Bored is better than stressed, Phideaux. Glad it went well today.
Husband has a urology appt today, and there was a Guns and Ammo mag in the room to read. Thought that was funny. Wouldn't see that in New Mexico. Ha.
Went to Aldi's and got a cart full. Took forever to take it away. Didn't get half the stuff done today I should of done, but oh well. Husband is napping in the recliner, and I'll need to start dinner soon. Did two loads and laundry, hung it out and it's done. Supposed to go to a 9am coffee break at my cousins in the morning, I think. I didn't bake anything to bring, but I do have some bacon in the freezer I could cook and bring. We're getting together at the coffee break with my cousin who is a new widow. He is having a really hard time right now. I know he likes bacon.

Bacon will lift any man's spirits!

Nothing more important here than what your doing there. I mean it's just silly stuff here. Like, the Governor of Nevada forbade me from going to the Presidents rally in Minden, but I ignored that & went anyway. I knew I couldn't get in, but that was okay, just standing outside with a few thousand people that couldn't get in either, and giving him a wave as he went by was good enough. We do our best.

Then yesterday I got a jury summons in the mail to report to a court that isn't even open, or else. They demanded a good reason as to why I might not show up. I just wrote back, "I won't be reporting because court is closed". Like I said, silly stuff here.

So, I'll be with you in Spirit, which is pretty much what I'd be even if I was there of the bench with you. You've got my best either way.

Jim, I hope your wife gets better. I pray that this time they were able to address all her problems.

Today went well, the wife made a wacky cake for a friend who has a birthday tomorrow. After work I took her to get her hair done, we did get my ears lowered at the same time. While they were finishing the wife up, I slipped out to pick up some meds, and a card for her friend, afterward we delivered the cake and card (Wife couldn't get out of the truck because of the steps to their house). The wife feels good that she could help brighten someone's day, the family called her before we got home, they ate the whole cake!!!

For Supper, we had split pea soup (1 part paste from yesterday, 2 parts water ;) ) and corn bread, it tasted better today than it did yesterday.

A person who I have worked with for almost 20 years told me this afternoon that they were retiring and moving to be closer to their grandchildren. I'm glad that they are looking forward to some quality retirement years. But I am sad, it seems everyday high quality people are leaving and there is no corporate memory or knowledge in the replacement pool, self important college kids with no real world experience driven by idealistic illusions.

Let me take time to thank all of for your thoughts and prayers for us thru this .
Also thanks to all of yall for keeping me company , which really helped , because no one else was allowed to be there. Normally friends and family gathers for a surgery and visits with each other...y'all were here for me.

Thanks.

I'm home, and totally exhausted.
She's sleeping.

Jim

Glad your home safe Jim. Glad she's sleeping well.

I had a vendor on site today and they delivered all the units for 3 buildings. The last 2 on short notice to beat the end of the FY. While here they went thru with me and 2 of my techs doing signal strength test in various parts of 2 levels of the building. Before test had a lot of dead spots thruout. After test with both floors being powered had zero dead areas. After testing with only the battery backed up unit running on batteries, we only found 1 dead area. Batteries will give 12 hour back up and are hot swappable if need be.
While testing we notice a lower signal strength of -10 or so dB than expected. Also while testing we started seeing the signal go up and down. Talking with one of my techs, we had been seeing a lower level strength at the new fire department. After discussions with the management we are meeting tomorrow to figure out what is going on. It seems we may have a repeater having issues. When we get that solved, we are going to run the testing again to see how the numbers compare with today.
Fire department and security will be happy with the outcome. Last major project I had to complete this FY. So glad to have that behind us.

Next time you're stuck somewhere and bored, set up a Zoom video chat! It might be interesting to see how many of us could make it on short notice on the forum. I'm not always on, but usually have a browser window open the forums, even if I'm not at my computer.

Mother went thru the procedure in good shape. No blockages at all. Was in recovery doing well then her BP dropped to 40s over 30s all at once. Ran my dad out of the room and Dr are trying to figure out what's going on. Please offer up another prayer for them. Talkin with my dad he is more upset than I can ever recall. Hospital won't let me in to be with him either.
BP blessings to your mom and family! I totally understand what you feel in the way of not being allowed to be there. In 24 days of hospitalization, my mom was allowed to visit one day for a few hours and me not at all. As I type this, my dad is in and should be finishing another “procedure.” I awoke at 3:30 this morning- we are slammed at work and will be waiting to hear.
Jim blessings to both you and Mrs. I sure pray this solves it for her!

too busy these days.
Hospital experiences since COVID19: Had a family member in hospital over the summer. I was allowed to stay with young patient the whole time up until patient was taken away for procedure/surgery. Kicked patient out within 3 hours after surgery.
:confused2: poor thing.

Anyway, changes bring tears and fears, but hoping for better days. Changes also bring challenges we don't necessarily want to go through or face. Things can't stay the same forever.
 Some flowers for whoever needs them. :gardening:

Spent most of Wednesday morning on the phone with Apple. Trying to resolve a problem with my iPhone. On charger all night, indicates it's 100% charged, use it for a minute and black screen of death (dead battery). Plug it into the power cord within a few minutes it's alive and 100% charged. Leave it plugged into power and phone stays powered, no black screen of death.

First Tech agreed with me the battery needs to be replaced. Tech sent me a link on which Apple stores could replace the battery. The only store in my half of the State is closed because of the China Flu. Can I mail it in? Tech gave me a number that would assist me in returning my phone.

Calling the number I get another Tech. I explain what was going on...Tech wanted to check a few other things first. I grant him remote access...battery looked good...turned off a power option. Unplugged my phone from the power and we talked for several minutes. No black screen of death! Tech said try it and if the problem returns then set the phone back to factory default (he sent me the how to link) and then restore my Apps from iCloud backup.

Black screen of death is back. Phone is 1 1/2 years old. I've discovered the if I'm on a call there is no issues with the battery, only when I'm browsing or click on APPS. Perhaps it is a software problem after all?

Spent most of the afternoon resetting my phone back to factory default. This over writes the phone's software. Then I used my recent backup to load my APPs and settings. Still the black screen of death.

Slept on it and decided to replace my iPhone with their SE model for $400.

We’ve had similar problems over the years a time or two and the only way around it was not using the backup which saved whatever it was that went wrong in the software. Starting from scratch was the only way. Even getting a new phone and using the backup caused the new phone to have the same problem. Hope you don’t have to do that.

Started off with phone to daughte ,all seems fine consideirng.
