@Sewingcreations15 , sorry someone is doing that to strawberries in your area! I hope they catch them and can prosecute them somehow.

@The Lazy L , I love that your mom is having you pray for your co-workers and I will pray that she has less flare ups!

I finally sewed the @#$% buttons back on 2 out of 3 shirts. Don't have the right color thread for the third one. Darn LOL Will be dusting and cleaning the bathrooms this afternoon.

I found out that I was right about my thyroid! Doctor called in a prescription for a lower dose. Now, here's my quandry! Do I start taking them right away or--I have a huge list of big jobs to get done by Oct. 11th, just deal with the lesser amount of sleep (although I did double up on the melatonin like the doc said to) and then start with them on the 12th? i know that when I do start taking them, I will have less energy than I do now and I won't have any help with getting the big jobs done. Leaning towards waiting to start them. I've been on this dose for years so aside from the sleep issue, I don't see the harm. But isn't it nice that I figured it out and was actually right?

Leaky valves are quite common, but 3 in one young heart...? To keep a heart strong or help it be stronger, she needs to exercise, an hour a day, weights, walking, staying active.
Did the cardiologist mention that?
So I'm hoping she gets another evaluation in 6 months, and provided everything is good, definite check ups with the cardiologist every year.

She has another apt in 6 months. And we were told to come in if she starts feeling bad again. We go to the gym every morning for 30min. That's all she can take before her blood pressure starts to drop and she has to lay down. She also does quite a bit of walking throughout the day on a treadmill in her room.

@snappy1 I hope that they catch the strawberry fiends too. There is now 3 states of Australia affected with needles, pins, iron rods and one with a hypodermic syringe in one of the strawberry punnets found in supermarkets. Some families have young children who fortunately found them in the strawberries in school lunches and one man that has swallowed a half a needle. They have withdrawn 6 different brands of strawberries off the market and are saying this could very well ruin the livelihood of some of the farmers.

They are fairly certain it is a disgruntled past employee of one of the strawberry growers but they think there may be a few copy cat fiends doing it too  . Fortunately I purchased our 20 punnets of strawberries before all this happened and will be checking them all thoroughly anyway now that they are frozen. We chopped finely 10 punnets and found no foreign objects and the other 10 punnets have been cut in half and frozen so we will check those too.

We've had that problem with Halloween candy here in the states, Sewing. And in the 80's we had a problem with Tylenol. Now we have a foil seal under the child cap, plastic around the cap, and the bottle in a sealed box. Some people are just nuts.
Off to go out to breakfast with husband and twins. Then to the school for a meeting today, and twins will be helping to pull some weeds there.

Thursday I did something to my knee somehow. Didn't pay attention to it. Friday I couldn't put any weight on my left leg because the knee would hurt. As the day went on it got worse. I could barely walk so I took an aleve and stayed off of it. Today it didn't hurt as bad but I took another aleve and used a cane to walk.
Went out for breakfast like usual. Picked up some dairy at walmart using the buggy as a walker lol
Hopefully it won't be too many more days before the knee is better *sigh* Its right along the outside edge of my left knee so the only thing I can think is I shifted wrong while cleaning or something, its not the joint itself. *shrugs*
I can bend it and straighten it but I can't put weight on it. Hurts like the dickens

Anyways I'm not doing too much thats for sure. Watching baseball, drinking my water. I get up every half hour and walk in the house.
have to get laundry done tomorrow ( at least hubby's work clothes)
Guess after Flo gets by us sometime on wednesday I'll head into town. I have go to the dollar tree store for somethings and I haven't checked the sales papers for the grocery stores

@WVDragonlady hope your knee gets better shortly, elevate it when you are not doing anything and try arnica or comfrey cream on it to alleviate swelling and pain. Don't use the comfrey cream more than 10 days though as it is a really strong herb.

@MoBookworm1957 the photo of yourself , grandchild and fur child is adorable :).

We were able to get some Pears from a Friends Trees, so we are very busy making Pear Butter, and Canned Pears. I still have to clean the Carpet, cut the Grass and fill the Bird Feeders. I'm really to tired to do any of it, but my Wife swings a Wicked Whip LOL, oh and I'm trying to teach myself how to play the Banjo. I have Sooo much to Learn.

