Round 2 of today is that we washed the dishes cleaned the benches and I wiped the dishes and put them away. We then chopped up the capsicums we purchased on special to make 6 more meal sized portions for the freezer and then packed the rump steak and champagne leg ham into meal sized portions for the freezer. Followed up by nice warm showers and just about to hit the hay for the night.

@Bacpacker prayers for you from both DH and I to have a good outcome with your back. DH has a bulging/crushed L5S1 so I know the pain you are going through. Prayers also for your husband too @Meerkat and also look into regular physiotherapy for him also.

DH had physiotherapy on his today and is going regularly two weekly sessions and then once a month. Tens machines work for some but with physiotherapy they have something similar to a tens machine but works on a different frequency to maintain the blood flow around the damaged area. They also use reflexology for pressure points to relieve the pain too and massage helps immensely. Well worth looking into regular physiotherapy and if you have some arnica cream (we use brauers) rub that into your back and legs when you get the radiating pain that ineveitably comes with these types of injuries. This cream sort of numbs the area naturally with herbs and then reapply when it wears off every 2 - 3 hours, try it as it doesn't work for everyone. Also high doses of magnesium and calcium also help with the muscle spasms that cause pain so worthwhile discussing this type of natural pain relief too and the doctor would recommend which doses for you to take for your particular problem. DH was prescribed 1000mg of magnesium and and one 600mg calcium tablet per day.

There are lots of alternative therapies to having surgery so discuss all options with your doctor. Pain medications such as Stellax or Baclofen also are good which stops the muscle spasms and there are others as well. Look also into core back braces to support your lower back when doing physical work as they are good too and can be specifically ordered through your physiotherapist to make sure you get the right size and fit.

I hope this helps you and do discuss the options above with your doctor and get prescribed what is right for you personally but this will give you some alternatives.

It is time for more PT H wears his brace but still in pain most of the time. So am I my neck never stops hurting but not as dad as his back, been that way for decades. On trips it really hurts so bad I get tears on my cheeks. He rubs my neck and that helps some.
Guess most of us deal with something as we age. So far aspirin helps me alot. He likes Alieve and Ben Gay, will have to try seme of that rub you mentioned.

Went through the -too small clothes- in closet today. (They all fit now). Have 2 more smaller Walmart size bags of too big clothes to go to thrift store and a couple pair of shoes.

Going to Dollar General in a bit for tissue paper for eBay wrapping.

Making jalapeno popper stuffed chicken breasts a little later this afternoon with some frozen vegetable or other.

Last night at the big box store I picked up some more herbs. I grabbed a couple of 1x10's 6ft long for shelfs on the porch. I picked up a couple spray cans of quick drying polyurethane and gave the boards a couple of coats. Even had time to change the oil in my truck.

Today was our sealing wedding anniversary and my birthday (counting backwards now :D) so we decided to treat ourselves to a good lunch of rump steak and or veges/salad and chips at the RSL club in the large town about 40 mins one way drive from us and had a great time.

While in town we knew we were out of a few medical supplies so picked those all up on special and topped up on vegetable oils, body wash and some packets of mints at Aldi too. We also picked up a larger battery powered drill, batteries and charger to do the more heavy duty work here around the property.

About to juice some oranges so we can have some fresh orange juice for the next couple of days with lunches.

Thank you @WVDragonlady.

Rather confusing in our religion we have what is a wedding sealing day where you are sealed together for eternity in the temple which we celebrate on that date being May 1 and as we were married civilly and not in the temple we also have our civil union wedding anniversary also in August. Technically we get to celebrate our wedding twice a year instead of once.

I'm off work today. Plan to go to the grocery this morning and pick up the sales. Have a 10% off from Tractor Supply, need to get feed. House to clean. Our youngest daughter's pinning ceremony for her last year in Pharmacy is early evening. Need to go pick up some flowers for her, and leave early for that. Traffic will be terrible that time of the day, and it's a ways away. Thinking I'll need to leave about 2 hours ahead.

