Yep you are still what you were before you had the injuries and I am still ambidextrous too. Thank you :) @MoBookworm1957 and hope you don't mind me explaining how the seizures happen to others. Yes I don't tell many people I suffer seizures either unless they are present when I have one.
I don't normally explain about the seizures because people treat you differently if you have seizures.
One of the things I tell people if I go into seizure "Don't touch me, because you could hurt me".
Some people think still think that you need to hold them down, force a wooden stick into your mouth.
But most of us just want to be treated with dignity, and understanding as all people do.
You explained so much better than I could have right now.

Yes I understand that people treat you differently @MoBookworm1957 and I was accused of being both a drug addict and or drunk because I had seizures. I think the more people who understand what is going on the better and the stigma will lessen in society. Similarly I also tell people not to touch me but tell them if my seizure lasts longer than 5 mins to call an ambulance.

I tell the same thing.
I also wear dog tags that has information on it.
Name, rank, allergies, medical conditions like seizures, at one time very high blood pressure, migraines etc.
Also have ankle bracelet with the same information.
It has saved my life a time or two.

I think so too @Patchouli and it also lets people know what to do if they see someone having a seizure and also you are right unless people know someone close to them has seizures or have seen them most do not understand it and are scared.
Still hard to talk about.
But in my case I was in the right place at the right time, but it ended very badly for all involved.
My self and Gus included.

The medical tags are a good idea so people know too if you are down @MoBookworm1957. My husband and I are usually together most of the time so I don't have medical tags and those who are close friends some being practicing doctors know about my condition too. DH is field trained in medical from his Army service.
I am making myself get back out with everyday people.
Relearning people skills, hence why I go out on Group date night.
Getting active again in American Legion, VFW because of comfort safety zone.
My safety is very important to me.
Going back to school, joining non military clubs hence knitting and crocheting class.
The knitting and crocheting does several things, helps with my memory exercises, helps with my motor skills.

It is hard when you have bad experiences involving casualties to discuss this with others @MoBookworm1957, I know DH struggles still with discussing his accident where a few of his colleagues passed away and his service. I recommend you get in contact with a VA councellor if you are suffering PTSD type symptoms ,night terrors, nightmares or flashbacks and also grief councelling if you are struggling with recent incidences. They are very good at discussing and offering you ways to minimise your trauma and grief and it does help to talk it through with a professional. DH still suffers both night terrors and PTSD but he has learnt better coping mechanisms for this since therapy. He does still have both but is now less likely to be triggered and can now socialise much better than he could when he wouldn't leave the house.

I'm up dressed.
Got rewash my hair, woke up really really bad bed head hair.
But that's what I get for going to bed with wet hair.
Sitting here sipping coffee with Strawberry on my lap.
She's been outside once this morning already to care of all her business.
She's laying on my legs, snoring.
Tonight is date night Wah Hoo!
Need to press my shirt for that.
Still need to do bit more dusting in my bedroom.
Had found giant dust bunnies in corners of my bedroom.
Bout the size of turtle wasn't sure if vacuum was going to handle them.
Still watching the Missouri River, watching levees break.
Me thinks the Missouri River is trying to change her course.
She's done that several times over the past years.
Of course the Corp of Engineers think she's fine where she is, but she proves them wrong time after time.
Small towns around me are sand bagging.
Will find out today or tomorrow whether several smaller towns will evacuate.
So getting dad's house ready to take in families from my second hometown.
My brother and his kids families.
Part of his kids will go to her mom's, but the boys and their families will go to dad's.
They have been moving stuff into dad's basement, attic for several days.
This could get as bad as the flood of 1993.
Suppose to rain starting tonight.
Everybody have a blessed day.

I was feeling that way, too LL. Stuck in my office. Worked late. Came home and got the animals fed right before dark. One of the old men cats (George) passed this afternoon. I buried him when I got home. The other old man cat is sad. Feeling for him.
Excalibur died today. Kitchen sink and island sink are clogged. I called a plumber to come out tomorrow. Twins ran at their first track meet. Grandson came in last in one run and second to last in the other run. Granddaughter came in 3rd in one run and second to last in another. I think they assumed they would do better. So there's room for improvement.

Woke up this morning to rain so no working in the yard today :( .

Instead we DH washed the dishes, cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put the dishes away. It is cold and breezy so we have shut most of the windows in the house and just left the sash windows open at the top and had nice warm showers and I am dressed in trackies, long sleeved t-shirt and a jacket with uggies. Really weird weather but nice to be wrapped up warm in some winter clothing. I have put out rain barrels to catch the water coming off the tank stand shed and out around the gutters too.

We have had 5.2 mm more of lovely rain today so hopefully that will help fill our rain water tanks up. They are not yet full but hopefully shortly with more rain.

Also exciting is our post hole auger motor turned up too but sadly they sent us the motor with the wrong sized auger bit smaller than the one advertised in the listing. I have now contacted them via eBay message to send us the larger auger bit as advertised in their eBay listing and waiting on their reply.

Tonight's dinner was tacos and mince and home grown vegetables with cheese grated on top and dessert was tinned pears, homemade chocolate fudge sauce and whipped cream.

Hope you had a great date night out @MoBookworm1957 and sorted out your hair. Incidentally my hair regularly does that and no product will tame it :D, as I have really thick hair.

Round 1 of today is that I have stain removed some clothing, put on a load of washing and hung it on the clothesline to dry and shortly will bring it in as it is looking overcast again. Then I popped on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine and that is now cooked and about to have lunch but had fruit with my iron and multivitamin tablet for entree.

