Snickerdoodles go well with coffee ☕😍. Sounds like a hoot!
Was awake part of the night 🤨. Today still managed to get quite a bit done. Made mud in the bathtub from garden feet so must have been an okay day.
Hubby’s birthday 🥳
You haven't lived until you have dissolved a 3 musketeers bar in hot coffee!

Our under a year old tv would not turn on yesterday. Mr Google said to try lots of things and none worked. So the bedroom (smaller) tv is out now. Husband isn't happy...he wants another bigger one. So Happy Father's day to all you dads out there tomorrow. I made a dark chocolate cream pie to have with steaks tomorrow night.. After animal chores, we'll go have a lunch picnic at the nature center in the bigger town.
Odd thing, I have flat screen monitors going up to fifteen years old that still work, a few of which can be used as TVs. Why are the TVs so crappy and the monitors seem to live forever?

Hey IR, your posts in general sound so much more energetic since you left HD. I know you just did your work there, but maybe it was effecting you more than you realized.
@Peanut I know you’ve been in a funk since returning, but does going for a short walk “weed hunting” help clear the cobwebs? It seems to be almost innate for you to recognize plants so . . .
Thank you. Slowly transitioning into a better atmosphere. It will take me a bit to catch up on home stuff, and a long while to get back to a desire to finish the many things on the house still related to the building process. Plus I have a few vehicles that have been neglected far too long. But, one step at a time.

Well, I accomplished a few things, got my new glasses that will mainly be used for working on carburetors. It's the small parts I need help with, the bigger parts and bolts are not a problem. Stopped at Harbor Freight for almost $300 of stuff I didn't quite know I needed. New plastic molded car ramps that should fit under todays low profile vehicles. They only lift the car 6" so I may mount them on to a 2x12 to give that extra 1 1/2" lift prior to the ramp and increase the total lift to 7 1/2", that should be plenty for oil changes. A small storage bin set up that I mounted under the bottom shelf of the book shelf that is going on top of my new work bench. Repair manuals and other books on the top shelves, storage for screws and nuts and bolts and other small things in the bins. I didn't use the enclosed stand things, I mounted it to the back of the book shelf so it will take up less room. I also painted it blue to match the shelf and the base cabinets. One last coat of light grew oil based paint on the new counter top, and the first coat of yellow on the front end of the work bench. Actually two coats because as soon as i finished the first coat I started over and added the second and final coat of yellow then pulled off the tape to give it a clean edge line. I also bought 3 sets of pigskin leather work gloves since their $6 price is the best price around. A few magnetic strips for hanging various things on the wall behind the workbench. A few other odds and ends that will come in handy in the garage.
I got tired and didn't get to transplanting the plants from the front garden to the side yard, maybe tomorrow or during the week. GF just left for another 3 day trip, she will be back home Tuesday afternoon. I will be off to bed soon and hoping to sleep in a bit, if I am lucky I will get 8 hours of sleep.
Sunday I hope to organize the garage and make room for my truck again. In the near future I will either get the Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo running again or maybe work on the '64 Chevelle to make it my daily driver. If I do the Monte Carlo first I can put a for sale sign on it and maybe move it on to it's next owner and pocket some cash, although the GF's daughter needs a car to get back at forth to college but I am not sure I want to risk any damage to the car so that is not high on the list.

Plants keep me grounded. Modern life is noise coming at us every waking moment… hard to see truth, unless… Ya'll have seen the photos I post… I highly recommend spending time in a forest each week.
--------------------------------------

i need a camper shell for my silverado. Just for going up on the mtn to play bluegrass. I can drive up the night before and camp. Driving up the day of the event didn’t work very well last month.

I’m looking for used and cheap, aluminum. Whats a good price? haven’t seen one for sale in local web or print. The listings were for fiberglass which is hard to handle alone. I need something easy to take off, aluminum is light enough. I’ll hang it in the side shed of the pole barn. There’s always pvc and duct tape… wasn’t that an episode of the Red Green show? 🤣

Had a shell for many years, handy, but didn’t like the loss of visibility then, a pain when driving. And I need better visibility at my age! 😁 not less!!

Today I got in touch with the guy who puts on the bluegrass event (been playing phone tag for 2 weeks). Anyway, said he knew of a few places he could call. Most bluegrass pickers have tents, campers, shells, rv’s… or know someone who does. Might find something...

He and I were laughing... seems outdoor music events attrack big thunderstorms. I've slept in a car several times at festivals. I even bought a car with a hatch back. He had an old station wagon he'd take to Bean Blossom indiana. Learned the hard way having campsites wrecked by wind and rain. Best have a vehicle that's comfortable just in case.
I haven't seen an aluminum camper shell in years! Aren't there portable canvas shells? Need to look into that more🤔.

Missing a chicken last night, bed check came up short. This morning I found the AWOL hen, extracted her from where she got "trapped" and put her back with the flock. Then found and closed her escape route :).
Now we wait for the seller of the house to take action on the offer, waiting is the hardest part.