Not a lot done yesterday but we did empty the bath of water and DH watered about one side of the house lawns with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine. We made the bed with fresh sheets and folded one load of washing and did the washing and drying of dishes in the kitchen and I put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine.

Just after lunch DH went to a church activity and went clay pigeon shooting. It is the first time he has been clay shooting since he was 10 and didn't do too badly at all compared to others the only other person who beat him was a firearms instructor friend of ours. One friend even shot a cactus after pressing the trigger too early and couldn't figure out why the guys were cheering him on as he thought he didn't hit anything. The joke here is that everyone who owns a property around here has been told my council to get rid of cactus and the guy that owned the property where they were shooting told him there were plenty more he could get rid of :).

While DH was doing that I sat and relaxed at home and watered the fruit tree pot plants and read for a while. It has been a long time since I had any time to sit and read so I enjoyed it and read part of one of the tightwad gazettes I purchased recently.

They have now withdrawn all Australian strawberries off supermarket shelves until they sort out who is tampering with them  . Like @snappy1 and @Amish Heart I hope they catch the sickos and throw the book at them and give them a long time in jail over it. What is spring without strawberries on the table as it is a staple here. We fortunately have 20 punnets in the freezer here purchased before all this started at really cheap prices.

Thank you

Got up, made bed, got myself together
Made hot tea, took medicine
Strawberry got up stretched slowly, yawned.
She does that after we have Estelle for three or four days in a row.
She did the p&p dance, wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get her lead on.
So I sat down, sipped hot tea.
Finally she calmed down, got her lead on her.
Whew! She barely made it off the sidewalk to pee.
Then she plopped down in the sun.
She slept, while I ran the vacuum in the living room.
Checked my grocery list.
She came inside drank ton of water with white vinegar in it.
Back in her room(kennel). I went to Wal*Mart got my fresh fruit, vegetables.
Spent less than $20. Won't need to buy any more fresh fruits ad vegetables for two weeks.
Let Strawberry out of her room.Put her on her lead she finished taking care of her business.
Got the groceries put away.
Sat outside with Strawberry while she finished up her business.
I sat outside crocheting the beginnings of a shawl for Christmas for my daughter in law Laura, and my mom.
Using variegated thread(doily thread) they should be pretty. Never made this pattern before for either one.
Made lunch, cleaned up dishes, cousin stopped by for about an hour to visit.
She wanted to hide some Christmas gifts at my house. She left in huff, I said NO.
I'm cleaning stuff out so I have breathing room in Strawberry's /sewing/ craft room.
So far on the shawl I started today, got one small corner done.
Supper is over, watching, listening to TV, Strawberry is sleeping stretched out at my feet on my bed.
Have a great day, afternoon, evening, night.

Well I can walk today lol Only slight pain so I'm forgoing any pain pills. I think its just residual pain.
I want to strip the bed today and vacuum the mattress. Haven't done it since spring.
Have no idea what I'm making for supper today.
Have to give hubby a haircut today

Apparently Flo will be here tomorrow all day. Accu-weather actually had "tropical rain" posted so I'm guessing it'll be steady and heavy. Haven't looked at a detailed forecast yet. After this rain I need to get out to the raised beds and clear them and dump the debris. I plan on planting some lettuce seeds and radishes in my window boxes

My dog has fleas! We have been flea free for years so I'm thinking the stray cat that hangs around is the carrier. Bath in Dawn today and goes for haircut Tuesday. I hate to use flea meds but that seems like the only way to get rid of them for good. And vacuuming, of course.

Anyway, went to Church this morning, need to take eBay photos, need to tear out old tomato plants and plant flowers in their container, wash dog and then Church tonight.

I do really feel like I'm up too early this weekend. Taking a break from housework, but still have loads to do. Husband and youngest daughter went to an awards luncheon. She could bring one guest. She is one of the top fifteen pharmacy students in the state. Only three more semesters to go till she gets her M.D. She works hard and is our humble daughter.