Happy anniversary and BDay.

Congrats to the daughter.

Not sure what will do today yet.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL. Advance good morning to Sewing and other's on the other side of the pond.

I planted some more veggies and some of my herbs. Have some more to do in the next day or so and then I'll be finished. Weather front moved in last evening and stalled until tonight some time so my joints were/are singing today. I just took it easy today really

In the last few weeks on the weekends, I've planted 3 honeyberrys, 3 thronless blackberries, 5 hazelnut trees, one more cherry, 2 peach and one nectarine, 3 elderberry bushes and 6 blueberrys and bought 5 turkey babies who are stinking up my back room..lol. I cant wait to be able to get them outside but the nights are still cold and they are not completely feathererd out yet. This weekend , during the da should be nice enough to let them outside in my extra dog kennel for sun and romping about but at night they gotta come inside. Inbetween all this I have been digging fence post holes, fencing, mowing and all the this and that's spring cleaning and tiding up that needs to be done once the snow is gone.
The hills are green with purple and yellow flowers everywhere here and in the distance still snow covered mountain tops..it is beautiful … :)

It' been a pretty quite day here today.
Next row Thunderstorms, just started.
Will be busy tomorrow going to have 2 little girls helping Granny make and roll out biscuits.
Youngest one(grand daughter) will be in her highchair, son's lady's youngest daughter will be standing on 1 of my kitchen chairs at the table.
They wanted to play at Granny's house today, but I had other plans.
So they can help me roll out biscuits tomorrow.
I'll use my big rolling pin and they can use 2 of my toy rolling pins.
After everybody leaves I'll make up my pie crust for cobbler(Apple-Raisin) deep dish cobbler.
Will need that by Friday.
If I was Strawberry I'd hide, but she'll be underfoot too.
We'll have to make enough biscuits for the 2 older kids to have some when they get out of school that day.
My garden looks good, hopefully we won't get anymore hail like we did last week.
Suppose to rain for the next several days.
Go figure, suppose to help out in booth at local festival Noon- 2 is my shift.
It almost always rains.
All I'm suppose to do is sit there and work on my crochet blanket/scarf/shawl.
It all depends on size when I run out of thread as to what it will be. lol...lol...
Right now I'm shooting for table runner but we'll see.
Will post pictures of it when done.
It will take a bit to clean up after the two little girls leave.
But I should be tired I hope.
Sewing, Happy belated birthday and anniversity.

Today was all about yard work as our potted flowers were starting to get root bound. We dug out half of the soil in two garden beds and replaced it with well rotted cow and horse manure and shovelled that through and raked it all out evenly. We then planted the calla lilies at the back of a garden bed near the septic tank and at the front planted spider plants. Around the side of the house we planted hot shot canna lilies in both yellow and orange.

DH then mowed the front and side of the house with the self propelled hand mower and I put all the grass clippings which were very dry in both the garden beds where we had planted the calla, canna and spider plants for mulch. I then put on a load of washing and hung it out while DH was mowing with the rideon and raked out some grass mulch we did from the previous mowing in the garden beds and swept the paths out the front, side and the cement near the back patio area. I also swept the kitchen floor as we had both trod in some dirt from outside.

Got the second load of washing going which will be finished shortly and DH will hang it on the clothes line to dry.

Tonight's dinner was homemade chicken, capsicum, tomato and cheese pizza and dessert was yummy icecream.

Yesterday, went to Walmart and one local market for stock up and sales. Washed sheets and comforter. Played in garden.

Today, will make cauliflower rice and cauliflower tortillas, make burrito filling (with my canned taco meat) for DH. Pay rest of bills and vacuum out my jeep. Should keep me busy!

Took care of the many babies in brooders all over the front rooms. Cooked a turkey this morning, then went to work. Babies are still hatching. Hatched my first Jungle Fowl. It's very cute. Need to get dinner out, but it'll be easy since I already cooked the turkey. Just noticed another season of The Colony is ready to watch.
