@LadyLocust are you referring to morels, the spongy looking incredibly edible delicious mushrooms that look like they're from another universe?
Are they so plentiful you can gather a paper bag full? My husband's family used to do that in northern Michigan.
If you go up to the cabin, maybe you'd find some up there?

Well, my oldest son and grand daughter have moved into their new apartment.
I took 2.5 carloads of his clothes over to the new place.
I small box of the grand daughter's clothes.
My place sure is quite.
He just has a few odds and ends to pick up tomorrow.
A table lamp, small box of something.
Few groceries out of my pantry.
Tomorrow he and grand daughter are going grocery shopping.
That ought to be fun.
Now comes the fun part finding furniture for the new place.
My place looks and feels so much larger.
I'm pretty tired so I will call it an early night.
Wonder how long it will take me and Strawberry to get used to the quite again.

What I did today:

I haven't watched a movie in some time. So, I saw this one advertised on Amazon - free with Prime membership. "47 Meters Down: Uncaged". Now I remember why I don't watch movies. What a train wreck. But I couldn't stop watching it, it was so bad.

What's worse than screaming teenage girls? Screaming teenage girls SCUBA diving. In a cave. With sharks. Because they were teenage girls (which requires screaming), they had to use some kind of special mask that allowed them to scream. Underwater. But I learned something new: I never knew Great Whites traveled in herds. In caves. I am much more knowledgeable about these things now, after seeing this show.

Today I begin some OPSEC preparations. This spring we are putting in a new central air unit and having our furnace cleaned & inspected. The utility room exists between the man cave and storage room and has some preps and other related items stored in it. They are coming Monday to give us a final quote so I need to remove the preps, conceal the man cave entrance, add a couple more internal cameras, and make sure they won't see or have access to anywhere I don't want them to be. We have used this company before and they know I have specific requirements like only long term vetted staff, no trainees, no problematic or troubled employees, etc. They also know they will be closely monitored the whole time they are here and not to try and pet the rotties.

Otherwise it's just going to be a normal Saturday. Well a normal pandemic socially distant Saturday.

If memory serves me thats s true story. We watched it too. It was ok but like most recent movies too dramatic ,reason why we mostly watch bio's or old movie re-runs.
Man In The Chair was pretty good for a recent movie.

Went out early to check on Doogan.
I had screwed 2 of those hospital dish tubs , you get to bring home, ( got tons of em in garage) to the bottom board of pen so he wouldn't turn them over. Then dropped another one in the screwed one for removing to clean. Good idea huh?
So that's 4 right?
Well , I went out early , he was barking and glad to see me.
One tub was totally destroyed, the other 3 had to be found.
Way to start huh? He is still a pup. Be looking for metal pans for food and water.

I have other plans for today.

Tomatoes , peppers and flowers to see out.
Acclamate and exercise Doogan.
Figure out a good and water feeder for Jaws.

We'll see how these plans work out.

It is a for real Saturday ....right?

Jim

We learned years ago never have just one dog or one cat.
Jim the dogis lonely and needs a friend.

I was going to warn you but let's see where we are in 13 days. @phideaux
Those rubber Kong toys hold up well for some. Maybe an ox bone, he'll probably destroy them one a day. Tennis balls would tear his tummy up after a half dozen of them.
One of our pups destroyed the low cabinet corners and a few chairs. So maybe some good hardwoods. He'll get through the chewing phase, he's still teething maybe or bored. Throwing a good sturdy ball for him to retrieve will wear him out too. I used to do that with our current dog. Whatever works.

They get bored with just one thing to destroy, it needs somebody to play with.

So word of advice would be that if you adopt a dog and have no others, adopt two. Sounds like a barrel of monkeys to me!
Our dog is about 8 yrs old and she still acts like a young 'un. Lots of energy, lots of bark, and she and the cat still have it out for each other. Lol

