Off work for MLK Day, as are the kids. Had to do some snow removal this am as we got 2" last night. After that I decided that my bedroom (my half anyway) could use a really good thorough cleaning. Went through every drawer, article of clothing, the closet, under the bed, etc., etc. Somehow I nearly filled a small garbage can, came up with a large Goodwill pile, found 2 new shirts I had stuffed in a drawer still in the plastic and now have 3 more smart phone charging cables than I knew about. I also uncovered a small simplex lock box under the bed, strapped up into the bed frame (out of sight), secured with a cable lock that I had completely forgot was there. It had a S&W J-frame, pocket holster, 1 speed loader, 4 speed strips, an envelope with about $200 in $2 bills and a small bag of silver dimes. I bet I have not opened that box in over 3 years.

The preschool is open today even tho it's MLK day, so I'm up having coffee and the house is fairly quiet. Husband is off today but is working on the school's end of year financials The plan is to go to lunch with him and then go back to work. Looking at one of our dining room chairs this morning. Our ex dil was over with the grandkids for the dinner last night and she is a very big lady. Broke one of the dining room chairs. The leg is off, but she also splintered the wood completely. Hmmm.

As a bigger woman myself she must be VERY VERY big to break a chair. Or she was wiggling or leaning back too much. I sit on my folks antique pressed wood cane seat chairs every time we eat over there without even a pin or spindle coming loose. The cane seats have been replaced several times over the years but that is expected.

The key is how you described it, "sit". We have a handcrafted dinette table and chairs we inherited from my grandparents. I guess close to 100 years old. Too many of wife's overweight girlfriends don't sit to get on a chair. They slide on or heavily plop unto the chair at an angle. Out of the six chairs there isn't one that hasn't repaired at least once. Since I refused to re-fix them again, the wife brings out metal chairs when her friends visit.

That is a sign that these women don't know how to sit like a lady or mis-judge their size and weight. I am having a hard time getting Roo to understand how to sit like a lady but then she is only 6. Whats these women's excuse?!

I finished taking the donate clothes off hangers and bagged up. I also went through my maybes and cut it in half. Anything in the maybes that was stained beyond removal, had a hole or was stretched out got tossed even if I liked it. The one badly stained shirt I kept is one I really like. It was white when I got it and after 10+ years it has dulled to a dirty off white. No amount of bleach will reclaim it but the structure of the shirt is fine. So I decided to dye it! I picked a color and have it in the dye bath right now. If it doesn't look right dyed I'll toss it. No harm done.

My closet has seemed to shrink and that is a good thing. Next is the dresser. That will not take long since I have 2 drawers total.

I got my dresser cleaned out today, too. My closet will be next. I have gradually been de-cluttering for the last few months.
Today, I cleaned some, painted some and was resting when my massage lady texted me. I was late for my appt. I'm rarely late for anything! So, I rushed in, got that done, then picked stuff up for burgers tonight and now doing a mani/pedi. All very needed.

Went to my Doctor. This Sinus Infection is out of hand. As soon as I walked into his office I was issued a mask, then Flu T E S T. "Negative". Anti Boitic, Steroids, Antihistamine Shot. Then Prescriptions for all three. for some reason if I didn't Capitalse the word it comes up as two happy faces touching beer mugs together WUWT?

The shirt I dyed turned out nice BUT the seam on the shoulder popped in the wash. So I tossed it. I got almost 10 years of use from it so it was time to let it go.

Got my top drawer sorted and reorganized. The next drawer is a bit more of a mess. I need to figure out how I am going to organize it once it is sorted.

The same large lady broke two chairs at our school. She kind of plops into things, leans and scoots.
Hard day at work. I had a 2nd grader go nuts and it took 30 minutes for an aunt to come pick up. Meanwhile, mom does call back and lectures me about his behavior. This child is heavily medicated. I didn't know that mom decides to give him med breaks on the weekends. Every weekend. And today was considered part of a weekend to her. So after speaking with her, I realized that she is using the day with us as her son's detox day. It was not pretty.
I did take some time off in the afternoon and had a nice lunch out with husband. A great Italian place. Got the two bottom trays of my worm farm cleaned out and harvested lots and lots of worm poop.

I cut a good sized Cedar Tree this morning that was 17" diameter at the base. Trimmed it up then started cutting planks out of it with my chainsaw. Otie(short for Ottis) my Blue Heeler needed a dog house. It took me 6 hours to build, and it's not the prettiest thing, but it will keep him dry!

The cedar will drive fleas away. For some reason they don't like it when we fill the girls' (both dogs are girls) bed with fresh cedar chips. My mom has been stuffing pet beds with cedar as far back as I remember.

A few years ago a good friend of mine had a commercial cedar sawmill. His dogs used to go lay in the sawdust around the mill that was a foot deep in most places. The sawdust became completely infested with fleas I'd never seen anything like it in my entire life, millions of fleas! We sprayed them and they came back we ended up dragging all of the sawdust out and this is dump truck loads and burning them and spraying the ground to kill them while the entire time getting ate up with fleas. So yeah I don't by into the whole cedar dog bedding thing. I think it was a clever marketing idea from someone in the cedar sawing business that had a huge pile of cedar sawdust.

SEE? Im not Crazy. Im Guilty. Yall making me feel bad with all this Cleaning and De Cluttering . STOP IT!
