Got to sleep in to almost 5 this morning. The fire was almost out and it was 66 degs inside, 24 outside. After breakfast I'm going to take the wife's Grand Cherokee down and put the winter tires on. The other day when I was checking the oil the dip stick broke off inside the tube. Who would use plastic for a GD dipstick?!? If I can't get it out myself I'll have to stop at the Jeep dealer and have them get it out. It's about 75 miles one way to the tire shop and the Jeep dealer.

Maybe walmart to look at weirdos in PJ's.
Wierdos in PJ's and rain coats might be a bit much!

Will walk in a few minutes.
Take DH to doctor appt. to get staples removed from hip.
VA clinic to pick up some paperwork.
Walmart.
Home and walk dogs.
Might start decorating a little.

The weather Gods on TV said we were suppose to have 3-4 days of constant rain earlier this week. I went ahead and prepped my front lawn with two different types of grass seed, and planned on using the rain to germinate these seeds. Well, the forecasters were completely wrong, and it is nice and sunny. I now have to water my grass for 3 minutes every 3 hours, hoping to get my lawn green. What a pain in my tush!

Today I have been doing paper work "Fiscal Planning", I love being told to do more with less $$$... We are getting our first measurable rain since September, so I ran out and opened up the tops of my raised beds. The temps are in the low 40s and the plants could really use the water...

So far, the failures on mine are the pressure switch and flame detector.the pressure switch was a long night wacking it , flame dtector was easy cleaning.
The limit switch didn't fix it.

I have a tech scheduled to visit tomorrow.

The Princess and I talked about it last night. Replacing the furnace may be a viable option. With the green energy people putting the squeeze on gas fired appliances, it may be good time to update the furnace.

It may be a good thing!

Ben

Last November at this time. Right now we only have a few inches on the ground. It's coming.

Had a real nice Thanksgiving program and luncheon at little granddaughter's school. Husband wasn't feeling well enough to go. Stopped at a cousin's place afterwards...she puts a sign out this time of year and sells the best fruitcakes. I bought one to share some with mom, and of course we caught up talking for awhile. Company coming in around suppertime.

Just did a giant pile of dishes. Made green bean and lamb soup , and Streuselcake, baked a pumpkin for pies and still had dishes left from the cheese making yesterday, plus son brought some over from his house.
It has not stopped raining at all today, not even a minute.
Husband put the playpen together, it's really big and nice. Hope their livingroom is big enough to put it up
I wonder if the fire is out yet

After going home early yesterday - didn't really get to rest, had phone calls etc.
However!!! I slept last night breathing through my schnozola and with no drugs 💕
I can hardly express how much better I feel this morning. Will see if it lasts, but so far a much better start to the day.
Matching Pepto pink rugs.... You get well soon 😉💗💗

After being gone all day long yesterday, with just a little sleep....I'm back in action. Got a full 8 hrs sleep, and not leaving the farm at all today. Lots of animal chores, and little granddaughter can help. Lots of house cleaning, too, before company comes Tuesday night. I hear you, Sonya, it's clean and clean again. Mostly the upstairs just gets a bit dusty, and doing the floors, but I probably need to clean the upstairs windows, and there's a million of thing. Waiting to hear more from my cousin Wanda. Her brother, my other cousin Rodney, in his late 50's, up and had a heart attack. Was not breathing for awhile, and is not awake, on a ventilator. They are worried about brain damage if he comes around. In ICU. It's my mom's sister's family, and it's been a bad year. The one daughter died this year of cancer, then their mom (my aunt), and the other sis is in bad shape and is on home medical care, and now this. I'm feeling for them. It's been too much of a year for them. Wanda will come for my mom's bday tomorrow at the manor, and she always comes for Thanksgiving and Christmas at our place.
My mom will be 91 tomorrow, and she thinks she's 38!
Today is one of our daughter's birthday....she's 31 today
Wow, your daughter is almost as old as your mom ;)

Froggy feelin today..tired from yesterday. Driving off the mountain at 2am after being up since about 5 am was fun..but I managed to arrive home in one peice.
I still got up too early 9am today too..
I managed to get a few things done..
Day one of my lemon garlic juice adventure.
One cup seems a bit much. It has a strong garlic aftertaste. I like garlic but dam..
I got it down tho..
Dehydrating all the lemon peels. I ground them up . The tin can smells wonderful!
I dyed a sheet of fabric black too. I dont like how the dye looks ..kinda a faded black. I threw a few black walnuts in to see if it adds any color.
I'm laying down now..nappy time for a few b4 work..

