Sitting here trying to stay warm, I can feel the weather changing, I suspect we're going to get some rain, typical spring for around here, a string of comforting warm sunny days and then comes a cloudy cool day and my body thinks winter has returned. Anyway, my dear friends have totally cleaned out all the grass and weeds from our fenced garden area and I installed a hose bib by the entrance gate from the 1,100 gallon water tank, witch is now full from the spring overflow, anyway we're all getting excited to get the garden all planted and already have four blueberry plants, four potato hills and some bunching onions in the ground. My wife finally found the heirloom Belgian Giant tomato seeds, now to get some of those started. After I get a bite to eat I'm probably going to order an Alexapure water filter to have on hand, basically most all of our preps are pretty much taken care of and all that's left is to fill in any gaps that may be there. One way or another my wife and I have been doing some kind of prepping ever since we got married back in April 1974, an amazing 46 years ago. Like the poster I saw in a dentists office years ago said, "If I had known I'd have lived this long, I'd have taken better care of my teeth."

Isn't that the truth espcially now that we can't see a dentist.I thought I had plenty of time to make appt. now no telling when I can get my teeth checked. I still have 2 wisdom teeth and don't want one of those to get bad. Thye can be a real hassel to pull. Thatdentist all but stood in my lap with the last one.And he was too cheap to use enough novacane. Bet that won't happen again!

Today the Amazon groceries finally came.We ordered them about 4 weeks ago or longer. Big box of nuts mostly got it all bleached and dried out [ if the virus don't get us I'm afraid the bleach will] .
Its hard to order online,I thought I was orderign 2 cans of Folgers coffee, well it was two 6 packs so good on coffee for nexr few years.
Then they send all three cans of mixed nuts plus walnuts and peanuts.I've never seen a can of mixed nuts this big,got two of them! it has to be for bars or big parties.
I get mad at myself for not going over it better. Also got 40 small bags of peanuts and two large bags of walnuts.
Hubby said stay away from me ' your going to be nuts and wired '. Haha.
I did get a couple boxes of nutrucian bars, guess what they have in them?
$143.00 worth

I’d intended to leave the peeps in the main pen tonight. The coop has a dirt floor. Its on a slight slope on purpose so it’s self-cleaning with rains. I took a shovel down there around 6, going to level up the floor and put down 1/2 a bag of fresh wood chips.

It’s just too wet. It rained over 5 inches yesterday, any chips I put down would be soggy in a couple of hours. At 7 weeks most of the peeps would sleep on the ground. It’ll only go down to 53 tonight but everything is sooo damp. The feeder is set to high for them as well as the water tank.

It only took me a couple of minutes to catch all 12 and put them in the pet carrier. They can stay on the porch again tonight. In the morning I’ll take them back to the pen, adjust the height of the feeder etc. Another morning of bright sunshine and the coop floor will be much dryer, ready to level for wood chips.

Went to the grocery store to get some essentials. Brother came with me & helped. Got more dog food that was finally back in stock. My brother did most of the heavy lifting and brought in most of the stuff from the car. We popped in to check on our friend in town & see the new kittens. They are adorable. I think we may have to adopt a couple of them. There's one that is solid black with white feet and another one that is all black- those would be the two we'd probably bring home. If they stay with my friend the'll probably end up getting run over.

I was supposed to bring something over to my friend's house but forgot it at home. I'll have to bring it another day. We're planning some more modifications to his house to fix it up better.

Got two rotisserie chickens & pulled all the meat off the bones to bag it for later. Mom will probably want me to cook her something.

Got a problem with our phoneline-- not sure what it is. No dialtone, can't receive or make calls. No phone seems to be off the hook & the phone isn't saying to check the line so I don't know what the problem is. I'm going to have to see if anything is wrong with the base unit.. Will have to pull it off the wall & mess with the cord to see if there's anything wrong with it. If I can't figure it out, I'll have my friend come look at it.

Worked outside yesterday which was wonderful! Got a few more things planted- so tempting in nice weather but it’s supposed to be cold Wednesday. And I know better. It’s only April. Trying to catch up here. Have been on the run.

LadyL I wanted to get i nthe yard today while its still fairly cool. Justdidn't feel liek doing much.fall and tand to what few things we can grow here in the summer.
Glad you got some planting done we ar mostly trying to set up for fall.

This morning was a job of work that's for certain.

Shifted a few of my surviving rare herbs, whipper snipped, moved 3 reo mesh panels out to the front garden and lent them against the house ready to build another tomato trellis.
Ans then I had to remove 3 star pickets ( T posts) that have been in the ground for a number of years without a levered post puller.
I really really don't want to do THAT again.
I am utterly beat.
I have a chore list as long as my arm and the spirit is willing....but....the body is giving me the blue screen of death. ( a little Windows humor).

Now you take care of you. You are the only you we have 😊

Got the Sams order picked up this evening, and no meat on the order. Said they were out of what was requested and out of spaghetti. So I put the order in the bed of the truck. Husband waits in the truck, Went back in the store and grabbed a cart. Closing in 1/2 hr and just a few people in there. Got a pkg of chicken (limit 1) and a beef roast. They had tp, but didn't need any. Got a 25 lb bag of bread flour and 50 lbs of rice. Our chickens love cooked rice mixed with sprouted sunflower, so this bag's for them. Weird how you order online, they make you wait 4 to 5 days for pickup, don't have everything, and can find other stuff not listed in the store. Lots of bare shelves still.

