All battery tools as well as UPS and test equipment go into Faraday cages. Top off all fuel if possible. Switch from the electric water to the gas fired heater.

Pretty good. If time permits, move old water heater from The Ridge to my shop.

#1: Various internet sites I monitor pretty regular.

2) Wife, Family, a handful of friends

3) Top off fuel supplies, Water tanks, LP bottles, maybe hit a small store and get any long term foods they have, and feed store

4) I try to maintain 75-80% or better. We've both had some illness the last month or better so things are down a little. Probably still 70% or so

5) For most part it would get real quite. Toward end of the week i'd expect folks from down near the lake to start walking out to try and find food. Bunch of higher rollers down there.

Bonus question: I'd be planting any kind of shorter season crop I could to boost food supplies TOMORROW and next several days. Hauling water from the lake, I could store nearly 1000 gallons and enough bleach to treat twice that. Cut down trees into firewood. But first thing would be to have my old H harness gear fully loaded and kept ready, along with a couple other set up in other places. Security and food just became job 1

4. do a little foraging and hunting in the next few weeks with a silencer and 22 mag target rifle.

5. Sit back at the end of the road and wait for the next victim.

Bonus, same place if the gubmint don't go crazy and kill us all.

Got a clear spring and a good bunch of electrical stuff that is EMP protected.

can't find the original questions but here are my answers as best as I can answer them

1. I check the weather first to see where the animals are going and what we are doing today

3. if there is chaos somewhere I will probably just stay home

5. grid down forever ? First, how will anyone know the grid is down for ever? I think around here, people would just go about their business as usual and assume it's a temporary power outage, happens all the time here, just this year it was out for almost a week

I have three apple trees and I am planning on picking up a small lime tree for inside. Maybe a lemon tree too. Does a heirloom tomato plant count?

1: off the top of my head, nasturtiums , borage, chives, violets, dandelion will see what else is out there.
2: foraging- pine is my number one! Mushrooms, elderberries and rosehips are a couple others.
3: apricots!
4: no tropical trees but I do have an olive tree which is Mediterranean
5: Right now 1 chicken- she is more of bug control, hasn’t started laying yet. Have had lambs, and chickens in past sorta recent years.

You can eat dandelions?

Yup. The greens are common in salad (even storebought) and the flowers are edible but I used to make jelly out of them. That was my son’s favorite.

The whole plant, but like a lot of wild plants, you want to mix & match.
Two much of a good thing can be bad.
You can make dandelions wine /beer out of the fresh flowers.

Dandelion root is also used for it's anti-cancer properties. I have made a tincture out of it before.

ETA: dandelion is also a dieuretic, which is a good thing to know if you're relying on it for sustinence as you wouldn't want to eat too much of it and get dehydrated.

Burdock for flour. Burdock is brown (ripe) and ready to harvest now. I see lots of it every day. I just need to put some plastic bins in my car along with some plant nippers and go drive to harvest some. I have learned that it is not something to try to pick or pull. You will lose the seeds from the seed heads that way and it is the seeds that you grind to make flour.

Have apples, peaches, and pears. I'd like to add cherries.

Lemon, lime and grapefruit.
