deliveries on hold until Friday the 9th.

Friday I dottle around the house keeping an eye out for FedEx to no avail.

Saturday I get a notice FedEx will be delivering my order Monday.

Monday I dottle around the house keeping an eye out for FedEx. Just before noon FedEx pulls into my drive. I can see the FedEx driver moving around in his trucking, taking him forever to exit with my package. I head out to his truck and he meets me half way. He apologizes, his travel order shows he had a package for me but he can’t find it, must be on the wrong truck. I tell him that’s fine, mistakes happen. He says it will be on Tuesday’s truck.

Car goes to the mechanic Tuesday morning, I’ll be waiting in the mechanic‘s lobby until the car is done. Cancel the car appointment so I can be home for the delivery, drive a hour to the FedEx warehouse to sign and pickup or let FedEx put a notice on my door that they couldn’t deliver because no one was home to sign and hopefully the try again on Wednesday?
Wow L. You picked a good one - sorry - that's sarcasm.

I thought you found a fermenter for the bread, like a shortcut. My heating pad has an automatic shut off after 2 hours. Won't stay on all night.

Went to work this morning.
3 more weeks of this command.
I can do this maybe......................
Water bath canning 4 corn relish( half pints for Christmas gifts).
3 sliced Jalenpenos ( half pints)
1 sliced mushroom also a half pint.
Will work on supper in a bit.
Working on Christmas blankets, hats, scarf, and learning how to do gloves for grandchildren.
Estelle learned a painful lesson yesterday.
If you volunteer Granny to make your friend a hat.
Then you need to make Granny a coaster.
Especially if you don't discuss it with Granny first.
Guess who is getting a coaster.
Someone is very generous with Granny's time.

The last several days wiped me out, was getting my old truck and horses ready to be sold. Took 2 days just to get the corral ready to use. My sleep and eating patterns got disrupted, very bad for people with cfs. The guy stopped here 5 times, 4 times I was preparing a meal. That alone is enough to put me on my back for several days.

So today I did nothing but the minimum, just rest and eat (on schedule). Oh, I did remember to call the insurance agent and take my old truck off the policy. Missed the garbage truck though (pickup day), was to late taking it down to the road. Oh well, maybe the mailman won’t mind. I have put the trash cart next to the mailbox. With temps in the 90’s it’ll be getting ripe by the end of this week.

Lazy L, that is so incredibly frustrating. Fedex just sucks sometimes. I've had so many bad experiences with them.

Friend wasn't able to come over bc his gf's dog died (she's really feeling bac that her ex wouldn't let her have the dogs & I know she wishes she'd taken them or at least the one that died bc the dog probably would not have died). She's also mad that the ex didn't see fit to tell her & she had to find out from her current bf's ex. The gf has had some serious depression and he didn't want to leave her alone. I understand that.

I picked up my RX and picked up some potatoes for my friend to cook for dinner. Cooked for Mom and unboxed my tablesaw. I got a magnifying glass with LEDs to be able to read the directions. Don't have the right wrenches I need readily available so I need to look for them. 8 & 13mm. Covered the tablesaw in plastic to protect it from cats until I can get it together. Probably need an extra set of hands. Don't have too much left to do to set up the shower.

I slept in and am tired bc I ran out of my thyroid meds on Friday. I very rarely run out bc i'm normally on top of stuff like that. I also have been sweating profusely. I have very strong sour-smelling sweat when I'm off the thyroid meds. I sweat when I'm cold. My stupid neck and backs of my knees sweat. I took a sink bath before going to the store but by the time I was done shopping I was drenched with sweat. Didn't help that it was 95°F.

I had a salad and am going to take my meds a little earlier and then eat something. I'm supposed to wait 30min after meds to eat but I am hungry. LOL. If I eat first I'm supposed to wait 4hrs. Going to try to do some cleanup later as well.

Oh, I was watching Antiques Roadshow with Mom and they had a clay dog statue that some woman brought in. She got it in Mexico for $3k in the 90s and it was made between 200BC to 200AD. Not a crack on the thing that I could see and it was worth $9k to $12k now. The most amazing thing to me was how it was in such good condition after so long.

Cool looking dog. Funny, it looks like the drawing at a chinese restaurant in town of a pig. The menu has little red pigs on the pork dishes that look like it. It does sort of look like a pig, except the tail... Still, if my dog looked like that I wouldn't take it to a bbq restaurant. Not in this part of the south... 🤣

Wow @Amish Heart, I think it is awesome that she is taking sewing classes, it's almost a lost art. My wife loves to sew but finds it difficult to find patterns and fabric that match her tastes. Even the volume and quality of fabric available has greatly declined over the past decade. My wife has a collection of old patterns, mostly modest non-male (woke description) clothing. I think she has about 3 dresser drawers full and a few of bankers boxes to boot.