Cleaning my gun / craft room. I am also packing up my Keltec Sub 2000 to send back to Keltec for repairs. I have really learned to hate this firearm. Local gunsmith turned down the repair work, due to a lack of diagrams. I managed to find a couple of YouTube videos showing how to reassemble it but it has turned into a nightmare. Once I get it back, I will never clean this weapon again. It will go into my gun safe or be sold.

Wow, had quite a few pages of catching up to do. Hope everyone who was ill is feeling much better!
I'm convinced that jacking the clock around contributes to the illnesses and sleeplessness. It's a shock to the system and messes up our biorhythms. I absolutely hate it. I'm still sleepy and hungry at the wrong times. DST is a cruel joke. And I'm not getting anything done in the evenings. By the time I finish work I'm just exhausted and fall asleep in my chair but that might just be age. I don't have any oomph anymore.
Had oral surgery last week. Why do they ask you questions while your jaw is propped open and their fist is in your mouth? Healing up ok but sometimes the ache in my jawbone is pretty intense.
Going to Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's inlaws. It will be the first family gathering I've attended since losing my beloved Husband, and also the first holiday since losing my dad. There will be large gaps at the table to be sure, and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle it.
Stopped at the old house to pack up some of what's left and found the new furnace was not running and the house was down to 40 degrees. The potential buyers had a home inspector come through and apparently he messed up a lot of stuff. I found a shed standing open, a window unlatched, rugs shoved into a corner, and it seems he didn't return the furnace switch back on. I'm not happy about that at all; good for him I found the problem before the pipes froze.
Rained all day today, and of course I had fieldwork. By the time I got a couple hours north, it was turning into sleet. The work truck is an actual work truck, so I had to stop on the side of the road and fight with the stupid shift lever that is on the floor in the dark with only small, slightly raised lettering molded in the housing. Had to use my phone flashlight to see which way was 4 high and which was 4 low. I guess 'work truck' means they can't put the nice push button on the dash that my truck has, but couldn't they at least make the indicators visible? A tree had fallen on the trail back to the wellhouse; I may or may not have driven over part of it. There is a certain freedom in taking the work truck through things I would avoid with my truck.

Add a bit of hot pepper, it offsets the garlic and has added benefits.

Hope Thanksgiving goes well, is relaxing and enjoyable! Life can really pile things on!!

Change of plans for today! The younger couple I was going to clean for have the flu!! They called yesterday evening. They had company coming in this afternoon and had to cancel all plans!! ☹️ So I am off today, really hate it is because they are sick!! Was going to brave Walmart after work, but will go this morning!🙄 Got plenty to do inside and out, going to be near 60° and sunny! Going to make a cheesecake, would not have had time if I wasn't off! Haven't made one in a couple of years!!

Pearl, great minds think alike ! I am going to make a cheesecake today also

But first animal care. It finally stopped raining, so they all go out and we need to clean.
Had to deworm a lamb yesterday, he was not eating and had pale eyelids which is unusual for the sheep, they are very parasite resistant usually. Hope he is ok today

Going to finish cleaning today
Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving tomorrow, probably won't have time to be online

Have a happy Thanksgiving Sonya! I'll think of you while I eat cheesecake!

Company came in last night, so that was good. Have the neighbor girl to bring to school this morning, little granddaughter is off for the week. Animal chores, make a big breakfast for our visiting friends, do at least some of tomorrow's cooking, and visit mom (maybe), and cooking dinner, too, so it'll be a long day.

Thanks!

I thought of something , a new diet plan. If I cut out all food catergories starting with a "c" I would most definitely lose weight really fast : cake , cheese, chips, cookies, cream, candy, chocolate, coke,

and only eat things in these catergories: vegetables, fruit, meat, potatoes, eggs, pasta, rice, bread

I would lose those extra 20 lbs really fast, going to try after Thanksgiving and before Christmas

But I am still eating the cheesecake :)

Long, long day yesterday; a few hours drive there and back for a 5-minute meeting with a doctor, not the consultant because he was off sick. Did manage to get my son back on the operation waiting list, which he was accidentally taken off; but was also told the surgery will take 8 weeks to heal from, whereas we had been told it was a day procedure, two weeks recovery. On the good side stopped into a shopping centre and got the last few Christmas bits- check shirts and pyjamas kind of stuff; and visited my sis-in-law, who was waiting for her first grandchild and my first grand niece. Baby Meabh (Maeve) arrived late last night.
Back to the desk today, dinner in the slow cooker, I love that gadget!