Talked granddaughters into packing the DVD's. I wrapped up and boxed the dishware in the china cabinet. Lots of bubble wrap. Had great barbeque tri tip tonight. We have a wall of boxes in our front room.
The funny bit is you go through things and get rid of stuff as you’re packing. Then it’s packed for a couple months and as you unpack, you wonder why on earth you packed certain things and get rid of more 😂
@MoBookworm1957 Maybe now that they are in their own place, you will get a little more down time.
@Patchouli You crack me up. Id give ya a hug if you lived next door. Sometimes we live how we wish and other times we wish we could live another way. Take a breath- tomorrow will be kinder.
@Peanut I’ve seen people pack their teacup yorkies with them, but I’d like to see you packing your peeps around and back and forth 😂. That’s good of you though. Also, did I miss something? Is your dad home?
@phideaux Glad Doogan doggy is doing well with you. He looks like a kind dog which is nice.
@Spikedriver Yay! You got to see your daughter and get out in the fresh air. Bet that was a nice day!
I know I’m forgetting to respond to half of what I’ve read. Y’all hang in there.

I actually went back outside, cleared the gutters (yes, on a ladder), worked on the flower beds some more, found another bebe snek, a nice sized toad, then my minions announced dinner was ready. I must have done something right for them to fix me dinner.
Tomorrow I hope I'll get stuff planted and Wednesday it is supposed to rain.
Off work all week, woo hoo. :lil guy:

Sipping coffee.
Going to grand daughter's mom house with travel mug of coffee.
What is wrong with the younger generation.
They don't drink straight up black coffee.
Too gross! Their words not mine.
I think Chai tea Latte coffee is gross, too sweet.
Too each there own I guess.
Strawberry is still snoring.
Will be going waiting on Internet guy to show up.
So will be taking coffee and working on crocheting blanket for Christmas while waiting.
Friday son'e Internet will be connected.
But he'll be home.

I started drinking coffee when I was six years old. I started out with lots of milk and sugar, probably more than coffee. As I grew older I left the sugar out and cut back on the milk, eventually switched out to half and half. There is an acidic bite to coffee that I don't care for, so a little dairy works for me, preferably half and half.

I make Chai tea, but I do not add sugar. You can buy pre-made chai that is so sweet. I make chai tea from spices and black tea. I used to make it by the gallons, but only make it occasionally now.

I'm seeing more stuff I don't want and don't want to pack. Those pods are $2200 a piece, so things needs to matter. Problem is, Goodwill and Savers are closed. I guess I could be rude and drop junk off anyway. I did put a junky shelf out front, marked it free, and it disappeared.
Goodwill here is accepting donations, but their stores are not open. There are many people cleaning stuff out now that they are home.

Are you having your household moved in pods? It would be a great way to get it done.

Going to see the heart doc today. Was supposed to see that quack 2 weeks after getting out of the hospital but they kept pushing back. She did not even come visit me in the hospital she works out of.

Good luck man.

When I had the last knee done, some quack cardiologist stopped in my room for 2 min,
Got a bill for $256 , told him to screw himself.

Ours are all closed. I’m just making a stack in the summer kitchen that keeps growing 🥴

Brought the grand daughter home with me for a few hours today.
It wasn't a good visit today.
Granny got some extra steps in today.
Grand daughter fell down running.
She sat in dog poop(fresh) pouting.
Granny got tickled.
We came in house to get her cleaned up.
She pinched her finger in closet door.
She actually got to put purple star sticker on calender today.
She dropped her pull ups because had to change the jeans because of the dog poop incident.
She actually peed in the potty.
Took picture and sent it to daddy, Aunt Sissy, mom, big sister.
Nobody can get mommy on potty training train with the rest of us.
I'm thinking about a much needed nap.
Got my grocery order in at Wmt. com for pick up Friday at 8-9 am.
Wal*Mart in my area is now issuing masks to associates while working.
Sipping coffee still.
Listening to the quite.

First thing, I walked this morning.

Went to Lowe's for garden stakes. DH decided to ride along and saw a thrift shop open and I dropped him off with a mask. (He used sanitizer before he got back in car).

Came home and went through 3 totes in laundry room. Two had soap making equipment and third had eBay clothes no yet listed so I put them in a dresser for --next up listings. Combined the soap equipment into one tote and took all of them out to the concrete shed.

Folded up my electric blanket for the year and put away and washed the clothes that DH got from thrift store.

Had a salad for lunch and will have crazy crust pizza for dinner--it's pretty good, not great.

I've decided to make the pickled shrimp into a shrimp veggie stir fry. Just don't care for them pickled so will try changing them up!

I have appealed property taxes before, with no luck! We do get senior citizen discounts on property taxes here, so I suppose I should be grateful for that. It reduces property taxes by half.

I am so grateful that I paid my property taxes in January. They were due at the end of February, or at least half a payment was. I paid it in full. I am not short on money, but it is peace of mind to have that out of the way. I am wondering how many people did or didn't pay their taxes, and what will happen to those who don't? They will probably have someone else pay them and the lien process will begin.