I had planned on staying up late last night but was struggling by 930 to keep my eyes open.
I was in bed before the sun was down on a sat night :/
I was going to check one last thing as I crawled into bed n cell service went down from last night to this am.
Today..its windy n only going to be in the low 60, mixed clouds kinda day.
I'm beat still...
Late nights trying to stack with a crappy worn out machine n 1×4 units with these "wings" on the edges that dont stack together well..along with tons of mowing at home is kicking my butt.
I think today will be a chill inside day.
I might go walk the dogs ..but otherwise
Start another rug..cook, laundry n relax kinda day sounds very good.
Oh..I found a turkey chick in a water bucket :/ on of my crossbreed chicks. It got out and I forgot to empty that bucket yesterday when I was watering everything.. :/ such a pretty chick too!

Forgot this..finished last night..
I just saw two of the wild hens start to come down to visit my flock..they were on the hill both with babies. Then my neighbor drove by n spooked them into the draw..I'm super curious if they have little red hybreed babies in the mix!

Finished my routine morning chores, now I'm having a beer and working up the 'Dutch Courage' to tackle the kitchen painting project, lol. I wanna get started today, because the days are ticking down toward the end of the month (and my birthday), and I want the painting done before that day arrives. I'm just gonna roll out surfaces today, possibly including the walls behind the oven & fridge (I only have 3 rollers left). Ceiling gets done first, after I throw down some plastic "drop cloths" to protect the counters, appliances & floor. Then I'll do what I can with the walls... I wanna roll out primer & paint today, so I'm looking at two coats, first the Kilz2 and then the good Behr paint, which is actually primer & paint in one mix. I have plenty of Kilz2, but only so much Behr paint, so that's another factor to consider. 😒

However, I like the way the Kilz2 primes surfaces (hiding all kinds of ugliness, lol), and it is compatible with the blended Behr paint, so I'll use it first to create a good primed surface for the topcoat. I can even hit the really ugly spots several times with the Kilz2, just to make sure they stay hidden, lol. I also like the way the Kilz2 hides the ugly factory wallpaper, better to have the Kilz2 as a primer when dealing with that cr@p. It means using an extra roller, but it'll be worth it, and I'm just tossing the rollers rather than trying to clean 'em... not good for my septic tank. So that's my plan for the day, once I get started it should go pretty smoothly, it ain't my first rodeo when it comes to painting... or home rehab work. Almost time to get started, one more beer first... y'all catch a break for the rest of the day, lol. 😎

Got chicken chores done. Getting ready to go to lunch in town with my grandparents for fathers day. Then it'll be school stuff and chores the rest of the day. It's quite hot here so if it's outside and it doesn't get done early in the morning it's not happening.

Went to bed early so I missed all the plans last night. If it’s not too late (or too early now), I’ll bring the cheesecake. I make a killer cheesecake.
I've been busy. Like a whirlwind! I'll bring the grits and gravy!
My laptop is down, too. Difficult to text replies on my phone.

Church was great.
One of my daughters stopped by here for a minute. She visited her dad's spot at the cemetery with a little hot wheels car and flowers before that. It is 91°. I've got no plans.
Might work on genealogy some, uncovered a bunch of cool stuff on both mine and LH's last time, a couple months ago. Stayed up very late, peeling back layers of historical facts. Surprising how much can be found and no one else in the family knew about any of it. I love doing it. (late 1600s-1700s).

Work on tree removal (that fell on the garden) a bit before lunch. Turned out to be two huge branches. It took down 4 of the covered cabbage and brussel sprouts areas. And half the pumpkins. But I quit before noon, because now it needs the chain saw for the rest. Packed a lunch and we went to the zoo in the bigger town. Loaded husband's scooter and all was well. Stopped at a snow cone place afterwards, and as little granddaughter said, froze our whole face. Just watched the last episode of Manifest with her, she was a big fan of it. Good ending. Getting afternoon chores done, and making a special dinner for husband.

Just think about how much money you “saved” by them refusing your offer.

Wait a week or two, make the Seller your same offer to see if they changed their mind?
It wouldn't surprise me if they call our agent in a week or so. That house won't qualify for FHA or VA without more work. Bad for them, my counter will be even lower :p. Already getting quotes to fix up the paid for house, with the money left over we can get her a new car that gets better milage :D

When you hold the cards and don't have to move, you can hold the line :D

I installed a mount in my F150 to hold two phones, a dash cam, and my seven inch rearview camera monitor.
I mounted RAM ball mounts so it's interchangeable if I want to move things around.
While I had things disassembled I added some power outlets so I don't have charging cables running all over the place.
I have to wait till I get another mount before I can reassemble everything.
So far I have about four hours in this simple job and it will take another one or two hours to complete.
I will try to remember to post pictures when it done.

Tell me about this gravy. When I make grits with eggs over and sausage patties.
OK. I made a chicken dish today. Chicken thighs in pan. Mixed 1 can each of cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup with half packet onion soup mix and pour over chicken. Baked 1 hour at 375 covered, then uncovered for 15 minutes. Makes it's own gravy and was delicious! So easy. I put some of that gravy on grits, which is how I came up with that combo.

Funny others are having sleep issues too. I don’t usually have that problem either but 2 nights in a row I heard the clock chime midnight then awake. Last night was better, didn’t wake up until 2am when the wind was blowing the curtains and shades. Maybe tonight I will make it through the night.
Windy again today. Got a bit more done outside but tried to get some things done inside.
Snappy - not sure how you do it. I took pictures of a bunch of costume jewelry to list (from my gma and ggma- we’ve all taken what we want and still have a big box that can go).