I'm not much of a seamstress at all...California had just done away with their home ec classes when I got to high school. My mom sewed, but I never learned. So, I think it's good she learns. The pillowcase she made last week came out well. This week is two afternoons, and it's a soft book bag, and next week is pj bottoms. I found a table at the thrift store for a few dollars to put my simply singer on, and it's now hers. I have one box of old fabric, so also gave her that to practice with. We can still find "vintage" fabric and homemade dresses and shirts at the mennonite thrift stores around here. One of these days I'll learn to sew with a pattern. Right now I just embroider, and always have something I'm working on.

Today is going to be a busy day for me. I have to mow the entire property and feed all the animals. It's a lot of work, but I always feel accomplished when everything is done. As for the mowing, I'll do my best to make sure the lawn looks nice and neat. Hopefully, I'll have some time left over to relax and enjoy the rest of the day.

A little after 5:30 right now. There is ONE severe t-storm just to my north that may hit me! Hoping the hail core misses me! Had Bear outside an hour ago and the lightning was crazy!! Big job today, then I need to go to the bank and the grocery store! Hope you all have a great Tuesday!!

I typed that as a storm was approaching and didn't post it!🤔😃 Oh well. Heading out the door. 🧹

Little granddaughter starts swimming lessons today...
Good on the swimming! My mom took me for lessons at the city pool one summer. A whole week, learned a new stroke each day. Through the years knowing how to swim has literally saved my life... more than once. It even allowed me to help guys who jumped from an exploding oil rig out in the gulf one night, they were happy I could swim. It's a gift that keeps giving... :)

Dealing with insurances today - car and travel- college admin, foot appointment with son and then driving around dropping his cv off at places for college work experience. Today is the hottest so far, so the car stinks. Bit by bit I'm clearing out stuff we don't use, so every time I go through a town I drop something off at a charity shop. Today I had a load of moisturizers and bits unopened from gift sets I don't use- a good bag, worth a good bit, so I stuck them up on a 'for free' site and dropped them off for a lady also. Also finally got a load of frames for pictures that have been laying around- now to bash a few nails in walls before husband gets home and wants to do it 'properly' lol

Cat Care this morning, then a talk with a Mortgage guy to see what we can actually afford. Seems it may be higher than I thought . Just the thought of moving all this 💩 makes me tired.
This might sound crazy (well you already know I am right ? 🤪) but moving can be a really good thing. When we moved off the mountain, we had a huge yard sale up there, then donated most of the left-overs. We got here and ended up having another huge yard sale then donated left-overs. It's difficult to go through and make decision after decision about what to keep and what goes, but a couple of things result. Things that belonged to others went to them (had stuff of my kids' and of my folks'). Had to declare that we are not a storage unit. What we kept was the best quality "stuff" so our belongings are now of better overall condition and value. And, those decisions are now done and are no longer on my shoulders &/or won't be passed off to others when our time comes. That alone is a huge relief. So it can look daunting, but it can be a real blessing. 😊

Yesterday was Church and storms. Power was out from 5:30 to 8:30. AC was still set at 80 from during the day, so it was really warm and having the windows open didn't help much.

This morning, I walked first.
Picked up branches.
Walked dogs.
Maybe take ebay photos, later.
Cut up carrots for dogs.

Taking it easy after morning chores & watering... I also made a town run to the MVD (or DMV) to get a non-op certificate for the bike, just in case repairs take longer than expected. I wanna sell the bike anyway and buy something smaller, so I'm hoping I made the right call here. Worst-case scenario: if the bike doesn't sell, I reinstate the insurance and ride again under that policy. The non-op certificate didn't cost anything, and it won't cost me anything to reinstate everything since my current registration is good until next year. If I find a buyer for the bike, it won't matter if I don't have insurance on it, as it's the buyer's responsibility anyway to show proof of insurance when registering a vehicle in NM. We'll see how it goes, I need to put up another round of ads for the bike, maybe lower the price a bit... 😒

Little granddaughter survived her first swimming lesson...she was nervous and didn't like wearing a swim suit in public (she's overweight), but she did fine, and is ready to go back tomorrow. We then went to Hobby Lobby and got her material for her upcoming projects. She loves that store, and there's alot of neat stuff there. Back home, where the young amish lad was working on the concrete in front of the barn. Weeds were growing in between the cracks, and a ton of leaves from winter all over. He worked for a couple of hours clearing all that. We unfortunately need to go back to the bigger town very soon for husband's allergy shots, and to pick up animal feed. Two drives a day takes some time. Tomorrow is busier. No storms here, it's pretty hot out. I'll have to water the garden when we get back.