Listening to the quite.
Strawberry has waken the neighborhood this morning.
She treed a cat.
Myself and immediate neighbors were laughing when battle ax crazier than loon neighbor showed up with broom, to hit Strawberry with for barking. Seems the cat belongs to bat **** crazy neighbor, so she will be turned in Monday morning(not by me) but the other neighbors. Down here in my apartment complex we have lease ordinance, no pets just let loose.
Told bat **** crazy neighbor if she hit Strawberry with that broom, police officers wouldn't recognize her.
She lives clear on the other side of the complex. Between me and her apartments there are 9 dogs, 6 cats, 3 birds, 4 hamsters or gerbils.
And all the dogs were barking this morning, as her cat strolled by, but she zeros in on Strawberry's bark. Right.
But she's friends with my next door neighbor whom is also bat **** hoarder crazy. And the next door neighbor's dog was barking too.
Sipping coffee, at least the first pot.
Got the dehydrator going with sliced mushrooms this morning.
Will be sewing on masks for friend, crocheting on Christmas blanket, cross stitching on quilt top.
Hopefully will fixing tacos for supper.

Patch lets not forget that every-body 'including dogs'needs somebody, and surely the blues man Jim should know this.:D
Good song to start the morning off too,

Strawberry is still available.
Strawberry is 5 years old.
Fixed female, up to date with shots.
She will need her nails trimmed in June when she gets her yearly check up.
Strawberry is beagle/jack russell mix.

I wish I could get her from you. She would enjoy my grandkids and big dog.

Strawberry is no longer considered a service dog?

Well , heres the deal.i spent several hours with him yesterday
He did his destruction at night.
Iw I'll spend lots of time with him and have given hei toys and other stuff to destroy at his will.
Today I got his feed BOX built and attached to building. I got a stainless steel watering tub attached to bottom fence board.

I took him out on leash for about an hour , call him with hand out (I'm on golf cart) he comes right away gets a treat.
Soooo I take him out in back pasture, fenced in, turn him loose.
He runs in circles for 20 minutes , stays 100 ft out from me.
I call hold out my hand , he looks at me , keeps going. Tried a few more times , nope ain't coming.
So I just park and watch Jim run. About 20 minutes , he comes over sits down beside golf cart. I reach down, snap on leash , he heads back to the pen.
Drinks some water , and lays down.
Once I can trust him to obey me better, I'll stop with the leash.
2 dogs is out of the question. 2 may be too much
I will spend , I should say , he will spend lots of time with us, as we are outside a lot, once we confident he has adapted.

Here's his pen.
29'x50' with big old shed .

Nice pen he can stretch his legs in. I understand Jim 2 are more than one.

Went grocery shopping this morning--5 different stores. 3 weeks ago eggs were 5 dozen for $4.84 at Walmart. This week $5.82. Pretty big jump in 3 weeks. No hand sanitizer anywhere. I wanted to get one for DH's car. Guess I will make one. Got home and disinfected and put everything away.
Went for my walk
Took eBay photos for 8 drafts I wrote over the last few days.
Think I'm about done for a while.

Wow, Snappy. Five stores with all the masks and gloves junk would drive me buggy. We went three different places and it was enough for awhile. Went to the post office, got our mail and neighbor's mail. Two trips to the car with it. Lots of boxes. Then to UHaul for boxes, packaging material, and tape. Ordered online, paid online, so just had them load it all. Then to Big Lots. Snacky stuff and milk. Had a $15 off coupon. No pasta, rice, flour, or much in the way of baking items at all. Just almond flour. I don't need flour, but wondering when/if they are restocking. Husband wanted fig newtons and chocolate wafer cookies, and that, they had. Grandson is cleaning windows today, working off a lying mouth and a bad attitude.

Mo, sorry to hear about your crazy neighbor. I'd be mad if someone tried to hit my dog with a broom. I don't think I could handle apartment living again. I don't like being so close to other people.
Jim, I hope Doogan learns to mind better. It seems like he's got a lot of pent up energy. Dog Whisperer guy says dogs like that need a job. Something specific to do to burn the energy every day. Maybe you can figure something out though. Looks like he's got a nice sized pen though. I'm glad you're working with him & trying to get him settled. Some people don't have any patience with animals.
Mom woke me up over something asinine last night & I had trouble getting back to sleep. Slept until almost 4pm & vision is still blurry. Having to do a lot of blinking to read. Tomorrow I need to go to Walmart to pick up my thyroid meds & then go to Samsclub to get water & cat food as well as some frozen stuff Mom likes. Some kind of Jimmy Dean breakfast delights or something. Tuesday is her 70th birthday so I'll have to figure out something for her birthday-- maybe order some cupcakes or a cake.
My dog, Princess, has pulled a bunch of blankets & pillows off of my bed & made a tall pile almost as high as the bed. She crawls off the side of the bed into the pile & keeps trying to take my remaining blanket with her. She must have realized I was talking about her because she just walked over to sit next to my leg. I think she wants to go to the living room soon.

