Life is good.
Amen to that. Even when it’s bad, it’s good.

had Heidi dog out earlier this morning before the rains come. She starts barking so I try to get her to come inside. She’s in patrol mode with a hackle Mohawk from head to tail tip looking towards the back corner of dad’s yard. I thought the fat groundhog was back. Nope something more enticing in the neighbor’s yard.

Had to run errands this morning, needed the truck to carry cargo... So I get about a block before Check engine light came on.... FYI I got the it's time to do your emissions test letter yesterday! O_CRA....

Got home and pulled out my handy tester, miss on #2 cylinder (I expected that due to long periods of sitting). Cleared the code and then drove it back to HD, driving like I just stole it! It's running smooth now. When you don't drive them often or far that tend to just get lazy. Now I need to start and stop it enough to have enough memory to do the emissions test...

This sucks, I'm going to work on my garden projects!

My only day off! Have laundry going, everyone is fed. Have all my push mowing to do☹️, Hubby has all the other mowing done. Putting up the solar lights in Bear's front yard by the pool, and extra solar deck lights in preparation of night pool! Had a power outage from 4am-6am. Took Bear out for a pee and we went back to bed, feels like the whole morning is off, I don't do that kind of thing! Will be watching for severe weather again this afternoon and tonight.

I'm so excited that my daughter is finally home from Washington, DC! We've got much catching up to do, and I can't wait to spend quality time with her. We're going to take it easy and enjoy each other's company, and we'll also take some time to talk about what's been happening in our lives. And, of course, we'll be showing her around the farm - it's always such a special place to be, and I know she will love it. I'm just so grateful to have her home with me, and I'm looking forward to making some beautiful memories together.

First full week of work at the new job is in the books. The boss was on vacation until Thursday so it was me and the guy and the guy I am replacing who was teaching as much as he could before he heads out to start his tile and stone install business. It went really well, and I am remembering stuff from the old days, and car repair knowledge is proving helpful even though I am working on ATV's and side by sides, and one snow blower. The boss was there Friday and it was a fun day, but he remembered he will be gone next Thursday and Friday so I will be on my own those days. No problem, I should be able to handle everything.

I am picking up my new glasses today, progressive style lens so I can focus on the small carburetor parts and see other things better in tight places with limited light. Other than that I wont need them, until my eyes start getting used to them and I may need to use readers more often.

Yesterday I sanded and added another coat of oil based rustoleum on my work bench. I will add one final coat today then tonight I will paint the trim. Tomorrow I will move the junk from the old section to the new section so I can paint that bench top again. I added extra white into the grew this time so it is a bit lighter shade so I need to repaint the old part to make them match. With any luck I will have the garage workbench organized by tomorrow night.

While waiting for the paint to dry I will dig up some plants from the overgrown front garden area, mostly Irises and some short bush looking plants, both spread rapidly and make great ground cover. We had a bunch of rain yesterday so digging should be easy and transplanting them might be successful with the wet ground.

Aside from that, I got nothing. :ghostly:

Hey IR, your posts in general sound so much more energetic since you left HD. I know you just did your work there, but maybe it was effecting you more than you realized.
@Peanut I know you’ve been in a funk since returning, but does going for a short walk “weed hunting” help clear the cobwebs? It seems to be almost innate for you to recognize plants so . . .

Animal chores, cleaned the rabbit cages, too. Lunch made, ate, and just have to finish dishes. Neighbor that's been out of town selling show sheep came by. I watered her Pots while she was gone. Neighbor next to us came by with her little ones, each carrying a bag of zucchini. She saw that ours aren't ready yet. I broiled some halves with cheese on them for lunch. I'll be making chocolate zucchini bread this afternoon.

Chillin' out after a town run... drinking a cold beer. I was gonna buy Coors, but the 30-pack I wanted was wedged into the cooler hard... I wrassled with it for awhile, then said to heck with it and picked up a pack of regular Bud, lol. Somebody needs to adjust those shelves in the reefer, that Coors pack was stuck in there like nobody's business. I picked up some cool Westerns from the library, and I saw this Dalmatian mailbox on the way to Walmart... :)

Lawn looks like it's in trouble, but meh, not my problem... extra credit given for Dalmatian mailbox, lol.