While it is cooler and overcast today DH while I was making the bread and taking phone calls dug out the cacti we poisoned and put them in the bin along with all the fallen leaves and fruit. I went down to help him and we got 2 more posts down from the grapeyard vineyard. If it is still cool and overcast we might go down this afternoon and remove more posts.

Round 2 of today is that we decided not to do more posts as it was a bit hot so instead we stripped the bed of sheets to wash tomorrow and remade it with clean sheets and folded up 3 loads of clean washing and put it away. While we were down digging out dead cactus we also found a really old complete amber medicine bottle buried so I will look into that as it is branded with the companies name on it. Being that we are in a home that has been here since 1910 it could very well be quite valuable :) .

Tonight's dinner will be leftovers from last night being mince stir fry and homegrown vegetables.

I've planted my spinach and radishes this morning.
Also have the quilt and blanket in the washer ( didn't get to it before)
Gonna change the sheets and wash the old ones
Have some dishes to do up after my lunch
Ordered a couple of refills on some prescriptions. Will pick them up tomorrow
Have to check the cookie jar to see if hubby ate them all so I can make more lol
Still have some containers to get ready but they'll be for the summer plants ( tomatoes, peppers, etc) so it can wait for a couple of weeks and I need to get the manure for adding to them
Need to make a cake next week and I'm thinking of a lemon cake with powdered sugar over top instead of the over sweet icing/frosting
Also started a list of things I want to stock up on for storage since reading some articles about food shortages and higher prices because of the flooding out west. ( I need more half gallon mason jars for vacuum sealing things)

I'm up dressed.
Hair is stilling doing it's own thing.
Took 2 washing to get it semi tamed the other day.
Day is overcast with rain in the forecast.
Strawberry is pouting.
But she sprawled out on loveseat in living room.
Got red kidney beans going in crock pot.
Finally did something with leftover chicken thighs.
Baked them in rice, spinach and artichoke dip for lunch.
Beans and biscuits for supper, haven't figured out what else yet.
Still haven't went to Wal*Mart yet.
They are moving the apartment complex today.
Cutting down trees, hauling them out.
Volunteer trees.
Chives are up. Nothing else in the herb garden that I can see.
Crocheting on Christmas gift will post picture of it when done.
Have American Legion meeting tonight.
Nothing much going on.
Amish Heart, sorry to hear about cat.
Don't know what I would do if something happened to Strawberry.
Everybody have a good day.

sorry about your cat, @Amish Heart . It is hard to get used to their not being around.
:(

i was lifting last night on purpose. wondered if I was having a heart attack tonight because of my arm pain, back, shoulder.
knucklehead. stress can also cause a similiar pain. but no, i overexerted myself.
@MoBookworm1957 you cook some good vittles.
@joel don't say retire. say not work for money, and keep on doing stuff. stay busy.

Woke up this morning and couldn't find Tabatha the cat but then she appeared from the food storage room. Thinking to myself what is she doing in the storage room ? as she usually doesn't go in there I went in there and saw blood spread across the floor  and thought it was hers. No there was a highly venomous 60 cm long juvenile Eastern Brown snake she had killed and was guarding us from it. The smaller ones have more venom in them as they do not control their venom injection and give it all out in one bite. DH got the long handled dust pan and brush and swept it in and the darn thing was still moving  but we think it was in it's last throws of dying. They can still strike when they are dead or dying until the enevitable stiffness sets in for some hours.

We are on cat watch as you can't tell where our Australian venomous snakes bite as there are no signs. She is still doing fine and romping around the house but we will keep an eye on her until tomorrow morning as the vet told us if she survives the first 24 hours she will be fine if she has been bitten. We have the snake in a bottle of methylated spirits just in case Tabatha comes down sick so they can work out which antivenom to give her if the worst happens.

DH then stain removed some clothing and hung it on the clothes line to dry and is about to bring it back in and swept the vinyl floors. Shortly he will vacuum and I will deep clean the bathroom and toilets. We are making out our shopping list for town for next week and I will order some discount vouchers from our roadside assist club to give us 5% off our staples.

Dinner will be eggs on toast and we are still on cat watch but she is running around like normal and we think she broke the snakes back and punctured it's heart too with her bites. I think as she was wild for a while that she has definitely killed snakes before and knows how to do it without being bitten.

Here is the picture of an Eastern Brown snake and it's description from Wikipedia -

eastern brown snake.jpg

The eastern brown snake (Pseudonaja textilis), often referred to as the common brown snake, is an extremely venomous snake of the family Elapidae, native to eastern and central Australia and southern New Guinea. Considered the world's second-most venomous land snake after the Inland Taipan and based on its LD50 value (subcutaneous) in mice, it is responsible for about 60% of snake-bite deaths in Australia.[a] First described by André Marie Constant Duméril in 1854, the adult eastern brown snake is a slender snake up to 2 m (7 ft) long with variable upperparts that can be various shades of brown, ranging from pale brown to almost black. Its underside is pale cream-yellow, often with orange or grey splotches.

The eastern brown snake is found in most habitats except dense forests. It has become more common in farmland and on the outskirts of urban areas, benefitting from agriculture due to the increased numbers of its main prey, the introduced house mouse. The species is oviparous. The snake is considered to be a least-concern species according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), though its status in New Guinea is not well known.

Our four cats were all siblings...3 male, 1 female. They sleep in the garage, where the bulk of our food storage is kept. It's on the north side of our house, so it stays decent in hot and cold weather. Those 4 would keep all mice at bay and any small snakes that got in from the bottom or side cracks of the garage door. We have an extra fridge out there with a big rug in front of it, and they would line up any kill on the rug. Never anything poisonous, though, we don't have many of those on our property. Last year, just a number of whip snakes and a few bull snakes.
Good job, Tabitha!
