Been busy working here.
Our daughter moved back up from CA. Thank goodness. She’s enrolled in the community college, foregoing volleyball so that she can finish pre med classes.
We moved her into her apt in town today and then went to work on the root cellar. We are also trying to get our storage containers all organized. That’s been a mess.
Had a burst of rain here today which was nice and it hasn’t been too hot, so perfect for moving. Thankfully her stuff filled a studio apt and it wasn’t too bad to move her, not like our move out here!
I have 2 more days off before I have to go back to work, really needed more than 3 days off this time around.
I’m glad she’s back up here. She’s not even mine, but I’m still glad!

Hubby noticed there was no grass growing around it and thought it was dying so seeded without telling me 🤦‍♀️

When I was a kid a elderly neighbor lady went to the pastor and asked how to get a divorce. Demanded, she was furious!!! She was always working in the yard, one day she set out little flowers.

That afternoon her hubby was cutting the grass. He couldn’t hear well even without a lawnmower running. She went out yelling and trying to show him her little flowers. He thought she was pointing out places he missed… He couldn’t see to well either!!!
I guess he was lucky she wouldn’t let him keep a gun in the house!

52 days deep into this project so far...starting to look like something.....too bad I only have eight days to finish it...

I slept a lot yesterday. I didn’t feel very good. I was very tired and I don’t know why. But today I woke up (and got out of bed) at 7:30 which is pretty early for me, usually I get up around 8:30. So I made hubby a big breakfast. Two eggs over easy, two hash browns, toast, three pieces of bacon and a bagel with cream cheese and marmalade on it.

I know you showed us the trailer frame and said what this was for, but what's it for? (Pea brain syndrome I guess 🤪 ) It looks good though. Are you going to stain/seal it?

Cooking! No home rehab, that has been postponed again, lol... meh, I feel like spending some time in the kitchen, and the food I prepare will help feed me for the next week, aye? I mean with what leftovers are already in the fridge, lol... but this is a good time of year to stock the fridge with leftovers, cuts down on cooking at the hottest time of year. :)

I never did cook the spaghetti sauce yesterday, and that ground beef should be cooked soon, so that's what I'll be doing after I have a few beers, lol... I don't usually eat a lot of pasta during the summer, it's more of a seasonal dish for the rest of the year, but again, I have a hankerin' for some good chunky sauce with plenty of ground beef and veggies in it. Gonna add fresh onion, celery, sweet mini peppers & mushrooms to the sauce mix, as well as some sliced black olives (canned) and a little minced garlic (bottled). Seasonings to boot, and a little sugar too, lol. Not much sugar, just enough to improve the overall taste... many chefs use sugar in pasta sauce, it's a trade secret, lol. ;)

Another reason why I'm putting off the home rehab is that I felt tired this morning, despite a good 6 hours of sleep... I've been burning the candle at both ends with the early & late watering, plus I stayed up to read a book last night. Didn't finish it, but it was interesting enough to keep me going, ya know? It's a Western titled SAND, written by Will James and first published in 1929... I like older Westerns such as this, they were written back when memories of the Old West were still fairly fresh, yeah? I like the authentic older expressions used by characters in such novels, they smack of the Old West! I'll finish that book later today, might be another nap involved once I lie down to read (after macking pasta, lol). 😬

P.S. I'll be sure to make a nice green salad to go with the plate of pasta & sauce... the side salad doesn't have to be that large, but I like salad before and with pasta dishes. Aids in the digestion, don'tcha know? I'll be sure to take some pics for the dinner thread, though this meal will probably be the only one I eat today... skipped breakfast to stay hungry, lol. I still had fresh fruit juice this morning, that's standard in my routine. 😎

😘😘you are so sweet.
This time of year is hard - I want to be off doing fun stuff!
And I’m so glad she’s closer to home too. She’s living in the city, close to school but at least she can get to the property so much easier if need be.

Day 1 of my diet, I feel like I am dragging. But I did a lot of weed pulling this morning so that's part of it. Only fruit today. Tomorrow only veggies

The @#@$#!! truck is leaking brake fluid again, so back in the shop it goes. They better not charge us for it, it's only been a few weeks since we got it back and we drove it twice
It looks like one of the new calipers they installed is leaking a little. Hoping its not bad enough to have to call a tow truck again. Husband started painting rust stopper under it and noticed the leak.

Weather is nice, sunny around 80 but not very humid today.

better check/top off the fluid before you take it in.
He's going to drive it down our dirt road and back up and see how bad it leaks and if the brakes still work. If not he can use the emergency brake and we'll have it toed. What a bunch of crap, so sick of these vehicle problems. Sorry . Bet you all are getting tired of reading about it.....it's my curse I think LOL, my first ex was a car dealer

Its for camping, etc. I've outgrown the back of my truck.

Yes, all the wood is going to be finished.

Working on getting the wiring on both my truck and the trailer side working today. I think every previous owner wired in a trailer harness untop of the previous one.

Took the wife's Jeep in to the dealer today to get the 4 wheel drive system serviced @ $1200+, bought a battery for my welder and 4 wheeler @ $300 then took my weed whacker to the Dewalt dealer for repair. Now I'm just sitting out on the back deck with a big glass of ice water.
Don’t you be enjoying the view or anything like that 😉😁
It’s nuts how much things are costing! Hope everything is now running well.

We were all over the place today. Son took little granddaughter to swim lessons. I went to PT, then to get feed, then to mom's "care" meeting at the manor. Daughter took husband to his infectious disease appt. Then they came back, and son and daughter took our grandson's mattress and box spring to the dump. It was gross by the time he was done with it, don't ask. Son unloaded all the feed I bought for me. Neighbor (Brenda's mama) came over with a whole lot of sweet corn and cherry tomatoes. I gave her a bunch of yellow summer squash. Hung a bunch of fly bags after dinner. Son leaves on the 3 am train to go home, but daughter offered to take him. She leaves tomorrow morning, but flies out.

That sucks!! After them having it that long it should be right!!

Today is going to be a light day. Getting a couple more solar panels up. Inverters are already installed.
Will also fill a truck load of things to donate. I didn't realize we had so much more stuff we don't need.
Going to try and get a workout in later today. Hubs picked up an 18 hr shift overnight in the ER so he will be leaving around 3p, and I'm back to work in the morning.

Figured out I am going to have to hire an attorney for trial next month on my back child support case. Ex is playing games as per usual. Just hate that I am going to be out this money on what should be straightforward.

Laundry, then home rehab work IF I feel up to it... there really isn't that much left to do, but I've had a hard time dredging up motivation in this hot weather. Wish I'd started the project a little earlier in the year, but no worries, it shall be done... it just might not get done today, lol. We'll see how it goes, I still have plenty of time to finish the job this week. ;)

Some of my plants have been taking a beating in this heat, on top of the ongoing drought... it's like they can't get enough water, and the lack of appreciable rainfall is NOT helping. Meh, if I lose some plants, so be it... these piddly recent rain showers ain't cuttin' it when it comes to precipitation, the ground is still so dry. Makes me think of moving north, lol...

At least the wild birds are happy, I have a flock of two dozen small birds (sparrows or finches) hitting the birdbath and ground feeding area on the west side of my home. More birds are hitting the other two birdbaths & feeding areas on the north end and east side of my home. I dumped a little extra cracked corn at all three stations, just to style out the birds.