I get up early ( between 3-5am) every day. I find I can get a lot more done early in the day. If I'm sick for some reason or had a bad night's sleep then I'll sleep later

Laundry and bed are finished. Hubby's hair is buzzed off lol

I plan on using leftover meatloaf to make spaghetti and meat sauce. Have some bread I need to use up to make garlic bread with.

Just watching baseball now and lurking around the internet lol

trying to beat the heat , and not scare myself too much with news.
Today hear index is 105. It is very humid and this morning was foggy.
Giving old dog a bug pan of ice water, she hangs her head over it and it really helps.
Watering plants, mopping floors, cookign and washed van and truck this morning.Still lots to do..

Mopping seems to be the thing to do today. Finished it finally and vacuumed, too. Cleaned a bathroom, cleaned the kitchen. Animals fed. Did the accounting tuition paperwork for the school and just need to drive it down there. And stop at Sprouts for some egg whites. Husband eats egg white omelets in the morning. Still have some clean up to do around here, but getting tired of it. Talked to mom for an hour on the phone. My Kansas cousin just called and got the "Budget" newspaper latest edition and read some of the stuff in it that the reporter wrote when she came to our farm for a ladies coffee break. Maybe my copy will arrive tomorrow, we'll see.

Pruned the heck out of the rose garden this morning. That was a big job! Wednesday, I will cart off all the dead limbs. Just couldn't do that too! Also, it's laundry day. Later, I'll tear up the non bearing tomato plants and replace with flowers for now.

I got rid of all carpet in our house in 1983. So mopping is just regular cleaning fro me for years now. Difference is instead of sweeping now I vacuum wood floors, only sweep in between vacuuming.

Did inside van this morning, talked to daughters and will call son in Japan later since it is late at night there now.

The elk are bugling something fierce for the last week or so. Okay except when they come up near the house and do it at night. They are pretty loud.

I can't wait to move. I'd much rather listen to the elk than the neighbors stereo.

busy morning...two more huge racoons to rehome...they were too heavy to lift, had to use the forks on the bucket of the tractor to lift up to the back of the pickup....went for a ride, and they took their sweet time coming out of the cages...but I think we must have a village of them....LOL

Read this on a chicken forum. Poster was live trapping coons to protect his chickens. Human Society was just down the road from the Poster was providing a live trap. Poster would catch a coon, take it down to the Human Society and get a empty trap to take back home. Poster had taken caught several coons to H.S.

Another coon trapped and another trip to the H.S. H.S. was unusually busy so Poster had to parked back behind the H.S. building. Poster carried the trap and coon into the H.S. They gave Poster a empty trap. As Poster was putting the trap into his car trunk he heard the back door of the H.S. open. Poster turned towards the sound and watch a H.S. employee release the coon Poster had just dropped of.

Poster had been catching the same coon over and over again?!?!?

If you catch a skunk in a humane trap here, the animal group will take it, but we watched drown them in a small water tower/tank like thing. Then they bring you back your trap. Snakes are picked up and relocated. Racoons are shot because they believe they all have distemper. Son's two dogs killed a skunk last night, right after it spray near our air unit. Our house stinks and his dogs stink.

Added study to my plan. I guess since politics is not working too good, may try religion an at least try to save my soul since the rest of me is in trouble far as society is going.

Also got lots of things done today so that is good.

This morning going with DH to the doctors to sort through a medical issue with doctor to send info to take to DVA (vet affairs) to have an extra condition listed on his card from his military accident. Should be fun a mountain of paperwork to do and send off and wait for a reply and result which will hopefully be covered.

The afternoon at 1 pm we are off to have a look at a property which has a 3 bedroom older style home on it on 17.54 acres and then then at 3.30 pm off to see another home on 2.4 acres of land. Our deposit is getting high enough for us to start looking at homes we can afford to buy with a minimal bank loan. Finally convinced DH to look at established homes instead of building as I think we will be pushing it financially to build because of our low income and later entry into the housing market due to my families money grab. We will still need to start putting money away for retirement yet as well which was my concern. We can always gradually renovate an older property to suit our needs as we are both pretty handy and mechanical.

Let you know this afternoon what I thought of both properties and both properties would only have us borrowing 25 % of our combined after tax incomes (less than the rent we are paying here or slightly more) which is manageable as we have no other debts.