Animals got dropped off yesterday and hopefully made it to New Holland...it's their biggest auction of the year for sheep and goats. We stayed for a few hours to help with tagging and I did some of the paperwork for the trucker. There were about 30 different people dropping off animals to go. Some have like 30 to 50, some only 1 or 2. I hope our old ladies made it up there ok. We'll find out next week
We drove the Uhaul I rented before our truck got fixed. Finally returned it today. We put almost 600 miles on it in less than a week. We were probably a few pounds over the limit of what we were supposed to tow with it....don't tell Uhaul....

Felt bad for all the orphans today. They were crying a lot ( but of course old enough to eat grass and drink water, or I would not have shipped off the moms). They'll get over it in a few days I hope. One of them got stuck in the electric tape, that husband forgot to change out the battery and charge it. I am getting really tired of his lack of paying attention to anything. Sometimes I wonder if the concussion he had a few years ago killed a few brain cells or something. *sigh*

It's been an exhausting week. Finally did some laundry today.

Short night at work last night, came home n mowed the front.
Today I mowed small field , garden n back yard. Planted some beans n peas, rotertilled the garden between the beds , checked on my friends home n cat, laundry n cooked a steak on the grill for me n dogs.
Now I dont want to move..so I think I'll finish a rug n sew the ends n tag on while I catch up on news.

Work was light today, but sleep last night nearly nonexistent. Got home, fell asleep at the table, went to bed for a few hours. Daughter fixed dinner. I honestly thought it was early Sunday morning. Lol
No stogies 🚬, no cold ones 🍺 no coffee:coffee: for me
No pool either darn it 🏊‍♀️
Sounds like you need a good rest and a nice stoogie

And maybe a visit to Pearl's and hit the pool

Alexandra and I neither one slept very much last night and we usually have no problem with that.

Had a nice visit with mom and pops. We wheeled mom out of the home and down the block to the town arboretum. They have and octagon shaped, covered gazebo and we ate under there. It was a beautiful evening with family but we had to cut it a little short because a storm came in. It rained so hard on the drive home that we had to pull off and wait the storm out. It's good though, we needed this rain.

So, now its off to bed. Be good, H&CL!

I had a scare today.
Got back home after ignoring my tablet for a day and a half.
It must have been mad at me:mad:.
Pressed the power button... nothing. Black screen.gaah
Plugged & unplugged power cord.... no workee.:( No reset button.
(yes, I have a smaller backup)
I was about to drop $130 on a new one and DW heard me b*ching....
She said: "Google says to cold-reset a Kindle Fire tablet, press and hold the power and volume-down button for 40 seconds".
You can add this to one more time she has saved my azz.
It worked!!!:woo hoo:

Our under a year old tv would not turn on yesterday. Mr Google said to try lots of things and none worked. So the bedroom (smaller) tv is out now. Husband isn't happy...he wants another bigger one. So Happy Father's day to all you dads out there tomorrow. I made a dark chocolate cream pie to have with steaks tomorrow night.. After animal chores, we'll go have a lunch picnic at the nature center in the bigger town.

Plants keep me grounded. Modern life is noise coming at us every waking moment… hard to see truth, unless… Ya'll have seen the photos I post… I highly recommend spending time in a forest each week.

i need a camper shell for my silverado. Just for going up on the mtn to play bluegrass. I can drive up the night before and camp. Driving up the day of the event didn’t work very well last month.

I’m looking for used and cheap, aluminum. Whats a good price? haven’t seen one for sale in local web or print. The listings were for fiberglass which is hard to handle alone. I need something easy to take off, aluminum is light enough. I’ll hang it in the side shed of the pole barn. There’s always pvc and duct tape… wasn’t that an episode of the Red Green show? 🤣

Had a shell for many years, handy, but didn’t like the loss of visibility then, a pain when driving. And I need better visibility at my age! 😁 not less!!

Today I got in touch with the guy who puts on the bluegrass event (been playing phone tag for 2 weeks). Anyway, said he knew of a few places he could call. Most bluegrass pickers have tents, campers, shells, rv’s… or know someone who does. Might find something...

He and I were laughing... seems outdoor music events attrack big thunderstorms. I've slept in a car several times at festivals. I even bought a car with a hatch back. He had an old station wagon he'd take to Bean Blossom indiana. Learned the hard way having campsites wrecked by wind and rain. Best have a vehicle that's comfortable just in case.
