Chamber of Commerce function and dinner at Bass Pros...

That second picture in your post - the hole in the ground - where is that? It's a pretty cool looking place. I've never seen anything like that.

[edit]

Oh, I found it. Since your other pics were at a Bass Pro apparently, I searched Google for "bass pro shop near big hole in ground". I found it (Google finds anything!) Wow, that sinkhole is a cool looking place!

Upon dropping off my daughter at state testing, my wife and I went to Goodwill in Columbia with the bends and bought two Black and Decker drills. Also brought a handsaw. Picking up my daughter and the GPS went out. We got lost because we tried a new route. Next time, I'll pack my map in my bag. Once we reach our familiar neighborhood, we stop at the Dollar Tree and find out the broom handle costs a dollar and the broom costs a dollar.
Glad y'all are home!!

Walked first and paid bills.
Checked antifreeze for DH's doc appointment this afternoon. DH fell on his back and twisted a bit, landed on his left hip. Cracked it and will have surgery in the morning. Just a couple of screws, we hope.
We never know where a day will lead!

Please give us a good update tomorrow!! Sorry your hubby (and you) are going through this!♥️

Did some bin shopping today, although one of the stores closed their bins early and plan to close up till Monday, for lack of employees. So only got to shop the shelves there. They did have some large bags of yerba mate, and I got those for a caffeine fix, and they had large cans of hominy, too. Odds and ends at the other store, and stopped in at the Dollar General near there, too. All this was near mom's place, so I stopped in for a visit. We used my phone to call my Florida sis to wish her a happy birthday. Mom and I singing into the phone at the top of our lungs to her was funny. We can't sing. Ha. Emptied the dehydrators of tomatoes, filled them up again. Tomorrow's an early day...no driving the girls to their schools. The bus will pick up little granddaughter and neighbor girl will catch the amish driver. Husband has doc appt, lab work, and RX pickup all in the bigger town. Animals will have to get done when we get back.

Trip back to the big town today to get something I forgot monday. Sort of a wasted shopping day. Picked up some overpriced ammo, wanted to get dad some 16ga. He managed to kill a couple crows this morning with his old double b 16. I thought I’d get him some more bird shot. When I asked about 16ga at the store the guy laughed and said good luck! While there i got some 22s.

Since I had to cross the river… I bought some herbal supplies, bottle of glycerin and some oil of oregano. Saw some Valerian tincture, worth a try. Don’t like buying tinctures at a store but no one I know grows it… I despise the tea, that leaves tincture.

Tv tonight...

A few years back there was a big pond and one night it drained. Something like 80,000 truck loads of dirt hauled out later that’s what’s left. There are other caves on that property and they were trying to connect to them from that area.

Hashbrown: did you wear your hello kitty shirt?

Snappy: well wishes to your husband, hope all goes well

It is 15 degrees outside , yuck
Ordered another load of firewood yesterday. There is no way we could cut and split all the wood we burn each winter. Starting to wonder if propane would be easier and not too much more expensive.

Picking up Ranger today, finally repaired. Need to pick up sawdust also but can't do it at the same time
Taking care of the animals now takes much longer ( 3 hours in the morning, 1 hour in the evening) since we are moving them in and out the barn
So far everyone seems ok but the temp change is bothering me we went from almost 80 to 15 in 3 days

I hear you on the temp change. We are thankfully getting some warmer weather for a week...nothing below freezing. Close, but not freezing. Doing animal chores below freezing takes forever, or seems like it. Adds at least a half hour to everything out in the cold. And I pushed the limit with babies this year...Have 20 meat chicks, 25 guinea chicks, and 6 misc chicken chicks in the milkhouse, not able to put them out because they're too young. So cleaning them up every day, really twice a day takes awhile. Usually I stop with babies by late August, but got some good deals this year, so oh well. Meat chicks wont be ready for butcher till in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think the misc chicks can go into one of our chicken houses baby area this weekend. Couldn't imagine herding sheep in and out in bad weather, our neighbor does that. Anyway, it's 34 out right now, and I'm grateful for that today.

We made it to my sister's last night at around 7. It was about a 12 hour drive from our place. We stopped for breakfast and later for lunch on the way. It rained really hard coming over the passes. There was snow on the ground on the higher elevations but the roads were clear. Since we're in Oregon we aren't allowed to pump our own gas. The wife was impressed that I didn't get in to a fight with the guy that filled up our Jeep, like last time. Stupid law. Anyway, mom was looking better last night. She says she's ready for the end. We're going out to see her again after breakfast.

Another big cleaning job today, also working with my Aussie! Before I got a chance to have a talk with the owners about working with their dog, they showed me their "training calendar"! Just a few days of not working with the dog and it really got out of hand for them!! So they are ready to get to work, even offered me more money to work with them more often!! She's a sharp little dog, just gotta be serious with her! Will probably split wood this afternoon!!

This morning, I will walk first. If I don't take care of me, I can't take care of DH.
Feed dogs and cat.
Go to thrift store and buy a walker. I'm sure VA will supply one, but it will come from Jackson and through their channels so I don't know how long it will take.
Take DH's list of goodies to him in hospital. Mostly cookies, gum and candy, phone charger. I had a bag packed for him with undies, socks and toothbrush, etc. It's been in his room since his last visit.
Still don't have a time for surgery.
When I do get home, it is dog walk day.
Hopefully, that will be a wrap!

I hate it when I do that. Dislike wasting my own time!
Go out and celebrate with something hot
I'll add extra hot sauce to my burrito today!

I’m getting cabin fever. I’m so limited in what I can do with this rehab business. I’m ready to go out somewhere……anywhere but I’m not sure where. I really can’t walk much. But I’m bored out of my mind.
I didn't put love because you are bored, but put it because you are bored 😂
That's a good sign as it means you are otherwise healthy and are more apt to do what you need to in order to get out and get going again 😊

Today was our monthly trip to Costco. Normally we do it on the weekend but I told K I'd do it so we didn't have to run out there this past weekend.

I stopped at the bank then Lowes to pick up a space heater on the way to Costco which opened at 10am. I was still 20 minutes early.

Now I just have to run out this week when I get a chance for cat litter, nuts, carrots and green beans.

When I go I'll make a stop at Hobby Lobby for paint and supplies for more crafty things I enjoy doing. ;)
Love Hobby Lobby

I finally dug out my RCI2950 10 meter radio, I have to pick at it a tad and blow the cob webs out, it has been sealed away for better than 20 years.

I broke down a giant pile of boxes 📦. What’s my prize? 🏆 🤪
Not finished rearranging and cleaning the office- something about work that needed doing (first of the month). Oy! Hoping to finish Monday or Tuesday.
Everyone have their sugar crash going on?
