The bad part is I'm on Disability and will be lucky to have the money for the pipe once I get to the problem let alone be able to pay anybody anything and most people anymore won't loose money helping people out. Thanks for the thought though.
You would like help, yell. Money isn't a subject, just helping a friend. I'm some use, but maybe not enough.

Like everything, two are more likely to succeed than one. Lori and I can do things NEITHER of can do on our own. TEAMWORK ROCKS

You need help, yell, it;s only a couple hours away :)
That's a lot of gas and I couldn't repay you for it. I'll think about it. I hate taking advantage of people and that's how I would feel if you did. With all my health issues you'd be doing most of the work because I can only do it a few hours a day and have to rest frequently that's why it's taking so long. I'll see how I feel tomorrow, the way my stomach's hurting now I might not feel up to it but I hope I can get something done since the next 2 days are suppose to be nice out. I'm not sure how your health is but if it's not much better than mine maybe we could switch back and forth.

They are like a little blue grey gnat. They get in your eyes and hair and teeth etc. This pix looks big but they are maybe just over 1/8".

I made a huswif. It's nearly finished but I'm sitting here on the computer rather than up there finishing it. Maybe tomorrow then I will post it in the sewing thread :)
That looks like a Mayfly, great fish food. Gnats, when we we down on the Rye Patch Reservoir area which is part of the Humboldt river columns of gnats were flying by the bridges, I stopped one time to get a GPS reading and the dang gnats chewed on my arms until they were bleeding, nasty little creatures.

I had set a small live trap out a few days ago to hopefully get some squirrels that we’re getting in my roof. Got a groundhog instead. I let him out and saw him run under my back porch.

Got the bigger trap out and got him again this evening. Took him to an area near a creek away from the house, next to a Meijer. While in Meijer getting some soil to fill in the hole the lady in front of me at the checkout had a praying mantis on some vegetables. The cashier pulled it off, and I told him I would take it outside, I left it on some mums. I think I might be turning into Dr. Dolittle!

Let me say a few things. I KNOW where Portland IN is, been through there more times than I can count on my way north, Fort Wayne. If I couldn't make the trip, I wouldn't offer. I ain't much use, but I am not yet dead. Man hours are man hours, 2 guys for an hour are 2 man hours. So we take breaks? Then we start again, the goal is the endpoint, NOT when we arrive. NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER. IMPROVISE ADAPT OVERCOME.

Lucky he is with you, can't relocate the (REDACTED) here, it's release on property or end it all for them.

@squirrelhunter is there any way you can use bungee cords with hooks (they sell them as tie downs) as a makeshift harness to attach yourself to the seat so you don't fly out? Or is it possible to rig something with a pulley wheel, chain, and hand crank winch? If there's some way to establish a fulcrum point and use a jack or something, maybe you can pull the roots out that way?

I'm glad there was no internal bleeding but sorry you were injured. I don't think its taking advantage if someone volunteers to help you so you don't get hurt again. It's worth it for friends.

I never did take my nap but now I'm hungry again.

From DNR: "Groundhogs can be live-trapped using a cage trap baited with apples. You do not need a permit to trap a woodchuck, but you must have permission from a landowner or property manager to release a woodchuck on their property.

Shooting, where legal, can also be an effective method or reducing or maintaining a low population of groundhogs. Groundhogs can be captured or killed year-round without a permit or hunting or trapping license from the DNR, and there are no limits to the number that can be taken."

Hey @INresponse whatchya been up to? Still liking your job? Don’t you have a stray turkey that hangs around?
Not too much new on this end, but YES, I love my new job. I have been there about 4 months and the boss has been there about 2 months. It is great that he trusts me and knows I can do most the work myself. He was off the last 2 weeks for a hunting trip with his kids and I did accomplish a lot and ran most of the ordering of parts without a problem. He checked in the first Saturday and helped sort things out and helped order a few things I was unfamiliar with, and then said "Do what you can do and leave the rest for me." What more can I ask for? We caught up on most of the stuff I had difficulties with on Monday and Tuesday this week and started catching up pretty good today.
Stray turkey? She only came around a few days this past spring, but as soon as we started leaving out food and water she had moved on to somewhere else in the area. We will try again in the spring, leaving out food and water before she comes around so it is there when she shows up. But, I think we are "inviting" 3 of our 4 turkeys to dinner this fall, keeping only one Jenny who is very friendly and plays well with the chickens and ducks. So, without the Tom she may not have much interest in our flock.

One new thing for me, I went to a new Chiropractor yesterday and today. We were referred to him by our Chiropractor friend in Michigan who we visited when we were back there for Labor Day. He went to the same Chiropractor school that she did and his information on his website is very similar to hers so she approved. X-Rays and evaluation last night, today we discussed a lot of things and my current spinal situation and I bit the bullet to pay "less money" in advance for a 3 month set of regular visits. My spine is out of shape in the lumbar area and the cervical area, confirmed by the X-rays taken by him and our family friend in Michigan 6 weeks ago. Still, a big chunk of money but I need things fixed and I need the medical tax write-off on my taxes so better to lump it with this years medical bills and kinda force myself to make the regular appointments. I am really impressed with his personality and his explanation of where I am and where I will be in a few months. He is the first local Chiropractor I have been to who didn't want to just twist and crack me and say come back next week. I had showed my last Chiropractor my X-rays from Michigan and the radiologist report and he did nothing different and when asked he said I am getting older and there is not much that can be done to correct the problems. That was the last time we will be visiting his office.

