My cousin came over to help me pull the bush hog blades and sharpen them. Instead of locking nuts they were secured with castle nuts and cotter pins, a royal pain to remove. So instead of trying to remove them I just lifted the bush hog with the fe loader and sharpened the blades in place.

Everything is wet from the rains so clearing brush can wait. Already got a shower this morning, don’t need another one from soggy brush. I watered the calf this morning also, I’ll feed him about dark. Since its a grey foggy day think I’ll stay inside and watch a few football games.

Went to the Christmassy type "fair" in our little town for an hr and it was pretty good. A number of amish ladies set up tables with crafts and food in an empty building, and there was some good stuff! Bought a bunch of fry pies from the best fry pie maker around (Amy), and just had one. Some soy candles, a gorgeous handmade cutting board, a crocheted dragon for little granddaughter that her friend was selling. Bumped into Levi and his dad doing some shopping there and caught up with his dad. The thrift store had all their Christmassy stuff out, but I did find a new looking rain coat ($3) for an extra. A black wool coat in good enough shape ($5), and a pair of shoes ($2). The amish discount grocery had all the Christmassy candies out in bulk...bought some homemade chocolate cherries, and peanut clusters. Jonathan apples were clearing out for $15 a bushel box. So I got another. Good to visit with some that I have seen in a while. Husband feeling poorly, so I'll stick close by and get things done here.

Woke up sweating. It's hotter inside than outside and it's also humid. I've been drinking a lot of water but sweating so much I don't have to run tot he bathroom as much.

Decided to do at least one productive thing after I had my Cheerios this morning so I put the new strikeplate on the back door. The box for the new plate fell and one of the screws disappeared so I had to find a replacement. I thought the strikeplate with the new lockset might have a screw but then I discovered the new lockset did not come with a strikeplate. Last one I'd bought came with one, so that is odd. I used a magnet stick to search for the lost one to no avail. Then I poked around near my brother's bedroom door since I knew he replaced a strikeplate and I managed to find one of the screws from the old one and used it. So, new strikeplate is on and works great.

Princess just came over panting. I aimed the fan at her so she wanted to come give me some love but she was too overheated and just shared the fan with me for a little bit.

I'm trying to work up the nerve to go do something else productive but my brain is melting. I know it's not as hot as it was in summer, but it should not be this warm right now.

Roger Whittaker! The very bestest of all time. And kind enough to give a wonderful-good hug to a star-struck gal who hung around waiting for a meet and greet after a concert.
Snowman I know just how you feel. Every day I wake up I'm disappointed because I'd so much rather be with my Husband. Missing him is a pain that never eases.

Went to the Monday Market this morning. Took Winter with us for fear she'd tear down the fence trying to escape the yard while we were gone. Summer and Friday stayed at home. She rode in our wagon while we walked the market. She is a 12 year old corgi mix with a limp/joint issues. She soaked up all the hands that reached out to pet her as we walked. She did try to eat a discarded burger off the ground. I was the one who won the chance to reach down her throat for it when she tried to swallow it whole. Stupid dog!

Nothing new came home with us this trip but if you don't go you'll never find what you are missing. ;)

Need to get the propane tanks filled soon for the winter preparations. I also ordered a second Duracell power source with a solar panel. We have one of each already but I saw a killer deal for a 300W battery with the 100W solar panel that is plug and play for all Duracell power sources. The panels we already have are Coleman from Costco and there are a few different things you have to do to use them with the power source. I went with this deal because it cost the same as just the solar panel. Score!

Now I am nursing a pint jar of wine. I don't drink so this is rare for me.

A good day. We went to a “junque jingle” this morning. That was nice. I got a “new” bucket. An old galvanized bucket- a real oldy that’s good thick metal. New buckets are like tinfoil.
Came home, did a little stitching then fixed dinner. Then hubby wanted to go get some fresh sides and pork butts so he can make bacon and try his hand at hams. He was almost giddy 😂. It’s been cold and rainy and windy so cool enough for smoking meats.

Me Hanging Strong fer that Extra Hour I can Sleep while 😴😴😴

Give Her a Hug for Me...!!!

Got woke up twice around 4 &5am with a coon trying to get our chickens. Ran off first time, 2nd time it ran up a tree and I saw it. Took one shot and pretty sure I hit it, but damn thing was 30" up. Sat outside for nearly an hour waiting on it to come down. Finally did and was flying by 15' off the ground. Too dark to get a good shot then. Back to bed and slept too late.
Got up and did my morning routine, meds, vitals, etc. Took trash to the dump. Got back and cleaned the truck up a little. Mowed to chop up some leaves and blow them away from the house. Loaded up some firewood to move to the firepit. We're planning to have a family get together and have a fire. Mom is 85 and don't get around good so I move the pit up close to our front door. Fed and watered the birds, and gathered eggs. Finally sat on the porch for a couple hours and smoked my favorite cigar and listened to the peace and quite. set a trap for the coon if it decides to come back tonight.
Finally got in the house and wife was sick. She threw up off and on for a couple hours, then crashed out on the couch. Called my mom and sister to postpone the get together until maybe next weekend.
Watched UT finally beat Kentucky and messin around on the puter.

time change doesn't matter to me, I get up when I get up and it's light out. There is the same amount of daylight as before , well a half a minute or so less since we are getting closer to december

I started cleaning the chicken coop yesterday ( it is large, you could house goats in there) , what a mess. I had a N95 facemask on and still felt like I was breathing in chicken crap and dust. Hasn't been cleaned in a while, a foot of stuff to take out plus spider webs to remove
Husband figured out why the fuse blew, too much current for the new panels. So we need to order bigger connecting wires and a new fuse, plus still haven't decided on where to order the charge controller from. Cheap one direct from China or much more expensive one from a solar company that comes with some sort of warranty. It's a 50 50 chance to come out ahead . Everything is made in China....

I wished this stupid election was over, it's starting to cause me stress thinking about what's going to happen.
We need to get our truck inspected and it's overdue already. Monday son has a online interview in the morning so he can't help me with the animals ( husband has to leave early in the morning to be in line for inspection, it's almost an hour away) , Tuesday is the election so they might be short people going voting, Wednesday who knows what is going to happen....

The change in the weather has all my joints acting up. Sleeping hurts. I finally crawled out of bed at 5:45. Have a couple of loaves of bread to mix up, need to d it early morning now so they can cook before the oldest heads to the mountains for the week. You know, before it’s dark! Church later. Might try to muck out the garden a bit. Lots of dry beans to shell a the mushrooms are still going strong. Really need some coffee.