What a train wreck. But I couldn't stop watching it, it was so bad.

That happened to me in the last week, a movie so bad I couldn't stop watching...

I don't even remember the movie now. You have that to look forward too, they don't leave a scar... just an itchy rash thats gone in a couple of days... 😟

I spent about 3 hours working on the chicken pen. It's ready for the peeps now, still needs a little work but it is secure. Just resting this evening.

This morning was eventful. Dad was trying to get out of his wheel chair and slide into a recliner... somehow he kept sliding... all the way to the floor. He couldn't get back up. Mom, trying to help somehow sat down on a very low stool. She couldn't get up either. I had to call a cousin to come help me!

No one was injured so I guess it's all good except their pride. I couldn't help but laugh! It was sooo comical! 🤣

Placed an order from home, went out to a store where I picked up curbside a tool I needed for working on a project. Then went to a nursery, while it wasn't packed, there were still a lot of people there and it is obvious Texas is antsy to get back to living via gardening and outdoor chores. Half the folks were wearing masks, I forgot mine. I skedaddled back home.

Pulled the roller all over my yard , front and back. Around fruit trees and pond. It needed it badly.

Took old Doogan out for another run, he must have been tired , he jumped on the golf cart and rode mostly, but did run some.
Looks like I broke him from jumping up on me.
He don't even try anymore. He didn't like them back toes being stepped on. Smart dog.

Checked my mater bed ,
Not as dry as I would like , but it shoveled up ok .
I got my mater's and peppers set out.
They were getting root bound, and we are suppose to get rain tomorrow.

Guess plans worked after all.
Productive day.

Jim

Strawberry is no longer considered a service dog?
Strawberry has developed several habits that has disqualified her as an Active Service Dog.
She jumps on me, has knocked me down several times which resulted in injuries.
She barks, what they consider excessively.
Service dogs are only supposed to bark when I'm in trouble.
She loves kids.

How old is Doogan? If this is the first time he is separated from his mother and litter, he probably has a lot of anxiety. Young dogs do a lot of chewing, so he will destroy anything he can that way.

I used to walk Crosby a lot when she was young. Part of it had to do with her diuretic medication. We would go out and she would do her business and 10 minutes later needed to go again. It was because of her need for so much time out and so much exercise that we started going to the dog park. She also needed the stimulus. I would be exhausted from her needs otherwise.

Best laid plans didn't happen today.
Didn't get to work on cross stitch quilt top, nor sew on masks, or get to take a nap either.
Did get to make tacos though with help from grand daughter.
Had the grand daughter while her dad found furniture for his apartment.
He has just about everything but entertainment center.
Different family members came up things they wanted to get rid of, so they gave it to him.
One cousin gave him dresser and night stand for his bedroom.
I gave table lamps for the living room, bedside lamps for his bedroom.
Uncle is giving him table and two chairs for the kitchen.
My dad gave him a dresser for grand daughter's room.
Another cousin gave him couch and love seat out of their family room.
I gave him, my grandmother's pots and pans.
My dad gave him glasses, silverware, mixer, food processor.
I gave food stuff out of my pantry.
My youngest sister gave him bathroom stuff, mirror, several area rugs.
He still needs washer and dryer and the entertainment center.
But all in all, he's getting there.
I'm resting now, grand daughter is cutting all four molars at the same time.
I'm tired.

Made a trip to Lowes to buy some lumber. Parking lot was very full, turned around and went home. Repotted 9 tomato plants & 12 pepper plants. Watered all them in good, along with y other tomatos, peppers, onions, lettuce , & spinach. Mowed 1/2 the yard. Found the door knob on my shop is trashed. Gotta pick up a new one ASAP.
When I came inside tonight, wife had the TV on some movie. Figured out it was SnowWhite and the Huntsman. Never saw it before , but sort of reminded me of Lord of the Rings to some degree.. Mind you I only sa the last 20 minutes or so. I missed the entire gist of the movie starting that late.