I'm up earlier than early!! Am I up earlier than Urbanhunter?? Nothing too unusual happening today, going to work!! Last hot day it looks like. Cleaning for the people who haven't cleaned their house in three and a half years. This is the second and if I am smart, last time!! Should be an interesting day!!

Someone mentioned "Jack in the Box", those all closed around here years ago. Only thing I really remember is they precooked all the sandwich meat and reheated it in a microwave. But that was back in the 80s.

Sorry, I was straining the chicken stock from last night! :) More Dr's visits today...

I was up at 4 am, also.
Today, I will walk first. Never walked yesterday as it rained all day.
Will pick up my friend and take her to her bank and loan payment place.
Go to Aldi, Walmart and back home.
Walk dogs.
Haircut at 1pm.
Bible study at 6. It's a friend's Birthday. I made a Butter Pecan Cheesecake, yesterday while the dog food was pressure canning.

Wow, I don't know how you guys do it. I love to sleep. I'm only up now because the alarm clock went off and it's time to have coffee and be ready to take the two girls to school. In my sleepy defense, husband does wake me up a number of times a night when he isn't doing well.
Plumber is coming out at some point this morning....dishwasher is draining to the overflow outlet outside, so husband called them. I'd love to get to the bin stores today, and then stop in for mom...visit, and pay her bill. We'll see. Little granddaughter's school is playing softball against the other schools in our district today. So they get to travel to the next town, eat at the school snack bar, all that fun stuff. Last year they were top dogs. I think it's because they are the farm kids.

What is this "sleep" thing? I am unfamiliar with that term. I have arthritis pain in my feet that keeps me from sleeping. And having CKD I can't have most pain meds.

We're getting ready to leave for the Dr's. But, so far this morning I've got the dishes washed, including the stock pot, I fixed us eggs and for breakfast, I added 9 bags of soil to 3 raised beds, I ended up changing clothes because bags of soil were wet... I am hoping we can get to the doctor's and back by 12:45 because I have a call for work at 1PM... I am hoping to plant onion and garlic either tonight or tomorrow night after work, we are expecting rain this weekend so I want to get it done before that arrives.

So that groundhog is a slow learner….got trapped twice? I wouldn’t have killed him, either.

I am not a morning person. I dint get up until around 8:00.

The alarm woke me at 4:30. My sinuses have been an issue for me the past several months and only getting worse. I have been waking up during the night in coughing fits. Have an appt. today with an ENT specialist. I want to sleep!

Ends up my winch has an adapter plate with it to attach it to a ball hitch so for now on I'll use the winch.

I understand about the "not taking advantage' part but I still would feel that way, it's just the way I am. I even hate asking neighbors to help me move stuff or do anything even if it doesn't cost anything.

Ok. You're welcome to come and help I'd really appreciate. I think if I'm not where the bad spot is now that it shouldn't be much farther. I'm running late today because I had to go the mounting stuff for the winch and still have to switch it from the trailer to the ATV so I doubt I get much done on the tile drain today. Tomorrow afternoon I'll get back on it but the weekend looks rainy and chilly so I probably won't mess with it. Next Monday-Wednesday I'll go back at it weather permitting. Next Thursday and Friday I have to get ready and do a stress test so they're out.
I'm not sure if we can PM on this site or not to give you my address and phone number so you can find me and let each other know when.

I've had allergies since I was 15 and normally I'm ok except for a week in the Spring and Fall when the weather starts changing then they give me fits. I've been have problems since last fall this whole year this time for some reason so I get an idea what you're going through. It's not much fun. Hopefully the specialist can help.

My day from hell, everything is going to crap and zeroed in on my wallet and health and kicking my brains for good measure.

I cleared a portion of the work bench then set to work on a project for my son. Fiddling in the shop is one of my favorite activities.

I will be spending time this evening looking for deals from Amazon deal days. Found a book on mushroom hunting The Princess had on a wish list.

Behave

Ben
I so need to clean up my bench! It’s a disaster with the jeep project! The whole shop is. Winter is coming and I’ll put off the biggest part of that job for cold weather. Pullets are laying a variety of pretty eggs now and the lone duck lays an egg most days.

Busy.......busy, lol. I went through my BOB, IFAK(stop the bleed) and my tourniquets and splint kit. I still have a few things to hunt down and add. Tomorrow it will be carbine day, I plan to completely strip 2 of them down, clean, inspect and lube. This will be a good chance to educate my youngest on the finer workings of an AR. I will also clean and inspect my sidearm and it's drop leg holster. Going through all batteries for weapons mounted lights and optics.
